Many of us may have not been diagnosed with COVID-19 since the very first case was reported in South Africa back in March 2020, but sometimes the anxiety becomes so much that one experiences phantom symptoms. When Darren, Keri and Sky took their new favourite feature of 2021 called Bingo Ball for a spin, some of the questions were so relatable that they will place you in the shoes of the team. Darren Maule is very careful when it comes to hygiene and COVID-19, but when the phantom symptoms high, he begins to trace his steps and movements to try and figure out where he might have contracted the virus. But, that's not all he does, Darren has a funny and weird test that also helps him to calm down. Listen to the podcast to find out what that test is, as well as Sky's phantom symptoms story.

Tread Merrily's Christmas Carol continues with the Bewitched episode "Humbug Not To Be Spoken Here." When Darren blows up at a client for trying to make him work on Christmas Eve Day, Samantha decides to call upon her old friend Santa for help. But in a surprising twist, it's not Darren who needs a refresher on Christmas Cheer. Instead, Sam and Santa visit the client, a powdered soup mix magnate, to remind him of the true meaning of the day. He also discovers his manservant can experience joy despite being poor. Justin and Erik lose their minds thanks to the soup mix angle. They discuss the two Darrens, but are more surprised by the character standing up for himself in this episode. Elizabeth Montgomery's round of Secret Mexican has a surprising result. Or is it not so surprising? The "my wife is a witch" metaphor also leads to some interesting thoughts about masculinity in the 1960s. Walt Disney's plan for EPCOT gets critiqued. Tread Perilously reiterates its complicated feelings about anime. The Crow is declared the perfect Gen X film. Erik once again proves he watched an appalling amount of television as a child and Suzie Bruisey proves to be the worst possible Christmas gift.

She sounds like a phlegm filled croaking witch from the bottom of a very dark bog. Nobody needs to hear something that scary, especially in these trying times. Don’t worry, it’s just a crappy cold. We’ve actually been working hard all week writing and researching. Our next episode will be a corking two parter! In the meantime time, just to keep some bloody murder in your ears while you self isolate,We have unlocked a previous patron only episode for today.Episode 135 The Boy is Mine and When Darren met KevinTeenagers Rachel Wade and Sarah Ludemann hated each others guts. Their feud started on social media then escalated to threatening phone calls and culminated in a violent confrontation that would leave one of them dead.A dispute over a fence line between neighbours, Kevin Skeyhill and Darren Lorke, escalated when punches were thrown. Alcohol and some covert surveillance exasperated the situation to the point where a fake gun and knife led to murder. Heading into the holidays, we are in a three week series thinking about Hospitality in terms of welcome, comply, and farewell. The holidays can be a space in time when anxious scarcity is the loudest voice and heaviest feeling. By practicing hospitality, we begin to depart that system and realize the wealth of what we have to offer to one another: generous abundance. It just so happens that ‘Celebrating Abundance’ is the title of the guide we’ll be using for Advent in December. See where we’re going with this one?   TEXT: John‬ ‭13:1, John‬ ‭14:27 TAKEAWAYS: When we are with people this next month, let’s remember to see them, listen to them, wish them well. Is there someone we didn’t properly say goodbye to? Might we need to circle back? In small ways and larger ways, what are we leaving with each other and what are we receiving from each other. When we remember each other, how do we feel? Some things to leave when we leave: A joke. A compliment. A truth. A note. A small gift. Food. Peace. RESOURCE: Watch this and revel in times gone by. When Darren played the song at the beginning of his teaching, we had no idea what was going on. We just knew we didn't know what to do, so some of us laughed. PRACTICE: This practice is not directly tied to the sermon this week, but it is relevant to the time of year and our heading into Advent. Brene Brown talks often about joy coming from gratitude. This week, practice an examen of gratitude: Take 10 minutes to think about the past 24 hours, past week, past year. Whatever length of time, think through it from beginning to end. Ask the Holy Spirit to be your guide in revealing the gifts you might come across. Practice gratitude for these things. Thank God for them. Thank people for them. Admit something: they did not come from you. SONGS WE SANG: Relentless - Bethel Music Skeleton Bones - John Mark McMillan Centuries - Aaron Strumpel You Found Me - Loud Harp
