DAMION1White House blasts Amazon over tariff cost report: ‘Hostile and political act'The White House on Tuesday slammed Amazon for reportedly planning to display the cost of President Donald Trump's tariffs next to the total price of products on its site.“This is hostile and political act by Amazon,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters. “Why didn't Amazon do this when the Biden administration hiked inflation to the highest level in 40 years?” Leavitt asked. The Trump administration's aggressive swipe came in response to a report that Amazon will soon show consumers how much of an item's cost comes from tariffs. The amount added as a result of tariffs will be displayed right next to each product's total listed price, a person familiar with the plan told the news outlet.WHO DO YOU BLAME?CEO Andrew Jassy. He's the “boss.”Maybe he feels emasculated?Lowest overall batting average (.308)only 6% influence compared to his boss, Jeff Bezos (67%)Not paid like traditional CEOs (relying instead on his $275M in unvested equity) and the $38M that vested last year; so when he's hanging out withHis buddies like Target CEO Brian Cornell ($20M) eBay CEO Jamie Iannone ($22M) have the total summary compensation bragging rights. In today's episode, we're diving into something that we all do at times — the blame game. We're breaking down why we're so quick to blame others, how it can sneakily keep us stuck, and why it's one of the biggest blocks to real growth and connection. Shiv shares why blaming feels easier in the moment but ultimately holds us back from healing, how to spot when you're stuck in a blame cycle, and what to do instead. We also talk about how taking ownership (with compassion) can change your relationships — and your life. If you're ready to stop pointing fingers and start creating the kind of growth and connection you actually want, this episode is for you. Ready to do the work and go deeper in your own healing? TALK TO ME, TEXT ITWhat happens when late-night comedy hosts start blaming their own political tribe for election outcomes? Today we're unpacking Jimmy Kimmel's surprising Rolling Stone interview where he points fingers at "liberal cancel culture" for Trump's victory while simultaneously calling Trump supporters "animals" - a contradictory stance that perfectly captures our cultural moment. The headlines take a darker turn as we examine a horrific random attack in Arizona, where a father of two was nearly decapitated by a hatchet-wielding assailant while sitting at a bus stop with his wife. The couple, originally from Alabama, had just decided to return home after a difficult year in California following their child's stillbirth. The seemingly motiveless violence raises troubling questions about public safety and mental health crises playing out on American streets.Meanwhile, in Dallas, bullets flew at a high school after a dice game went wrong, leaving three students with gunshot wounds. Despite metal detectors and clear backpack policies, weapons continue finding their way into educational settings. Most concerning? This marks the second shooting at this same school in just one year, suggesting our new normal includes gambling and gunfire between classes. The stories we cover show a society navigating profound contradictions - celebrity liberals reassessing cancel culture while continuing divisive rhetoric, schools implementing security measures that somehow still fail, and everyday Americans caught in seemingly random violence. What was your most controversial high school moment? For many of us growing up, it might have been someone getting sick in class or a hallway fight - a stark contrast to today's headlines. Parliament was recalled from Easter recess for a rare Saturday sitting of Parliament yesterday, to debate the future of British Steel. Legislation was passed to allow the government to take control of the Chinese-owned company – Conservative MP David Davis called this 'nationalisation in all but name'. Though, with broad support across the House including from Reform leader Nigel Farage, the debate centred less around the cure and more around the cause. Katy Balls and James Heale join Patrick Gibbons to discuss the debate, the political reaction and how much of a precedent this sets for Starmer. Produced by Patrick Gibbons.

We often sing, "Because the sinless Savior died my sinful soul is counted free, for God the Just is satisfied to look on Him and pardon me." This week, as we draw near to the cross of Christ and hear of one notorious criminal and murderer being set free while Jesus is sentenced to death, we are given a glimpse into 'The Great Exchange' that takes place on the cross. For our sake, he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. Hallelujah! What a Saviour! Please pray that we might know the wonder of those words and the work of his grace, 'for our sake…'.

News, commentary, and carnage, for the week ending Friday, 4 April, 2025. Normally, Mark Call puts together an extended recap of the news for the week at this point, but this week ended up being different. It certainly looks like the markets have been hit with a manipulated selloff and panic. And it's been obvious since November it was coming, and intended to be "The Blame Game." So, for now, we'll wait for the smoke to clear. But, none of us should be surprised if the press has already received their copy, and will call it Trump's "Black Friday. Meanwhile, the things you aren't hearing as much about are arguably more important.
