John and Bobby broke down how RAG actually works and why the real battle isn't the LLM, it's the chaos sitting in PDFs, Excel files, post-job reports, random folder structures, and handwritten scans. They showed how extraction, chunking, and embeddings fall apart when data is messy, and why clean structure, good metadata, and consistent organization matter way more than people want to admit. They also hit on how tools like MCP and text-to-SQL let AI pull from WellView, production systems, and databases in one place, instead of everyone living in 20 different apps. The takeaway was simple: AI gets powerful fast when the data is ready, but if the inputs are junk, you'll just get faster junk back.Click here to watch a video of this episode.Join the conversation shaping the future of energy.Collide is the community where oil & gas professionals connect, share insights, and solve real-world problems together. Children's oral health is in a crisis: it's the most common reason for children to visit a hospital and it's not improving as quickly as we need. Professor Peter Day, paediatric dentist and professor of children's oral health, speaks with us around the stark facts on tooth decay – it affects 10% of three-year-olds and 48% of 15-year-olds – with impact on a child's ability to sleep, eat, talk and go to school, and on the health service – and how community interventions can help. Plus, how supervised tooth brushing can provide economic as well as health benefits. Professor Peter Day is a Paediatric Dentist (in Leeds and Bradford) and Professor of Children's Oral Health at the University of Leeds with interests and expertise in children's oral health research and dental trauma. He speaks with the podcast host and paediatrician, Dr Emma Lim. Download transcript (PDF) This podcast is a collaboration between the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and Odland. Today we were talking about business jargon! I wanted to touch base to see if you really think business jargon is the best practice when communicating in the trades. Do you think it brings something to the table, or should the phrase “Drill Down” only be used in relation to the job!? We did a deep dive on the topic and spoke to Maria Coulter and Grant Gundelfinger to see whether it has a place in our industry or if we should phase it out. Plus, we looped in our listeners to see if the ducks were aligned, and there's the pub lunch quiz.Catch Clive On Fix Radio Monday - Thursday 12 PM - 3 PM Across The UK On DAB Radio And Online At https://www.fixradio.co.uk/

Episode 4071: Drilling Down what Is Happening In Bucks County
Interview with Neil Young, MD & CEO of Elixir Energy Ltd.Our previous interview: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/elixir-energy-pioneers-major-gas-resource-in-australias-bowen-basinRecording date: 11th November 2024Elixir Energy (ASX:EXR) is an Australian gas exploration company focused on developing a large unconventional gas resource in the Grandis Basin of Queensland. The company recently completed a one-year appraisal drilling campaign that, while delivering mixed results, has provided valuable data to guide the next phase of development. The company's Managing Director, Neil Young, remains confident in the potential of the play despite the final well flowing at a subeconomic rate of 1 MMcf/d. Young attributes this to operational issues rather than reservoir quality, stating, "We are confident that if we had to drill exactly the same well tomorrow without interruptions, we would get a commercial flow rate and above."Elixir's geologic model points to a potentially multi-TCF gas resource across its acreage. The company has identified multiple prospective zones and Young believes there is significant room for optimization through techniques like horizontal drilling and enhanced stimulation designs. He compares the current state of the play to the early days of the major US unconventional developments. With the initial appraisal campaign complete, Elixir is now focused on securing an experienced industry partner to help fund the next phase of drilling. The company is in discussions with a range of potential partners from supermajors to large US independents. While Young expects the farm-out process to take some time, Elixir is in no rush with a 15-year license in hand.In the interim, Elixir is pursuing several smaller-scale deals to generate near-term cash flow. This includes a potential farm-out of a conventional prospect on its acreage and the possible sale of a legacy asset in Mongolia. A key part of the Elixir story is the company's very favorable macro backdrop. Natural gas prices in Queensland have surged to A$12-15/GJ, around 4x the US benchmark, due to declining local production and strong LNG export demand. With the market expected to remain tight for the foreseeable future, Young sees a significant opportunity for Elixir to help fill the supply gap longer-term.The key risk to the Elixir story is that the company still has much to prove at the asset level before