    Ivy Insights

The Getting unSTUCK podcast is a truly life-changing resource that I stumbled upon a few months ago when I started using Podcasts. I cannot adequately express how much Shira Gura has helped me feel less alone in my struggles. As a 30-year-old who often feels like I have wasted my life with negative thoughts and self-doubt, Shira's guidance and insights have opened my eyes to new perspectives. It feels like she is speaking directly to me, understanding my thoughts and showing me a new way of seeing things.

One of the best aspects of this podcast is Shira's ability to relate to her listeners through her stories and examples. Her real-life context makes it easier for us to understand and apply the strategies she teaches, such as getting UNSTUCK, being CLEAR, and living deliberately. Each episode guides us towards the realization that by managing our minds and becoming aware of our thoughts, we can create positive long-term change in how we choose to live.

Another great aspect of this podcast is how relatable and unpretentious Shira's delivery is. Listening to her feels like having a wise friend guiding you through your challenges and helping you reflect on your thoughts and experiences. The strategies she presents are not overwhelming or complicated, making them easy to understand and implement in our lives.

Unfortunately, there are no significant drawbacks to this podcast. However, one minor criticism could be that some episodes may feel repetitive if you've been listening for a while or if you're already familiar with the STUCK method. Nevertheless, hearing Shira's personal stories alongside each topic provides valuable insights and different angles that make even familiar concepts feel fresh.

In conclusion, The Getting unSTUCK podcast is an incredible resource for anyone going through challenging phases in their lives or wanting to make changes - big or small - in their perspective or relationships. Shira's tools are practical yet profound, easy to understand yet transformative. Her podcast is a gift to those who are seeking emotional well-being and personal growth. Listening to her wisdom and following her guidance has had a profound impact on my life, and I highly recommend this podcast to anyone looking for inspiration, clarity, and tools to live deliberately.

In this podcast episode, I discuss the significant role of language in managing emotions and enhancing well-being. The term "stuck" is pivotal in my approach; recognizing when you're "stuck" on an emotion is crucial because it signals that there's a method to help you move forward. I encourage rephrasing emotional states, such as changing "I'm angry" to "I'm stuck on anger," to remind ourselves that emotions are temporary states we can navigate through. The ability to articulate feelings accurately not only helps in identifying emotions but also in adopting new perspectives to shift them. This mastery of language and its application in everyday life, as shared through personal and family experiences, underscores how powerful and transformative clear communication can be in resolving emotional challenges. www.shiragura.com

This podcast focuses on the importance of taking personal responsibility, especially when feeling emotionally stuck. Often, the instinct is to blame others for our feelings, but this approach means we're not fully owning our part. Taking personal responsibility involves acknowledging, owning, and processing our own thoughts and emotions. By doing so, we reduce blame and better understand the true sources of our suffering, rather than projecting responsibility onto others. If more people embraced this mindset, it could lead to significant improvements in personal well-being and interpersonal relationships across the globe. Have you ever caught yourself worrying too much about what other people think? This happened to me last week while I was getting ready for my youngest son's Bar Mitzvah. I was busy making plans and found myself stuck on worrying about what my friends would think of my decisions. This worry made me super anxious and I just couldn't shake it off. It's something we all go through, but it's definitely something to keep an eye on. Trying to make everyone happy might seem like a good idea, but really, it ends up doing more harm than good. Instead of trying to please everyone, it's important to remember that their opinions aren't what matters most. What really counts is how you feel about yourself, your choices, and taking charge of your own thoughts and feelings. That's where The unSTUCK Method comes in. One of the many things it does is that it helps you let go of that need to please everyone else so you can focus on what you really want to do. Check out this week's episode of the "You Can Handle Anything" podcast to hear the story and how you can start to embrace this consideration in your life, too. www.shiragura.com

Have you ever had the experience where someone asks you to do a favor for them - and you gladly help out - only to realize you didn't succeed exactly the way the request was intended? I just hate it when that happens. It's like no good deed ever goes unpunished, right? When that happens, it's so easy to get stuck on self-judgment, self-criticism, and guilt. But the truth of the matter is, you can't always know everything all of the time. Things happen. And instead of staying stuck and feeling bad, you can choose to make a shift and feel better, no matter what the situation. This is what happened to me earlier in the week when I kind of messed things up with a friend. Tune in to this week's "You Can Handle Anything" podcast to hear that story. And as a bonus, I share a second similar story with you in this episode as well. Click below to tune in. I welcome your feedback and thoughts with me after you do. www.shiragura.com

Have you ever wanted to jump in and help when you see something happening to someone else? It's totally normal! But sometimes, it's not our place to fix everything. I recently saw something happening between my husband and my son the other night at dinner. At first, I wanted to step in, but I caught myself. Instead took myself through The unSTUCK Method. It helped me realize that it wasn't my problem to solve. By staying out of it, I let my son handle it on his own. And you know what? Dinner just continued like nothing happened. This week on the "You Can Handle Anything" podcast, I share this story and how choosing how to respond can make all the difference. Tune in!
