Well, we made it friends. This year is wrapping up and the new year is moving in, whether we're ready for it or not. When you think about this past year what are you feeling? Did you accomplish everything you wanted? It's so easy to focus on what went wrong like that goal we had set for ourselves but didn't quite make it. With that can come feelings of shame, guilt, or maybe even regret. This week my guest, Crystal Stine, shares all about freeing yourself from these feelings of shame and guilt. You'll hear how she is able to find rest in her busy life without guilt. I hope after listening to our conversation you walk away looking forward to the year ahead instead of dwelling on the year gone by. Crystal's passion is encouraging, equipping and inspiring women of all ages to embrace a work hard, rest well lifestyle that honors God - so they can work without shame and rest without guilt. Her first book, “Holy Hustle: Embracing a Work Hard, Rest Well Lifestyle” speaks to the woman who wrestles between working hard and making time for rest. In the heart of this episode, we dig deeply into this topic and unveil the lies you may be believing in about this issue. Crystal lives in Pennsylvania with her husband Matt and their daughter Madison. In this episode, we chat about: Overcoming the challenge between being a mom and working inside or outside the home. Why it's important to pursue the work we've been gifted/feel passionate about and why we shouldn't feel guilty for doing this. What the Bible actually says about women working in business or pursuing her creative passions, while stewarding her family well. How we can rest well AND work hard for God. Crystal Stine had a draining corporate job she put all her time and energy into. She planned to be in her job for a long time, but when the company cut her position and she had to redefine what healthy work and rest looked like. “It took a big loss for me to finally realize that I was swinging back and forth from striving and trying to control things to resting to the extreme and binge-watching Netflix. On both sides of that swing, I wasn't able to serve my family.” Now she advocates the idea of the Holy Hustle where you do the work God has put before you and rest well when it is done. Entrepreunership is one of my absolute favorite topics. For the month of May we are sitting down with 4 enterprising women to learn from their entrepreneurial journey. It's really important for me to showcase everyday women who remind us of what's possible with growth, some grit and a whole lot of God's grace. These 4 women each have a unique spin on entrepreneurship. Some of them work their businesses on the side while working for someone else. Others are full time entrepreneurs or have been in the past. Either way, they have tapped into their unique giftings and found work they love and are being paid for. Your going to love their stories! These week's featured entrepreneur is Crystal Stine. Crystal makes a living as a writer. She encourages women to pursue holy hustle - a work hard, rest well lifestyle that chases faith instead of fame. Mama to a 5-year-old (and married to her high school sweetheart),  Crystal is the author of “Creative Basics: 30 Days to Awesome Social Media Art,” creator of the popular “Clarity Coaching” Course, editor of "Craving Connection" and host of the annual Write 31 Days challenge. This week's episode is part 1 of a two part conversation I had with Crystal about developing your writing passion right where you are. We talk about Crystal's journey to writing as a career. She pulls back the curtain on what her writing life looks like *spoiler alert* it's not glamorous. We also discuss how blogging has evolved to allow women to make a living from home. Come back next week for Part 2. We get specific about the practice of writing and Crystal shares a little of her journey to her first traditionally published book.    Connect with Crystal online: Her website: CrystalStine.me Instagram: @CrystalStine   Show Notes: Write 31 Days   SUBSCRIBE ON ITUNES --- New podcasts episodes available on Thursdays.
