"We come to [God] to ask for help. And what does he do so generously? He gives us his power through his strength. And it doesn't matter how "little" the thing is, he doesn't just care about the "capital B," big things in our lives. He cares about it all. His door is always open."— Jennifer Dukes LeeToday's Episode: What if you started your day by asking God for help? Like every single day, before your feet hit the floor? What might shift for you...in a good way? This is the question Jennifer Dukes Lee is asking us to consider. She lays a firm foundation of the biblical precedent for relying on God. But her own stories are what will compel you to really consider the fruit of asking God for help—not just in the big things, but in every thing, every day. You'll walk away with a renewed sense of the deep care of God for you and a fresh willingness to ask him for help each morning. Jennifer Dukes Lee is an author, speaker, and expert in helping people create rhythms that actually work in real life, not just in theory. In this episode, Jennifer makes the bold claim that everyone is a morning person, you just haven't discovered your style yet. We talk about identifying your unique “archetype” and how understanding it can completely change the way you start your day. She also breaks down the difference between routine and ritual, and why one feels like a chore while the other actually brings life. We dive into the very real struggle of revenge bedtime procrastination (aka staying up way too late just to reclaim your time), and how to shift your habits without adding more pressure. She will be giving a copy of How to Love Your Morning so leave a comment below or on social media to be entered. Some gems from our conversation: The hard days are when I really need my morning ritual where I offer all myself to God for that day. The morning person isn't the one who wakes up early, she's the one who is aware of who she is waking up to be. God has a soft spot in his heart for mornings—I found over 200 verses regarding that great time of day. I can't wait for the perfect morning to carry his hope, love and grace throughout the day. Mornings are for spiritual breakthroughs with God. Routines sound mundane and guilt-ridden; rituals sound sacred and holy. God works through unlikely means to care for his people—Ok, Lord, send the ravens! Each new morning is a gift to savor, treasure and reflect the hope and goodness of God. Do your mornings feel sacred or stressful?Today I'm joined by Jennifer Dukes Lee to talk about how to love your morning — not through hustle culture or productivity hacks — but through grace.Because if we're honest, many of us carry quiet guilt before 7am. Maybe you used to wake up early, journal prayers, and linger in Scripture. Now it's rushed, chaotic, or you just don't feel the motivation you once had. And the shame creeps in.But Scripture reminds us:“The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning.” Lamentations 3:22–23Not new pressure, but new mercy. We talk about:Untangling quiet time from performanceExperiencing God in rushed and chaotic morningsWhat to do when motivation is goneThe smallest faithful step you can take tomorrowThis conversation is for the woman who feels behind (spiritually or otherwise). Welcome to episode 181 with Jennifer Pepito and Jennifer Dukes Lee. Jennifer set out to write a book about mornings through the lens of what the Bible says about the early hours of the day. The result is her newest book How to Love Your Morning: Faith Filled Habits to Build a Life of Joy and Purpose One Day at a Time. We don't often think of mornings through the lens of how God views them, but so much of scripture is God calling people out to connect with him or go with him in the morning. But how can we have a great morning when we arrive at it carrying the stress, dissapointment, or sleeplessness of the previous day? Jennifer walks through the simple steps we can take to set up our mornings for greatness, adjust to the season you are in, and a few tips for letting go of unfinished tasks so you can start your loveable morning the night before. How you start your morning can shape everything that follows. In this episode of Empowering Women in Real Estate® – The Podcast, I'm joined by bestselling author Jennifer Dukes Lee to talk about how creating intentional morning rituals can bring more peace, purpose, and joy into your day — even in the middle of a busy life and business. Jennifer shares the inspiration behind her new book How to Love Your Morning (releasing April 7th), and why she believes mornings are not about rigid routines or waking up at 4:30 AM. Instead, they are about creating meaningful rituals that help you begin your day grounded, intentional, and connected to what matters most. We talk about the difference between a routine and a ritual, how your identity shapes the way you approach mornings, and why even a few intentional minutes at the start of the day can change your mindset and energy. Jennifer also shares wisdom from interviewing 100 women across different seasons of life about what actually helps them start their day well. In this episode, we discuss: • Why mornings are so powerful — and why they matter for busy professionals • The difference between a morning routine and a morning ritual • Why you don't have to wake up early to become a "morning person" • How morning rituals can sustain you during stressful or caregiving seasons • The surprising impact of "revenge bedtime procrastination" on your mornings • Practical ideas from women in many stages of life for starting the day with intention If your mornings often feel rushed, reactive, or chaotic, this conversation will inspire you to rethink how you begin your day — and how a few intentional moments can change everything. Have you ever woken up already feeling behind… already carrying the weight of the day before