CBS EYE ON THE WORLD WITH JOHN BATCHELOR THE SHOW BEGINS IN THE DOUBTS ABOUT THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION'S PLANS FOR THE DOD 10-1-25 FIRST HOUR 9-915 Colonel Jeff McCausland observes that Europe is preparing to deal with Russia's hybrid warfare (drones, cyber, incursions) independently, driven by the belief that the Trump administration is prioritizing homeland defense. European leaders are discussing a "drone wall" and achieving 5% GDP defense spending. McCausland also analyzes the 20-point Gaza peace plan, which involves an immediate hostage release, phased Israeli withdrawal, and a multinational peacekeeping force, noting Russia would likely gain from regional stabilization. 915-930 Colonel Jeff McCausland observes that Europe is preparing to deal with Russia's hybrid warfare (drones, cyber, incursions) independently, driven by the belief that the Trump administration is prioritizing homeland defense. Proof of "willfulness" is required, which signifies a heightened mental state and understanding of illegality. They also analyze the Supreme Court's delay in ruling on President Trump's effort to remove Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook, deferring oral arguments until January.Preview: Andrew McCarthy and Thaddeus McCotter discuss James Comey potentially being a target of the Trumpadministration, focusing on charges of lying to Congress under the broader false statements statute (1001), rather than traditional perjury. SECOND HOUR 10-1015 Colonel Grant Newsham assesses South Korea's leftist President Yoon Suk Yeol, describing him as pro-China and anti-US, despite his vow to increase defense spending. Newsham views this spending partly as a tactical ploy to avoid reliance on US troops. Separately, he highlights Chinese influence and rampant corruption in the US territory of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), which is brazenly seeking $100 million from the USdespite $1.6 billion having vanished. 1015-1030 Colonel Grant Newsham assesses South Korea's leftist President Yoon Suk Yeol, describing him as pro-China and anti-US, despite his vow to increase defense spending. Separately, he highlights Chinese influence and rampant corruption in the US territory of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), which is brazenly seeking $100 million from the USdespite $1.6 billion having vanished. 1030-1045 Brandon Weichert analyzes the growing threat of space warfare, referencing Russia's satellites shadowing German intelligence satellites and the Sino-Russian "no limits partnership." He explains that co-orbital satellites can render ground forces "deaf, dumb and blind." Weichert suggests developing small, cheap "bodyguard satellites" alongside France to protect sensitive US military constellations, acknowledging that space technology is inherently dual-use. 1045-1100 David Maxwell discusses South Korea's military spending increase, the largest in over 15 years, which supports the goal of developing independent warfighting capabilities and transitioning operational control (OPCON). He clarifies that the complexity of OPCON transfer is often misunderstood as a sovereignty issue. Maxwell notes that North Korea is thriving due to growing support from China and Russia, making Kim Jong-un less motivated to normalize relations with the United States. THIRD HOUR 1100-1115 Preview: Professor John Yoo examines US missile attacks on alleged Venezuelan drug boats, differentiating military force (war) from law enforcement (crime). He suggests that if the Maduro regime is using drug cartels like Tren de Aragua as instruments of attack against the US, it constitutes a state of war, justifying military action. Yoo argues that the president can use force defensively without seeking a declaration of war if the US is attacked first, even unconventionally. 1115-1130 Professor John Yoo examines US missile attacks on alleged Venezuelan drug boats, differentiating military force (war) from law enforcement (crime). He reports significant setbacks for competitors, including an explosion during a Firefly Alpha static fire test and NASA canceling the cargo contract for Sierra Space's Dream Chaser due to over a year of unexplained silence and delays. 1145-1200 Bob Zimmerman details SpaceX's target of October 13th for the next Starship Super Heavy orbital test flight, which will focus on testing various engine firing configurations during the Super Heavy booster's return. FOURTH HOUR 12-1215 Patrycja Bazylczyk defines the Golden Dome as a reorientation of US missile defense policy to counter next-generation threats from near-peer adversaries, Russia and China. The defense, which involves a space component (HBTSS), supports the nuclear triad by strengthening deterrence through both denial and punishment. She notes that critics argue the program is unaffordable (estimated $175 billion) and destabilizing, but stresses the need for sustained, bipartisan funding to build the necessary architecture. 1215-1230 Patrycja Bazylczyk defines the Golden Dome as a reorientation of US missile defense policy to counter next-generation threats from near-peer adversaries, Russia and China. He emphasizes the critical need for procurement reform and securing domestic supply chains for materials like steel and aluminum. Holt also addresses the military's shift back to a "warrior ethos" away from "woke" culture, suggesting this change is already leading to honorable resignations and retirements among senior officers. 1245-100 AM Preview: Rick Fisher describes Victor Gao as a "Han envoy" used in China's "cognitive warfare" to spread propaganda, including the claim that China has the world's most powerful military. Gao falsely claimed China possesses a "super weapon," the DF-61, armed with 61 nuclear warheads, capable of reaching any global point in 20 minutes. Fisher also analyzes the propaganda surrounding the new Fujian aircraft carrier, noting that claims of its superiority over the USS Ford are easily refutable.