its acreage can be considered commercial. Further appraisal work is needed to demonstrate the well productivity and cost structure to attract a major partner. This will likely require additional capital, which could prove challenging in the current market. For investors with a higher risk tolerance, Elixir offers significant upside potential if the company is successful in delineating its unconventional gas resource. The stock could re-rate meaningfully if Elixir is able to secure a major farm-in deal in the coming months. In the meantime, investors should track the company's progress closely with a particular focus on near-term drilling results and partnership discussions.View Elixir Energy's company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/elixir-energySign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

Tom Terronez joins Cyber Work to discuss security in an industry that doesn't always make the headlines for security news: dentistry. Terronez co-founded Medix Dental, an IT and security provider for the dental industry, 20 years ago, and has the lowdown on some of the specific security issues dentist offices and networks face. It is an uphill battle to get the industry to acknowledge its extreme insecurity, and I find out how a shared love of Hall & Oates got Terronez into this very specific area of the security sphere. Today's show is important for everyone involved in copy. It's especially important for the big thinkers, the visionaries, the big-picture people. We're going to talk about a subject that makes some people quake in their boots. And that subject is details. They are not as easy to deal with for some people as they are for others. Details do not seem as important as The Big Idea to a lot of marketers and copywriters. And listen to what people say about details. The famous architect, Mies van Der Rohe, said “God is in the details.” He also said, “Each material has its specific characteristics which we must understand if we want to use it. This is no less true of steel and concrete.” So you can see he was really into details himself. Then there's the famous saying people say a lot on TV and in movies, and also every day in real life. That saying is: “The devil is in the details.” So right there, we have details spanning the moral spectrum from God to the devil. Clearly, they are important. But the question remains: Are they good or are they bad? And how about this saying: “Don't sweat the small stuff. And it's all small stuff.” Hmmm. Sounds like they're talking about details there, too. This applies to copy because we have a natural bias against details. In this way: We are about things that are dramatic and exciting. We like to make big promises. We are seeking to guide emotions in a powerful way. And think about it. A headline like “The important difference between black and tortoise-shell plastic barrettes from Dollar Tree” just wouldn't cut it. Or… would it? We explored this today. I wanted to put this together because of a conversation I had with a client who had nothing but glowing testimonials and over-the-top claims on a sales page. The person I was talking with was very successful personally, and had a very successful business. But I quickly realized he was leaving a lot of money on the table because there might be a couple of problems for some prospects: • Credibility • Identification Now there's always tension between awesome excellence (which may be the God's honest truth about your product, your personal story, and the results people eventually get working with you or using your product) and the everyday life your prospects are now living. The emotional part of your prospect, the part that dreams, wants to think big. Loves to imagine wild, wonderful, luxurious scenarios in the future. But, the rational part of your prospect needs to confirm that what they are reading, or have recently read, isn't a just scam and a waste of their money. This is where credibility and identification come in. At least some part of your copy, to perform at its best, needs to be credible to your prospect. That mean, from a practical point of view, talking about things they are familiar with in their real world. Right now. Not in the future. Identification comes in when the prospect can see themself right now in some way in your copy. Maybe in the before part of a before-and-after testimonial. Maybe in a description of an ordinary person struggling with the same problem your prospect struggles with. Maybe in a bullet point that talks about improving something specific in their current life. Resolving the tension between over-the-top and the mundane stuff of the real world requires delving into the nitty-gritty. That is, details. A related tension that causes us problems in our copy is the tension between the grandeur of the big picture—walking on the beach at sunset in some exotic tropical location—and the unglamorous detailed experience of the prospect's daily life—the embarrassment and discomfort of toenail fungus. Both are about feet, right? Walking, and