your feet even hit the floor? Maybe your mornings feel rushed, chaotic, or even a little heavy. Or maybe you’ve wondered if you’re “doing it wrong” because your mornings don’t look like the picture-perfect routines we often see online. If that’s you, I think this week’s episode of The Love Offering Podcast will feel like a breath of fresh air. I had the joy of talking with Jennifer Dukes Lee about her new book, How to Love Your Morning, and our conversation was both practical and deeply encouraging. Jennifer reminded us that being a “morning person” isn’t about waking up at a certain time or having a perfect routine—it’s about how we begin and who we begin with. We talked about: Why mornings matter so much in Scripture (and how they’re woven throughout God’s story) Letting go of pressure, comparison, and unrealistic expectations How your personality and season of life shape your morning rhythm Simple, grace-filled ways to meet with God—even on the busiest days One of my favorite reminders from our conversation was this: you don’t need a perfect morning to meet with God. Even a whispered, “Lord, help me,” is enough. Because the truth is—every morning is an invitation. An invitation to receive God’s mercy again. An invitation to begin again. An invitation to trust that He is already with you in whatever the day holds. Scripture tells us: “His mercies are new every morning.” So today or tomorrow, before you reach for your phone or rush into your to-do list, what if you simply pause and met Him there? I’m praying this conversation encourages you to start your day with a little more grace, a little more peace, and a whole lot more awareness of God’s presence. She'll change your perspective on how your day begins and give you practical strategies along with spiritual truth. ResourcesHow to Love Your Morning by Jennifer Dukes Lee
Would you classify yourself as a morning person? Some of you would say, "Yes, I love to get up in the mornings." For others, you are a night person who loves your nights. What if night owls could love their mornings too? I am so excited to have Jennifer Dukes Lee back on the Depth Podcast for a fourth time to talk about her new book, *How to Love Your Morning. The subtitle reads Faith-Filled Habits To Build a Life of Joy and Purpose One Day at a Time. Jennifer is going to re-define morning person as well as talk about how to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. I cannot wait for you to hear my favorite chapter on the word, overwhelm, and how to flip the script on what it means. I know you are going to learn so much truth from Jennifer! Also, I am so excited for someone to win a copy of Jennifer's book: *How to Love Your Morning. All the details of the book giveaway are on my website at jodisnowdon.com or you can click this direct link: https://kingsumo.com/g/19wjydm/how-to-love-your-morning-book-giveaway Important Links: It is fun to have Jennifer back on the Podcast! If you missed my first conversation with Jennifer about her book, *It's All Under Control, please check out Episode 3 on the Depth podcast. I love what she shares about surrendering the outcome, not the effort. Her second time on the podcast we talked about her book, *Growing Slow. You can check out our conversation on the Depth Podcast Episode 80. I cannot wait for you to hear about the four seasons: Spring Planting, Summer Growth, Autumn Harvest and Winter Rest She was on again for a third time to talk about her journal: *Stuff I'd Only Tell God: A Guided Journal of Courageous Honesty, Obsessive Truth-Telling, and Beautifully Ruthless Self-Discovery. What I love about this book is that Jennifer asks some great questions throughout this book that we can take time to reflect on and become more self-aware. I cannot wait for you to hear our answers to some of the questions; check out Depth Podcast Episode 173. Bio Jennifer Dukes Lee is the author of several bestselling books and Bible studies, including *How to Love Your Morning, *Growing Slow, and*It's All Under Control. A former news reporter for big-city newspapers, Jennifer still loves to chase a great story. Her favorite one of all: the Good News of Jesus Christ. Today, she's a self-proclaimed "morning evangelist," helping people everywhere discover that mornings really can be worth waking up for. She speaks at conferences and churches around North America, sharing messages of hope, spiritual renewal, and what happens when you finally stop hitting snooze on your soul. Jennifer and her husband, Scott, live on the fifth-generation Lee family farm in Iowa, where they've spent their lives raising crops, pigs, two beautiful daughters, and an enduring faith. She loves queso, Netflix binges, and singing too loudly to songs with great harmony. (Apologies to anyone within earshot.) Most of all, she loves Jesus. *Note: If you are interested in purchasing this book or the books recommended, I would love for you to use the Amazon Affiliate link above to help support the podcast. If your mornings feel rushed, reactive, or just plain hard—you're not alone. On today's episode of Radical Radiance, I'm joined by my friend Jennifer Dukes Lee, author, speaker, and encourager, to talk all about her beautiful and practical new book, How to Love Your Morning. This conversation is an invitation to rethink the way we start our days—not as another box to check or routine to perfect, but as a gentle opportunity to meet God with intention, honesty, and grace. Jennifer reminds us that loving our mornings doesn't mean becoming a morning person or waking up earlier—it means anchoring our hearts before the noise of the day takes over.We talk about cultivating simple rhythms and creating space to receive God's presence right where we are—coffee in hand, messy bun and all.If you've been longing for mornings that feel grounded instead of frantic, this episode will feel like a deep exhale.
