Mike and Joe review and discuss RetroTV's newest program, "Dracula's Kung-Fu Theater" and how it harkens back to old TV horror hosts, albeit with the hook that instead of monster flicks, we get old martial arts films. This leads into memories of hosts from their youth like Sir Graves Ghastly, Bob Wilkins, the Ghoul and others, as well as how current and more recent personalities like Svengoolie, Elvira, and Joe Bob Briggs provide today's horror hounds with similar experiences. Oh, yeah - and there's the debut of the newest feature, The SLP VHS Tape Challenge! Was Mike able to fill up a six hour video tape of things inspired by the topic "The One That Got Away"? Welcome to RIMScast. Your host is Justin Smulison, Business Content Manager at RIMS, the Risk and Insurance Management Society. Justin Smulison is excited this episode to tackle a topic that he’s always wanted to explore — and that is the restaurant services and food retail industry! And in this episode, RIMScast is switching up the format and having two back-to-back conversations with two fantastic guests. First up is Rick Roberts, the former RIMS President in 2015. In their short conversation, Justin and Rick discuss his experience taking and passing the RIMS-CRMP exam in 2016, the upcoming RIMS-CRMP Prep Virtual Workshop on October 13th–15th, and his advice to other risk professionals. Joining Justin afterward for the main portion of the podcast is Mike Simmons. Mike is the Vice President of Risk Management at WKS Restaurant Group, a large franchisee with five brands and 300 locations in 17 states. They’ve had some ups and downs in 2020 due to the pandemic and Mike shares his insights on the lessons they’ve learned in the last year, how these lessons have reshaped his risk philosophy as he looks to the future, and how he has personally handled leading (and even expand) during a pandemic. [14:00] As a west-coaster for most of his career, did Mike already have emergency preparedness plans already in mind for things like earthquakes, just based on his geography? Week 1 has come to an end and we do our best to talk the long game. We start off with a waiver wire pick available in 99.9% of ESPN leagues. If it was too late for your waiver wire we have way more good information for you. We follow up on last week's talk on air yards. Was Mike's prophecy that they would be down true? We talk about the air yards for players like Lamar Jackson, Kyler Murray, Kirk Cousins, Patrick Mahomes, and Russell Wilson. The surprising start of the Jacksonville Jaguars and what it could mean long term for fantasy managers. We discuss if a Gardner Minshew, DJ Chark, Lavishka Shenault, and James Robinson core is a legitimate foundation. One of us is concerned about Austin Ekeler not being involved in the pass game. If Tyrod Taylor loses the job and Justin Herbert takes over the concern goes away some but Joshua Kelley proved himself worthy of playing time. We discuss the train wreck the New York Jets are, why they should fire Adam Gase yesterday and how even when they do things we like they screw them up. Those were all the quick hits. We went into greater depth on the long term picture of Cam Newton and the new-look New England Patriots offense. We talk about what it projects for in the future, what it looks like against the rest of their schedule, and how soon he will need to see if his arm is back. We discuss the disgusting showing from the Cleveland Browns. We think Baker Mayfield will be done in Cleveland soon but project a potentially rosy future for him. The wide receiver group might not be what we thought it was going to be despite Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr. Lastly we discuss how much we love the future of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ben Roethlisberger showed enough to get excited about the pass catchers. JuJu Smith-Schuster looked like the JuJu of old but with a new Antonio Brown like weapon in Diontae Johnson. The improved James Washington provided quality on his targets and Chase Claypool looked NFL ready including making the hardest catch of the week. We close it out with a buy and sell that we think you can get good value on today and be ahead of your league. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/dynastymodepod/support

As the old saying goes, you can't make an omelette without breaking any eggs... or in Wallace's case, you can't do a weekly shop without buying 20 eggs. Arielle and Kem have the gorgeous Lauren Mahon in the studio this morning. We said goodbye to Leanne last night after a shock recoupling. Was Mike right to choose Sophie? Will there be a future for them as a couple? And what the HECK is going to happen in tonight's episode when Leanne confronts him?!Ding ding! Siannise and Rebecca went in for another round last night. Will the recoupling help solve the Luke - Wallace - Rebecca - Siannise square? Probs not, let's be completely honest here. Everyone else is quite loved up, eh? Shaughna and Callum continue to be a power couple and our man Nas is finally in a romantic couple (YES!) Finley and Paige got cosy in the hideaway - and everyone else was relieved to have a break from Finn's snoring for a night. Who needs dating apps when you have The Morning After? In this week's episode of the Por Favor Podcast, Mike & Gary begin the show as they discuss Mike and Suzie's annual Holiday voyage up to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. They had dinner at Narcoossee's and then relaxed and listened to the Grand Floridian Society Orchestra. Was Mike able to get the jazz player to the 'Bwooooomp' noise? Later, we wrap up 2018 as we discuss how they spend Christmas Eve. and Christmas. Where did they go, what did they do and more importantly what did they eat? Happy New Year!!!!!! Thanks for listening, Mike & Gary
Welcome listeners new and old to the Reel Film Nerds Podcast! Today your hosts Matt Hinshaw and Mysterious Mike get political while reviewing Spike Lee’s latest joint BlacKkKlansman. They really tried to keep politics out but it is very difficult with a film like this. Was Mike able to keep the Marvel Cinematic Universe tie-ins going? Heck ya he was, this makes 32 movies Mike has tied to the MCU. If you are wondering why it is only 32 out of 40 well Mike did not join the show until Episode #4: Black Panther, we have reviewed 3 MCU films, and lastly Mike did not appear on two episodes (Episode #9 and Episode #12). I know more information then you care to know but it is pretty cool that we are proving our theory. Mike and Matt both enjoyed this film and recommend you see it if it’s available near you. It is not a must for a movie theater, but it is worth your time if it is. Adam Driver and John David Washington were excellent along with the fascinating true story. The guys thought there were some political scenes and writing Spike Lee added to the film that were not needed. This film is already impactful enough in today’s climate without them. Mike gives BlacKkKlansman a respectable 3 out of 5 Reels. Matt thought it earned higher marks then that even though there were parts of the film he did not think were necessary. He gives BlacKkKlansman a 4 out of 5 Reels. Thank you for liking, subscribing, rating, reviewing, and telling your friends about our podcast. The guys will be back with Episode #41 on Thursday for another Legacy cast, the infamous film that launched the career of Kevin Smith, Clerks. Chat at you then. WOW, 31 episodes and we are still going? Why? This week Mike and Matt discuss another bad movie you should not go see, Skyscraper staring The Rock “Dwayne” Johnson. The boys talk about their love of Die Hard and why it is a Christmas movie no matter what Bruce Willis says! They also discuss how Skyscraper blatantly ripped it off without question. Was Mike able to keep his Marvel Cinematic Universe streak alive, of course! There is also even more talk about the unlimited movie services such as MoviePass, AMC A-List, and Cinemark Movie Club. There is no rant on this one just a regular review of a bad movie. Matt and Mike both found this movie to be nothing special. It was boring, a giant copy of great movies, a bad story, (seeing a pattern here?) just to name a few of its issues. Mike gives Skyscraper a 2 out of 5 Reels. Matt rated it a little bit higher (purely based on seeing hottie Neve Campbell on the big screen again) with a 2.5 out of 5 Reels. Thank you for subscribing and listening to our podcast! We will talk at you next Tuesday with our review of The Equalizer 2. Don’t forget we will be doing a special Legacy Cast a week from today in honor of the 30th annual Shark Week by Discovery Channel with the original summer blockbuster Jaws!!!