Matt Dillon has had an odd career. Not quite A-List, not quite B-List; he's consistent but not always a star. Has he done enough in his nearly 50 year career to be called a Hall of Famer? Molly Ringwald is her own fairy godmother, a Cinderella stuck in a love triangle between her best friend and a wealthy classmate, in this teen dramady from John Hughes. Did we like it? Starring Molly Ringwald, Jon Cryer, Andrew McCarthy, Annie Potts, Harry Dean Stanton, and James Spader. Written by John Hughes. Directed by Howard Deutch.

In this fiery commentary, the host unloads on the financial media's blind allegiance to Democrat-aligned figures like Jamie Dimon, highlighting how their repeated economic doomsday forecasts—particularly around Trump-era tariffs and recession fears—missed the mark again and again. Despite consistently being wrong, the same media-approved "experts" like Trey Gowdy and Andrew McCarthy are brought back for analysis, even after botching key narratives like the Russia collusion hoax. Meanwhile, voices who get it right are ignored. With sharp criticism of institutional hypocrisy and media groupthink, this segment challenges who really writes the rules about who we're “allowed” to believe.

Join hosts Clay Edwards and Shaun Yurtkuran for an unfiltered episode of "Uncensored," where they dive deep into politics, personal stories, and pop culture. Clay recaps his exhausting yet rewarding weekend at the 38th Annual Mississippi Wildlife Extravaganza, meeting fans and selling merch, while explaining Lindsey Beckham's absence due to illness. The duo discusses the buzz around their show and Clay's newfound respect for event workers. The conversation heats up with political bombshells: Tulsi Gabbard's revelations on FISA warrants, Operation Crossfire Hurricane, and alleged spying by Obama and Hillary on Trump's 2016 campaign. They analyze differing takes from Matt Taibbi, Andrew McCarthy, Megyn Kelly, and Glenn Beck, debating if this is new evidence or recycled news. Clips from Megyn Kelly's panel highlight the split—some call it a "nothing burger," others a potential coup subverting democracy. They pivot to the Jeffrey Epstein saga, including Trump's alleged birthday card to Epstein, Wall Street Journal reports, and theories of leaks or DOJ plants. Clay expresses skepticism, tying it to broader distractions from Epstein files, while Shaun questions motives behind Murdoch's media empire. They touch on Ghislaine Maxwell's potential testimony, blocked by some Republicans, and the implications for Trump's base. Other highlights: The release of MLK Jr. files revealing infidelity, which doesn't diminish his legacy; RFK Jr.'s insights on his father's assassination; Hunter Biden's explosive, profanity-laced interview torching Democrats like George Clooney and Obama allies; and casual chats on Theo Huxtable's (Malcolm-Jamal Warner) tragic drowning, music rants (hating Coldplay, loving Limp Bizkit and Creed tours), and local Jackson news like a dangerous attempted rapist. Packed with raw opinions, clips, and humor, this 90-minute episode compensates for missed streams. Tune in for uncensored takes on current events—available on WYAB 103.9 FM, YouTube, Facebook, Rumble, and more. Don't miss the hosts' chemistry and fan shoutouts!
