Integrative Productivity™ Expert, Angela Kristen Taylor, is mostly known for creating the Productive Flow Mastery™ methodology, her integrative whole body approach to productivity and business growth. She is an engaging and relatable speaker who has made it her personal mission to help ambitious, purpose-driven entrepreneurs and sales professionals overcome stress & chaos so they can create the life and business they want and ultimately, the freedom and security they created their business to achieve. Angela's integrative productivity strategies helped her go from chaotic hot mess with big dreams and failed achievements to the woman who raised and homeschooled 5 children while running and growing a successful coaching company, and always creating the perfect balance for herself, her family, and her business, no matter what obstacle presented itself along the way. What you'll learn about in this episode: How Angela has found tremendous success and has managed to organize her life so that she works 4-5 hours a day and only 4 days a week Why Angela believes that productivity is rooted in emotion, and how dealing with the roots of her “emotional clutter” helped her in overcoming chaos in her life How Angela helps her coaching clients by first helping them to “set their GPS” with visualization exercises to help them identify their ideal life Why Angela's focus shifted to working on herself, and how in 2010 she decided to take a new direction in life after struggling through the real estate collapse What major changes Angela made that helped her in overcoming chaos and bringing order to her business and home life How the four key elements of the Productive Flow Mastery™ methodology are emotion, energy, time and focus Why the majority of Angela's entrepreneur clients struggled with a challenging or traumatic childhood, and why emotional work is key Why understanding your goals helps you take the right action to move toward them, block out time to do the work, and set your focus on the right work Why emotions are the root of many of our behaviors and unhealthy habits, and what steps Angela recommends you begin taking to begin overcoming chaos in your life Resources: Book a Complimentary Productivity Breakthrough Session with Angela at: https://meet.angelakristentaylor.com/book/u/me/ Website: http://angelakristentaylor.com LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/in/angelakristentaylor LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/company/angelakristentaylor Facebook Group: www.facebook.com/groups/productiveflow

“[I decided] I’m going to take a break from trying to force things to happen, and to force myself to build a business during a time when everyone is pretty exhausted, struggling, and trying to reinvent and rethink what they’re doing. I just hit pause.” - Angela Lussier Today I am doing something a bit different for the podcast, but it’s a conversation that I feel women entrepreneurs are not having often enough. You’ll meet a very successful woman who is open and honest about the challenges she faced in her life and business since the start of the pandemic, the crossroads she found herself at, and the profound lessons that she’s learned along the way.Angela Lussier started off as a self-described “shy girl” and is now an award-winning professional speaker, six-time author, two-time TEDx presenter, and entrepreneur. After starting a career consulting business in 2009 with no marketing budget, Angela decided to offer free workshops to become known in her field. In her first year of business, she gave hundreds of presentations, published her first book, spoke at TEDx, and started to receive calls from corporations and conferences asking her how much she charged to speak. This launched her into a speaking career she never expected to have.Today, Angela is the founder of the Speaker Sisterhood, one of Boston’s Best Speakers and she hosts Claim the Stage, a public speaking podcast for women. As you’ll hear, Angela has grown so much over the last year, and it was so refreshing to hear someone who has achieved so much share a behind-the-scenes look at what’s happening in her life. If you think that you are alone in struggling at this time, you’re really not. This episode is an eye-opener, and proof that each one of us is worthy. We just need to remember that it is ok to hit pause to enjoy the things in life that really matter.Connect with Angela: https://speakersisterhood.com/ Remember to hit SUBSCRIBE wherever you listen to podcasts! Are you a service-based business who wants to build your brand and get booked solid? When you think of the word 'champion', you probably think of a 'winner' -somebody who takes first place. But the true meaning of champion is more than winning a competition. It's a 13th Century concept for a person who fights on behalf of another. A champion advocates for something or someone, especially when that someone cannot do it themselves. This is the noble goal of our political system but I'm sad to say that our parliaments are not necessarily filled with the people's champions. That's why it's so incredible to have found one in Angela Vithoulkas. It's unlikely you've never heard about before because she is so noisy when it comes to small business being the engine room of our economy. Angela is a sitting councillor for the City of Sydney, and is the founder and leader of the Small Business Political Party. She's owned many small businesses, you've probably heard her on national television or radio, and she now brings all of that rich experience together into an excellent TV show called SMETV which you can see for free on Youtube. Despite all of this achievement, I think her most impressive feat is catching her first shoplifter at the age of 3. In today's conversation we'll talk about how business can and will rise from the ashes of COVID-19, but what I really hope we discover is - why is Angela our champion? Was it always there? Or was it created by circumstance? ------------------ Watch this episode on Youtube: https://youtu.be/f2r6x7NeNbU Angela's TV show: https://www.youtube.com/c/SMETVPodcasts Follow