Howdy, Nerds! We're breaking into 2024 with a new type of episode: a Nerd Out. In these episodes, which will be in addition to our regular monthly episodes (but may not be monthly themselves), we're sitting down and nerding out about something we're really into right now. This first Nerd Out is about the Table Top RPG campaigns that we're currently involved in. Josh, Aaron, and Cody sit down to talk about four different campaigns in four different rule systems. Call of Cthulhu, Pathfinder 1st Edition, D&D 5e (with some Bloodborne thrown in), and a fan created Pokemon RPG called Pokemon Table Top Adventures. Let us know what you're playing at: hillshavenerds@gmail.com And come hangout with us on Facebook! Lee makes all kinds of Retro Gaming content on Youtube! Grab your beauty blender, Shelley Gang—the Girlos are talking Makeup Tutorials! Holly, Shelley, and Julie discuss the pros and cons of those glamor how-tos. Are they a great way to learn neon eyeliner tips, or are they a reminder that you don't even have neon eyeliner? Plus, "Five Girls Corner" uncovers which Seinfeld character Shelley thinks she is (you will truly never believe it). Thanks to Alicia Cutts for the topic suggestion, and listen to Cubones & Catacombs for Pokemon RPG fun!
Let's get gingham, Shelley Gang—the Girlos are talking picnics! Holly, Shelley, Julie, and Kellie discuss the pros and cons of those outdoor eating bonanzas. Are they a placid way to eat a sandwich, or are they scenes for food voyeurs everywhere? Plus, "Kid Jokes" answers the question: what is an annoying sushi manager, anyway? Thanks to Corbin Miller for the topic submission, and check out Cubones & Catacombs for Pokemon RPG fun times!
Richard Pullman talks with Syntarsus about his clever Pokémon RPG. We also touch on... A good system tells you how to do things, a bad system tells you what you can do. The benefits of a complex RPG system. How oldschool RPGs can create more memorable and emergent stories than new school games trying to structure an epic story. Why GURPS might unironically be the best! And dishonest system promises. It was fun and delved into a lot of fundamental questions of design and returns to the basic reasons why we need better systems than D&D, which is a topic that never gets old.

We take a trip back to Kanto with Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu. This is a new Pokemon RPG game and the first full game for the Switch with Pokemon (aside from Pokken). In this game, it's mostly a remake of the original Red, Blue and Yellow but in full 3D. It's a bit toned down from the originals and not as challenging, but still immensely fun as Brett explains in his impressions. Austin also dives deep into the dungeon with Enter the Gungeon. On sale on the Switch, he talks about how much fun he's having with this game on the Switch and why everyone should pick it up for such a good price. In our news, Remedy's former CEO starts a new studio focused on “underserved” markets and celebrities are frustrated with Fortnite for selling emotes about their dances or moves from tv shows or rap videos. We also revisit women in Battlefield V and share our opinion on how we may agree with them not being in the game but for a much different reason than historical accuracy. Instead, we're talking about the violent treatment to not just men, but women since you can play as both genders in these war zones. Finally, our discussion explores some topics brought up in a great discussion between games journalist Jason Schreier and Youtube Influencer YongYea. We talk about gamer rage, consumerism, developers and publishers in gaming and where the future of gaming is going. Check out video clips of our news every week over at youtube.com/theinnergamer. Welcome back to CU Towers. It's been an eventful couple of weeks and with it being far enough away from big events like E3 and close enough to the very quiet looking summer, hosts John Miller and Andrew Brooker finally have some things to talk about. What things? Well, let me tell you. The boys get into release date news for Pokemon: Lets Go Pikachu and Evee and discuss the possibility of forwards compatibility with the upcoming Pokemon RPG. They get into the multiplayer mode finally coming to No Man's Sky and talk in depth about the upcoming Darksiders 3 now that Gunfire Games has confirmed it's release date and special editions. Elsewhere, John sinks his teeth into the first couple of entries in the Halo: Master Chief Collection and Brooker gushes over his latest completion of Darksiders: The Warmastered Edition. Is there anything worth playing in the Halo remasters? Could Brooker possibly have anything left to say about War's adventures through the apocalypse? Come find out. Join us again next time, but until then why not join us on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Youtube.

Nintendo E3 2017! Jess and Janet discuss Nintendo's Spotlight featuring big and oddly circular boobs, adorable IP's continuations, and vague announcements. Jess is put off by the outdated, cheesy dialogue of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Fire Emblem Warriors (which Janet agrees with whole heartedly) but she might still check them out. Both are really excited for Kirby 2018 and Yoshi 2018 and some adorable platformers that seem to offer multiplayer options. We know a "core Pokemon RPG" is coming to Nintendo Switch but what that really means is still up for debate. Could we be seeing stars? Who knows. Janet and Jess also discuss the potential death of the 3DS. Janet is ready to bury it but in a shallow grave since Metroid: Samus returns is coming out for the console (why Nintendo didn't mention this in their spotlight is beyond us). We also finally get Metroid Prime 4 and even though all we got was the title it's enough to steal the show because E3. The whole thing ended with a longer trailer for Super Mario Odyssey, Janet's potential GOTY (next to Breath of the Wild and FIFA 18). We geek out over the glory of sandbox Mario, critique the poncho and sombrero outfit, and ask why Princess Peach always has to be some whack. This year Nintendo gave us a lot to be excited about, now if we could only buy their console. We end our talk with a few wrap up questions: who had the best E3 conference? And what was the "steal the show" game of this year?
The Terrible Warriors are on vacation! We'll return in September with all new campaigns to enjoy and share but for now we're going to go to the wayback machine and bring back some of our favourite campaigns we've ever done. When Julian Spillane approached us three years ago with a home-brew fan-made Pokemon RPG that he had discovered... well, we couldn't resist.... "Greetings! I'm Professor Oak! Are you a boy or a girl?" Thus begins a brand new campaign involving the Terrible Warriors jumping into the world of Pokemon! Steve, Erika, Cassie, Orie and Shane are new Pokemon Trainers, tasked by Professor Oak to not only collect and catalog every single Pokemon, but they are recruited to end the cruel reign of terror at the hands of Team Rocket. Our Terrible Warriors must locate a secret facility believed to be genetically modifying Pokemon by Rocket. Will they succeed in saving Kanto? Listen to find out! Gotta Catch 'em all! For all updates on future campaigns, follow us on twitter @dicewarriors and let us know what your favourite campaigns were at feedback@terriblewarriors.com Terrible Warriors: Julian Spillane, Steve Saylor, Erika Szabo, Cassie Chui, Orie Falconer, Shane Flynn, and Justin Ecock