toenails. Now you might or might not mention both things in the same promo, much less in the same sentence like I just did. But being able to shift lenses, so to speak—to go from the wide shot on the beach to the close up of the toenail—is more important and useful a lot more often than you might think. We talked about how the nitty-gritty fits into testimonials and case studies, bullet points, and other parts of copy, and why you can't ignore it, even if it doesn't seem that important to you. Because it is important to your prospects. Interview with Tom Meyer, President & CEO of Archer Exploration (CSE: RCHR)Recording date: 6th July 2023Archer Exploration (RCHR) is a leading nickel exploration and development company with a strong emphasis on the Canadian market. Headed by Tom Meyer, the company's President and CEO, Archer Exploration focuses on two key projects in their portfolio. One of these projects is the Grasset project, situated in Quebec, while the other comprises a large land package of nickel exploration projects in the Sudbury Camp.Tom Meyer brings a wealth of experience to the company, having worked as a metallurgist and mining analyst in the past. His background includes working for prominent consulting firms, as well as renowned mining companies like Inco (now Vale) and Falconbridge (now Glencore). With his expertise, Tom Meyer possesses a deep understanding of mineral processing and nickel minerals in Canada.Archer Exploration's flagship asset is the Grasset project, located in the Abitibi region of Quebec. This project gained significant attention in 2012 when nickel was accidentally discovered during gold exploration activities. Previously owned by Balmoral, the project became non-core when it was acquired by Walbridge, which focused primarily on gold assets. Recognizing the potential value of the Grasset project, Archer Exploration seized the opportunity to acquire it from Walbridge. The Grasset project stands out due to its high-grade nickel sulfides and exceptionally low carbon footprint. It offers a cleaner and more stable source of nickel compared to laterite deposits in Southeast Asia, which often present environmental challenges. Archer Exploration aims to expand the resource base at Grasset by drilling deeper and defining additional nickel units. The company plans to double the intersection depth below the existing resource, potentially reaching depths of 1,200 to 1,500 meters.Despite temporary pauses in operations due to forest fires in Quebec, Archer remains committed to advancing its exploration efforts at Grasset. Over the next six months, the company aims to complete its drilling program, incorporate data from various drilling techniques, and refine the geological model. Archer Exploration's comprehensive approach positions it as a promising player in the Canadian nickel market, with significant potential for resource growth and value creation.

The United States has pledged to reduce its reliance on fossil fuels, but Russia's war in Ukraine set off a bonanza for liquefied natural gas, or LNG. Today, we look at how energy companies and the Biden administration are backsliding on promises to move away from oil and gas. In response to Europe's need for natural gas as it lost access to Russian supplies, America's largest exporter of liquefied natural gas, Cheniere Energy, is expanding its facilities in Corpus Christi, Texas. Reporter Elizabeth Shogren talks with local residents who are organizing to fight the expansion and discovers that many LNG contracts are not with Europe after all. During the 2020 presidential campaign, Joe Biden promised to end drilling for oil and gas on federal land and offshore waters. And on his first day in office, he froze new drilling leases. But the administration backtracked and instead has increased the number of leases it's offering to oil and gas companies. Host Al Letson gets a report card on Biden's climate policy from two experts who are tracking his environmental record. For many years, prominent Republicans disputed the existence of climate change and fought against environmental policies. That didn't sit well with a young conservative college student, who in 2016 tried to put climate change on his party's agenda. Reveal reporter Jonathan Jones talks with the founder of the American Conservation Coalition and tracks how successful the group has been in getting Republican legislators to address climate change. Republicans and Democrats may struggle to find common ground on addressing climate change. But for a tiny, predominantly Indigenous community in Alaska, it's already too late. Reporter Emily Schwing went to Chevak to report on the damage from a recent storm and soon discovered a problem with the federal government's response. Many residents don't speak English as their first language, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency is required to translate disaster relief notices into local languages. But FEMA bungled the translations, delaying much-needed aid and sowing distrust.
