Animal Farm is being made into a game! Today's biweekly podcast features our gaming bucketlists aka video game related things we want to do before we, well, die. We got it all from tattoos and arcade cabinets to expos and game ranks. Listen to us go back and forth on our gamer goals. _________________________________________________________ COMMENT BELOW: with what's on your gaming bucket list! _________________________________________________________ You can also find our biweekly podcast here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/b... https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/bit-... http://bitbybitgamers.podomatic.com/ You can find us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/BitByBitGaming Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bitbybitgamers Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/BitByBitGamers/ Our official website: https://bitbybitgamers.com/
We discuss continued support for existing games, specifically Overwatch and Splatoon 2. With new weapons and characters always being added we could play these games forever... and we just might have to if we want to keep up. Our discussion involves 1. Splatoon 2's and its ongoing support 2. Overwatch and its ongoing support 3. How continued updates and expansions affect us? 4. Our final thoughts --------------------------------------------------------------- Details/podcast spoilers: Jess raves about Overwatch, is pro Doomfist, and loves how Overwatch is new player friendly while respecting ranked players who are in it for the long haul (ex. Doomfist wasn't immediately available for ranked play because he might not be balanced just yet). Janet loves Splatoon 2 but between the hats, shirts, shoes, guns, game modes, and maps, she's starting to realize her dreams of being the best Splatoon player in the midwest may be a bit unrealistic. In many ways, on going content rewards players who are here to stay by keeping them entertained but (sometimes) inadvertently punishes players who try to jump back in (uhhhh... what's happening???). If you want to be a diverse gamer these title might just ruin your life in the best way possible. It's hard out there for a heroes and squids. --------------------------------------------------------------- Podcast versions: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/b... http://www.stitcher.com/podcast/bit-b... http://bitbybitgamers.podomatic.com/ You can find us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/BitByBitGaming Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bitbybitgamers Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/BitByBitGamers/ Our official website: https://bitbybitgamers.com/
We discuss the end of handheld consoles and (yet) the popularity of handheld gaming. Our discussion involves 1. The future of handhelds or lack thereof 1:35 2. Our favorite handhelds 15:44 3. If this is the end, what now? 26:30 --------------------------------------------------------------- Details/podcast spoilers: Janet doubts a handheld console will ever return but ultimately thinks the ball is in Nintendo's court. Jess claims handheld consoles aren't dying because the Nintendo Switch has given them a form of new life. Both of us reminisce over the days of GameBoy carrying cases, long car rides, and so many gaming accessories. And finally, we decide that it'd be good to get in to mobile gaming (the overlooked handheld) but neither of us know wuite how to seek it out. --------------------------------------------------------------- Podcast versions: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/b... http://www.stitcher.com/podcast/bit-b... http://bitbybitgamers.podomatic.com/ You can find us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/BitByBitGaming Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bitbybitgam... We discuss the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and how we feel about remasters in general. Our discussion involves 1. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy 5:08 2. Our favorite remasters 12:51 3. What kind of games should be remastered? 20:20 --------------------------------------------------------------- Details/podcast spoilers: Jess played Crash 2/3 as a kid but was never a big fan. She hasn't played the N. Sane Trilogy because she doesn't have a PS4 but she wouldn't be dying to play it, even if she did. Janet loved the old games but hates this one. While the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy looks gorgeous (all the coding was done from scratch and that's damn impressive) it controls horribly. Playing the game feels clunky and the depth perception issues cause way too many cheap deaths. In the end the N. Sane trilogy is all frustration and no satisfaction. 0/10 would buy again. But things aren't all horrible. We love when our favorite games get remastered (like the Jak trilogy or Skyrim) and love it even more when there are bonuses added: see: new Pokemon/features and Skyrim mods. Plus remasters can be a nice way to get around to last gen/older games without having to do a visual downgrade. But when it comes to remasters there is such a thing as too soon... we're still buying it though so I guess, at the end of the day, we are the problem. QUESTION: How did you guys feel about the N. Sane Trilogy? What are your favorite remasters? And what do you want from remasters? Let us know! --------------------------------------------------------------- Podcast versions: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/b... http://www.stitcher.com/podcast/bit-b... http://bitbybitgamers.podomatic.com/ You can find us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/BitByBitGaming Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bitbybitgam... We go over all the info we have about the SNES Classic, what games we are looking forward to, and are we buying this system. The console releases September 29th, 2017. It's 79.99 but comes with two controllers and the following 21 games: Super Mario World The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Super Metroid Earthbound Final Fantasy III Super Mario Kart Secret of Mana Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars Mega Man X Street Fighter II Turbo Super Punch Out Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island F-Zero Kirby Super Star Contra III Castlevania IV Donkey Kong Country StarFox Super Ghouls ’N Ghosts Kirby’s Dream Course StarFox 2 What's the story on preorders for all our American friends? We've yet to find out but suspect they will happen soon. We discuss Why StarFox 2 never came out. Janet gushes over the SNES which was her first console EVER. Obviously she's hyped for Yoshi's Island, Kirby (because he's adorable and freaking amazing), F-Zero, Donkey Kong, and Super Mario World (for the culture). And even though she has never played it she's ready to jump into Super Metroid, Star Fox 2, and more. Jess is all about that Donkey Kong Country which she used to play to Shania Twain (why? no one knows. This is just what she did). Plus Kirby's Dream Course is going to be a blast since Jess was a pro as a kid. Super Mario World is also on her replay docket which she played when she was 15. Jess is ready for the glory of Yoshi's Island, Super Metroid, and more. We both need to hit up Earthbound. Our plans? Janet dreams to pre-order it: flip one and keep one but that's a lot of dreaming. Jess wants the console too and thinks it'll be easier to get than the Mini NES was but Janet is more cynical. What are your thoughts? Will you buy the SNES classic? What games are you excited about? Nintendo E3 2017! Jess and Janet discuss Nintendo's Spotlight featuring big and oddly circular boobs, adorable IP's continuations, and vague announcements. Jess is put off by the outdated, cheesy dialogue of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Fire Emblem Warriors (which Janet agrees with whole heartedly) but she might still check them out. Both are really excited for Kirby 2018 and Yoshi 2018 and some adorable platformers that seem to offer multiplayer options. We know a "core Pokemon RPG" is coming to Nintendo Switch but what that really means is still up for debate. Could we be seeing stars? Who knows. Janet and Jess also discuss the potential death of the 3DS. Janet is ready to bury it but in a shallow grave since Metroid: Samus returns is coming out for the console (why Nintendo didn't mention this in their spotlight is beyond us). We also finally get Metroid Prime 4 and even though all we got was the title it's enough to steal the show because E3. The whole thing ended with a longer trailer for Super Mario Odyssey, Janet's potential GOTY (next to Breath of the Wild and FIFA 18). We geek out over the glory of sandbox Mario, critique the poncho and sombrero outfit, and ask why Princess Peach always has to be some whack. This year Nintendo gave us a lot to be excited about, now if we could only buy their console. We end our talk with a few wrap up questions: who had the best E3 conference? And what was the "steal the show" game of this year?