Now, for those of you who don't know, I'm an 80s kid. By that, I mean I turned 16 at the end of that decade. I grew up with posters of Ralph Macchio and Michael J Fox on my wall, I went to see New Kids on the Block in concert, and when I read about The Brat Pack in newspapers and magazines (social media was not a thing), I wanted to be a member of that group. From media released long after that time, it appears that while fans wanted to be part of the gang, the gang itself was not overly happy with the label they were given by David Blum in his 1985 New Yorker article. In 2021, Andrew McCarthy released his autobiography, which talked a little about his experiences as an '80s heartthrob, and in 2024, he produced a documentary exploring the impact this label had on him and his fellow Brat Packers! This week, I met up with my friend Lorraine, and as we're both very proud '80s kids, we talked about the autobiography, the documentary and our perceptions of what it meant to us. Yep, this week is different. Welcome again to Lorraine, and join us both on a trip back in time, when things were easier, when the Goonies were doing the truffle shuffle, Jake Ryan was waiting outside our house, standing in front of a Porsche and wearing a gross pink satin prom dress got you the boy of your dreams!

That's showbiz!THE FACTS OF LIFE: Jon was a huge fan of the show -- and then got to work with 8TL alum director Assad Kelada on Two and A Half Men!ACTING FOR TOOTIE: Jon just worked with Kim Fields -- she was his director! No Apology Necessary: Demi Moore recently apologized to Jon in her autobiography Inside Out for not being more sensitive when she “took his virginity” while shooting No Small Affair. But it turns out he wasn't a virgin: “I just seemed like one.”On opening day of No Small Affair, Jon snuck into a theater just in time to see himself take off his shirt on screen -- and hear someone yell: “Where's the beef?”When Jon met Andrew McCarthy and Molly Ringwald on the Pretty in Pink set, he thought they didn't like him. Turns out he was only half-right.The original ending of Pretty in Pink has Molly Ringwald's Andie politely shutting down Andrew McCarthy's Blane, and dancing in solidarity with Cryer's Duckie (to Davie Bowie's Heroes) -- but test audiences HATED it! So, the ending was changed making sure that Andie ended up with cute and sensitive, rich-boy, Blane.GETTING MOSHED: While filming Dudes, Penelope Spheeris had Jon and castmate Dan Roebuck thrown into the mosh pit at a Vandals concert -- and they barely lived to tell about it!So, join Susan and Sharon -- and Jon -- as they talk Morgan Freeman, Escape From Alcatraz, Richard Gere, Wonder Woman, Al Pacino, Cher, Annie Potts, Mark Hamill, The Bad News Bears -- and getting naked for laughs on Two And A Half Men!AUDIO-OGRAPHYListen to Suzanne Rico's podcast The Man Who Calculated Death (produced by Jon Cryer and Lisa Joyner) at TheManWhoCalculatedDeath.comAnd Jon's other podcast, Lawyers, Gun & Money at Apple. In real estate and in life spotting opportunities before the rest of the market and your competitors can be a huge edge. Our guest today Andrew McCarthy found an edge, and moved his family across stateliness to capitalize all while creating value for both his former and new community. Andrew was an architect turned real estate developer who while living in the big apple spotted the small vacation town of Traverse City, MI as a major opportunity that others were ignoring. From a direct airport route from NYC to a community of people who keep the city alive and thriving all year round, Andrew took these advantages and used them to begin developing the specific type of properties that his target market was looking for. We discussed the idea of planning homes with a very specific target customer in mind, to looking at data and migration patterns to plan future developments. He emphasizes a design-driven approach, the importance of strategic site selection, and the focus on boutique luxury homes. Andrew shares insights on identifying emerging market opportunities, growth strategies for real estate development, and the significance of providing white glove service to clients post-purchase.TakeawaysWe focus on the design upfront and construction execution.Quality of what we build should be at the highest standards.Traverse City has a lot of growth potential due to accessibility.Site selection is crucial; we focus on