Rappers Alaska, Curly Castro, and Zilla Rocca discuss music and all sorts of nonsensical nonsense.
best hip hop, rap, underground, dope, side, must listen, love this podcast, good, like, great, mc's.
Listeners of Call Out Culture that love the show mention:The Call Out Culture podcast is a must-listen for any hip-hop fan. I stumbled across this podcast during the Covid lockdowns and was immediately hooked. With a good backlog of episodes to catch up on, I quickly became a dedicated listener and now look forward to a new episode every week. The hosts, Alaska, Zilla, and Castro, are not only knowledgeable about the genre but also bring their own unique perspectives as rappers themselves.
One of the best aspects of The Call Out Culture podcast is its ability to introduce listeners to new music and artists. As a fan of Alaska's group Hangar 18, I was excited to discover the music of Castro and Zilla through this podcast. Additionally, the show features a range of guests from the hip-hop world, allowing listeners to explore different eras and styles within the genre. The discussions on classic albums and artists are insightful and often lead me to revisit old favorites or explore new ones.
Another highlight of this podcast is the chemistry between the hosts. Their friendship shines through in their conversations, creating an entertaining and relaxed atmosphere. I appreciate how they often have differing opinions and aren't afraid to disagree with each other. This adds an extra layer of depth to their discussions as they challenge each other's perspectives while maintaining respect for one another.
However, one drawback of The Call Out Culture podcast is the audio quality at times. There have been instances where Castro's mic level or audio quality hasn't been up to par with the others, leading to moments where his volume may be too loud or unclear compared to his co-hosts or guests. While this doesn't detract significantly from the overall listening experience, it can be a minor annoyance.
In conclusion, The Call Out Culture podcast is a gem in the hip-hop podcast landscape that offers a unique blend of entertainment and knowledge about the genre. Whether you're a fan of underground or mainstream hip-hop, this podcast provides an engaging and informative listening experience. The chemistry between the hosts, their diverse perspectives, and the introduction to new music make it a standout choice for any rap enthusiast.