Angela: https://www.linkedin.com/in/angelavithoulkas/ https://www.facebook.com/VithoulkasAngela/ ------------------ Show Notes: 2:40 Angela was catching shoplifters at 3 years old 7:30 Greek restaurants in Sydney 11:22 The birth of Vivo Cafes 12:27 The formula for flipping businesses 15:00 The Vivo Cafe strategy 16:25 The Sydney Light Rail saga 20:00 The secrets of politics 25:25 The state of George St, Sydney 29:40 The birth of the Small Business Political Party 33:24 Why Angela became the people's champion 35:50 Lobby groups 38:15 Angela's message to business owners 41:00 SMEs have more hope than big business 42:00 Predictions for Melbourne 45:00 the invention of Pty Ltd companies 46:00 Victoria needs to live with the virus 53:10 Why did Victoria abandon its pandemic response plan? 54:34 Melbourne adopted the Wuhan response to COVID-19 58:50 Victoria's failure to respond to the Aged Care crisis 1:03:00 Vote for your local champions regardless of party 1:04:30 Finding your local champion 1:05:38 Forcing MPs to work harder 1:10:40 Voting for people who actually care 1:13:19 What makes politics worth it 1:15:55 SMETV Gives people a voice 1:20:40 A dictatorship rules the City of Sydney Council 1:24:00 Political campaigns cost millions of dollars 1:28:30 Melbourne responds to Angela's message of solidarity 1:30:25 Angela's biggest life lesson

Angela Bassa is the director of data science and head of data science and machine learning at iRobot, a technology company focused on robotics (you might have clean floors thanks to a Roomba). Prior to joining iRobot, Angela wore several different hats, including working as a financial analyst at Morgan Stanley, the senior manager of big data analytics and platform engineering at EnerNOC, and even a scuba instructor in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Join Angela and I as we discuss the role data science plays in robotics and explore: Why Angela doesn’t believe in a division between technical and non-technical skill Why Angela came to iRobot and her mission What data breadcrumbs are and what you should know about them The skill Angela believes matters most when turning data science into a producer of decision support Why the last mile of the UX is often way longer than one mile The critical role expectation management plays in data science, how Angela handles delivering surprise findings to the business, and the marketing skill she taps to help her build trust Resources and Links Twitter: @AngeBassa Angela’s Website iRobot Designing for Analytics Seminar Quotes from Today's Episode “Because these tools that we use sometimes can be quite sophisticated, it's really easy to use very complicated jargon to impart credibility onto results that perhaps aren't merited. I like to call that math-washing the result.” — Angela “Our mandate is to make sure that we are making the best decisions—that we are informing strategy rather than just believing certain bits of institutional knowledge or anecdotes or trends. We can actually sort of demonstrate and test those hypotheses with the data that is available to us. And so we can make much better informed decisions and, hopefully, less risky ones.” — Angela “Data alone isn't the ground truth. Data isn't the thing that we should be reacting to. Data are artifacts. They're breadcrumbs that help us reconstruct what might have happened.” — Angela [When getting somebody to trust the data science work], I don't think the trust comes from bringing someone along during the actual timeline. I think it has more to do with bringing someone along with the narrative.—Angela “It sounds like you've created a nice dependency for your data science team. You’re seen as a strategic partner as opposed to being off in the corner doing cryptic work that people can't understand.” — Brian “When I talk to data scientists and leaders, they often talk about how technical skills are very easy to measure. You can see them on paper, you can get them in the interview. But there are these other skills that are required to do effective work and create value.” — Brian Transcript Brian: Welcome back to Experiencing Data. Brian here, of course, and I'm happy to have the Head of Data Science, Data Engineering, and Machine Learning at iRobot on the line, Angela Bassa. How are you? Angela: I am great, Brian. How are you? Brian: I'm doing great. What's shaking today? You're up in northern Massachusetts, outside of Boston, is that correct? Angela: Yep, just outside of Boston. Brian: Yes. Angela is the founder of the Speaking School for Women, an online program that trains women to become paid speakers. She is also the founder of the Speaker Sisterhood, a network of speaking clubs for women, and the host of Claim the Stage, a public speaking podcast for women. Everything in her traditional upbringing suggested that she was on the right track with her life. But for Angela, she realized that this kind of dream wasn’t going to cut it for her. When Angela left her job as a therapist in a mental unit and moved back to Nashville, TN in 2003, she got a job working at a local hospital. Soon afterward, she took on her first wedding planning client “just for fun”. This lead to the next client and the next wedding, and pretty soon, she had a full-time job AND a full-time wedding planning business. By 2009, she was working 21 hour days, seven days a week. Then in 2011, she got a phone call that ended up changing her entire life and making her choose between her wedding planning business or her hospital job. With only 24 hours to think about it, she decided to take the plunge and hand in her resignation. She quit her job, jumped on the self-employment bandwagon and left her “traditional” life behind her. Today, Angela is a successful (and extremely busy) wedding and event planner. She also teaches classes for other businesses owners on how to integrate technology into their businesses to become more proficient and profitable and she is working to come out with her own products later this year. Listen to Angela’s story about making the switch into self-employment and what she’s learned along the way.