Ubisoft E3 2017! Janet and Jess talk all things Ubisoft and there was a quite a range of games. Mario + Rabbids was known but surprisingly welcome, Mario shot someone, and Miyamoto is cute enough that you can't be mad at these creepo looking rabbids. The Crew 2 is rolling on to the scene but we didn't really play The Crew 1 so... Jess is excited about Skull and Bones and Janet is as on the fence as ever. We both researched what the heck Starlink: Battle for Athens was so you wouldn't have to and it seems... complicated but hey, here's another thing for collectors to add to their shelves. Far Cry 5 will probably not be a bad game but we're not convinced it will stand out in the crowd, that being said Boomer is DOTY. And, of course, Beyond Good & Evil fans got just what their hearts desired. Yay for those fans! We haven't played the original (cut us some slack, we were in 3rd grade!) but can't wait to meet one of the most beloved female characters of all time.
Sony E3 2017! Jess and Janet discuss Sony's conference from zombies hanging from the ceiling to giant screens flying in. Lots of release dates and windows for some quality games. These VR games look good, too bad they're only on VR. Janet is dragged back into the world of Uncharted with Lost Legacy and you know what, that's fine. Horizon Zero Dawn is getting DLC but neither of us have played the game yet (due to a lack of a PS4 and a not-lack of Breath of the Wild). Days Gone is Jess approved for now and she may be jumping into Monster Hunter Worlds. Shadow of the Colossus is getting a much needed remake but it might not matter much because we found the game boring and the camera was awful. Call of Duty will probably never win us over and that's okay. God of War is finally coming out aka Dad of war. There is finally some hype around Detroit Become Human (we've been here since 2016). And Spider-Man looks like a damn good time. Not bad Sony.
Bethesda E3 2017! Jess and Janet react to and discuss everything happening in Bethesda Land. Listen to us talk critically about the conference but overall love the framing and appreciate a lot of the titles. We may be the only two people on the internet who thought Bethesda didn't suck so you don't want to miss out. We talk about how it seems like nothing can convince us to invest in VR (but Doom VR and Fallout 4 VR are... no exception really). Watch us talk about Link Skyrim and motion controls and be confused about what's DLC in Dishonored. Quake Champions is a thing and good for them! You can kill some Nazis in Wolfenstein II which could be some good stress relief. And last but not least, Jess's favorite game (not) The Evil Within gets a sequel.
Microsoft E3 2017! Janet and Jess discuss all things xbone. We got a lot of feelings from lukewarm to love. Microsoft's Project Scorpio gets a real name and its Xbox X, seriously. Cuphead is mentioned again and we're not sure how we feel about Sea of Thieves any more. Watch Jess have a crisis regarding Bioware and Janet toss her hood up in honor of teen angst (and Life is Strange before the storm). ------------------------------- We of course, recap some of the highlights from Xbox X's release date and price($499 this november) to, of course, games! We got indie titles like The Last Night, Cuphead, The Artful Escape, Tacoma, and Ori and the Blind Forest Will of the Whisps as well as larger titles like Forza Motorsport, Metro Exodus, State of Decay 2, and Anthem.
Jess and Janet react to EA's E3 2017 conference. Watch Jess get psyched for Need For Speed and A Way Out while Janet questions everything but confirms she'll buy FIFA 18 twice. Plus we do a mini recap of the conference. This year, EA Play featured classic sports sims like Madden 18 and FIFA 18, old reliables like Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Need For Speed Payback. And fortunately, EA Originals is still releasing indie titles: A Way Out had gamers across the internet pretty hyped for some couch co-op action. What are you guys looking forward to? How did you like EA's conference?
Jess and Janet reflect on E3 2016 by rewatching our old coverage. We got some things right (Horizon Zero Dawn was a hit that got compared to Breath of the Wild) and some things not so much (Janet never bought Pokemon GO Plus and Jess never got a full version of We Happy Few). And, of course, we're still waiting on some things Sea of Thieves. The question is will we hear about Cup Head again this year?
We talk E3! What do we expect from Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, Bethesda, etc? Find out with today's episode.