prime corners. We are focused on boutique luxury homes, not mass production. Our growth strategy is cautious and quality-driven.Emerging trends include the impact of tariffs on construction costs.White glove service is essential for client satisfaction. We offer seamless transitions for buyers post-purchase.Understanding market needs is key to successful development.https://freshwaterdevelopments.com/The Neighborhood Realtor is proudly sponsored by Treadstone Funding and Neighborhood Loans. Yep, it's us again. We are Mike and Bill. Nice to meet you.Mike started out with his reading and it was inspired by a lead that he heard earlier in the week. It was about honesty and that is the backbone of our program, so it was a really good conversation. Our friend Tim celebrated 40 years sober this week and we gave him a well deserved shout out.We did some reminiscing about a group that we attended at the Keating Center, chatted about Andrew McCarthy, dove into the 6th Step for a bit, gave a medical update and recapped our weekend at Founder's Day. We wrapped up with a couple of articles. One about men just going through the motions in life and then words that "fake" smart people use. It was interesting, to say the least.Enjoy the episode.Visit usPodcast www.sobernotmature.comStore www.sobernotmatureshop.comHobo www.themoderndayhobo.com

If you grew up in the 80s like I did, you know Andrew McCarthy from Pretty in Pink and St. Elmo's Fire. But Andrew is more than an actor and director. He's also an award-winning travel writer. His writing is introspective, vulnerable and self-deprecating. He weaves memoir with vivid descriptions of people and place, and grapples with questions like how to balance a solitary nature with the desire for intimacy.I reached out to ask him about walking across Spain, a journey he made twice: first alone, and then with his teenaged son. I thought he might give me some insights and inspiration as I prepare for a long farewell-to-Europe hike.We spoke about Andrew's Brat pack years, walking the Camino with his son, and how a hike can change your life. You can listen to Personal Landscapes: Conversations on Books About Place on iTunes, Spotify, and all the usual places. McCarthy also weighed in on Russia's ongoing aggression in Ukraine, urging the U.S. to adopt a Reagan-era approach by "bleeding" Putin's regime through strategic support of Ukraine, and why President Trump should stop trying to offer olive branches to the Russian dictator. Send us a textKatie and Bridget make their own prom dresses as they re-watch the 80's classic: Pretty in Pink! Come along as we meet Andie, a teenage girl who's POOR. DON'T FORGET IT! She's got style, she's got a job, she's got full time mother responsibilities to her out of work father, and she's got her own personal stalker! Aka her "friend" Duckie! When Andie gets asked out by Blane, one of the "richies" from her school, they have the worst first date ever and after they make out she says she loves him! Also he immediately invites her to prom! Wtf! But this movie asks the deep questions we all have wondered at some point in our lives, such as: Can a poor girl date a rich dude? Should we call the police and/or the guidance counselor about Duckie and the fact that he's been held back for the last couple of years? Is prom the most important event in a young girls life or is dumping all the loser men around you and going to fashion school the most important instead!? Released in 1986, it was written by John Hughes and stars Molly Ringwald, Jon Cryer, Harry Dean Stanton, Annie Potts, Andrew McCarthy, and James Spader.
The House has officially passed President Trump's "big, beautiful bill" after some conservative holdouts put the bill's future in question. Glenn rips the media and Democrats' selective coverage and denial. National Review contributing editor Andrew McCarthy joins to discuss President Trump's immigration policies. Glenn and Andrew also discuss the two Israeli embassy staffers shot dead outside D.C.'s Jewish museum. Glenn exposes the leftist plot within our government to sabotage President Trump's immigration policies. There is a coordinated effort under way to destabilize America. The Left thrives on division, and Glenn warns of the violence that's on the horizon. "Frasier" actor Kelsey Grammer joins to discuss his book, "Karen: A Brother Remembers," which tells of the tragic loss of Grammer's sister.