Join Alli's Intern Program - https://alliworthington.com/interns Today I'm talking with my friend Jennifer Dukes Lee about her new book, How to Love Your Morning. Listen in—especially if you're not a morning person. Don't worry, this isn't about becoming a 5 a.m. superhero. We're talking about real mornings—messy, sleepy, chaotic. The guilt, comparison, and pressure to get it right. I didn't have a morning rhythm until 46, so if you feel behind, you're not alone. If you've scrolled past a perfect Bible-and-coffee photo and thought you're doing it wrong, or decided mornings aren't for you, this conversation is a deep exhale. Jennifer reframes mornings honestly and practically. AUG. 8, 2025Seeing yourself through God's eyes (1)"We are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus." Eph 2:10 NIVIf you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? Most of us could come up with a long list! The fact is, Jesus alone holds the world record when it comes to perfection. In the words of Jennifer Dukes Lee: "Until you are convinced of God's incredible love...you will continue looking for replacement love everywhere but in the heart of Christ. No matter where you live or work...the enemy prowls like a lion, stalking people on Wall Street, fashion runways, suburban cul-de-sacs, [and] Facebook walls... [We're] in a showdown with Satan, who will use every opportunity...to whisper in our ears, 'What are people thinking of you?' [He] will tell you you're too fat, too frumpy, too stupid, too poor. He will do whatever he can to set your affections on the things of this world, instead of on Christ. And he'll wrap those accusations in glossy magazine covers if he has to." Don't buy into his lies. Jesus said, "There is not an iota of truth in him...he is the father of liars" (Jn 8:44 TLB). One Christian author summarizes it like this: "Discontentment is one of the big giants we must conquer if we ever hope to enjoy life...We may not have all we would like to have, but we certainly have more than some people. No matter how you think you look, there is somebody who would love to look like you. No matter how old you are, there is someone who would love to be as young as you…Love yourself and love your life; it is the only one you have!" The truth is that you're the only you, God made... after that, He broke the mold!Seeing yourself through God's eyes He broke the mold!Share This DevotionalSend us a textSupport the showChanging Lives | Building Strong Family | Impacting Our Community For Jesus Christ!

"The world feels short on peace these days, doesn't it?Mother Teresa once said, “If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.” I worry, sometimes, that we forget that we really are in this together. It's a noisy, hectic, I'm-right-you're-wrong world out there. What happens when a skeptical news reporter becomes a passionate advocate for faith? Jennifer Dukes Lee's extraordinary journey from doubt to dedication reveals how persistent questioning can lead to profound belief.Jennifer opens up about her background as a journalist who interrogated presidential candidates with the same rigor she later applied to scripture. With refreshing honesty, she admits she doesn't have a neat conversion story—just a gradual awakening to God's persistent pursuit. "Even when I didn't believe in God, He believed in me," she reflects, capturing the essence of a faith journey many listeners will recognize in their own lives. The conversation takes a turn when Jennifer shares the never-before-told story of being trapped in her wrecked car during a blizzard. A stranger in a long skirt stood for what seemed like eternity, holding a quilt against Jennifer's broken window to block the freezing wind—a living metaphor for Christ's sacrificial love that Jennifer still carries with her today. For anyone navigating doubts or wondering if their ordinary life matters, Jennifer's story offers profound reassurance. The questions that once threatened her faith became the very path that led her to Christ. Her testimony reminds us that in a culture obsessed with the spectacular, quiet faithfulness on ordinary days is indeed holy ground.See the complete interview ⬇️https://youtu.be/g6i0GSk-8b8➡️ Reach out to Jennifer…https://jenniferdukeslee.com/https://generationstogenerations.com/podcastordinarypeoplestories@gmail.com https://www.facebook.com/ordinarypeoplestory https://www.instagram.com/ordinarypeopleextraordinary/ X: @storiesextra Any advice should be confirmed with a qualified professional. All rights reserved: Ordinary People Extraordinary ThingsStories shared by guests may not always be shared views of OPET. "We are not called to mold our lives into something impressive. We are called to yield to the Potter who is forming something eternal. "We are parented by God toward rootedness in the same way that parents work to root their children in Christ – through worship, prayer, and His word. We need strong roots when inevitable storms come, to keep us steady when the winds of life blow. Then, God parents us toward using our wings, reminding us that when we place our hope in Him, we will “soar on wings like eagles, … run and now grow weary, … walk and not be faint” (Isaiah 40:3).And when we use those wings to fly, we can be assured that God goes with us."Leave a comment for Jennifer: https://incourage.me/?p=249642--This Christmas, prepare your heart and home with Simply Jesus: The Heart of Christmas — a beautiful keepsake magazine from DaySpring.
