Look, I think the person to blame for the shooting of the two National Guard members in DC is the shooter. But many want to blame the left or blame ALL migrants. Well, if you wanna play the blame game, blame Trump. For purely selfish reasons, he out the National Guard in DC and made them targets, sitting ducks. Hosted on Acast. File on 4 Investigates discovers a world of lies and blame within adoption in the UK. The BBC has conducted the most extensive Freedom of Information request ever into adoptions that have broken down, finding that more than 1,000 adopted children in the UK have returned to care in the past five years. That is much higher than the figure in a recent government report - but the true number is likely to be even larger, as only a third of authorities said they collected this data as standard practice. Some adoptive parents say they've been given so little support that they've been forced to return their children to the care system. This programme explores the scale of the crisis as we hear from parents pushed to the limit, a teenager returned to care and a social worker giving a rare view of the system from the inside.Producer: Ashley Kennedy & Claire Kendall Reporter: Judith Moritz Sound designer: Richard Hannaford Production coordinator: Hattie Valentine Editor: Tara McDermott(Photo: Close-up portrait of couple Verity & Ian standing outdoors. This week, in Pierre, South Dakota, an affair turns in to a need for a divorce, which leads to a woman, disappearing. She leaves her phone, purse & car, but she's nowhere to be found. Detectives look to her new boyfriend, but eventually blame the husband, claiming it was a brutal act of jealousy, but he has someone else to blame... their 12-year-old daughter. Did she kill her mother, in some kind of trance? Or did he try to cast blame on anyone and everyone? Along the way, we find out that 10 AM is not the time slot that you want for your band, during a festival, that some people are apparently only attracted to only retail managers, and that blaming your tiny daughter for a brutal murder might not be the best trial strategy!! On the podcast, we get stuck into the big question everyone's asking - how long can this government keep blaming the last one? David Seymour joins us to talk through the state of the economy, why the recovery feels so slow, and why voters seem to have run out of patience. We dig into whether Labour really left the cupboard bare, or whether National and Co. raised expectations too high and too fast. David fronts up on spending, confidence, and the very real pressure small businesses are still under. He also lays out why he thinks proposals from the Greens could spook investment and slow things down even further. OJ Simpson’s estate has agreed to pay nearly $58 million to the family of Ron Goldman, who was killed along with Nicole Brown Simpson in 1994. Although Simpson was acquitted in criminal court, he was later found liable in a civil trial and ordered to pay more than $33 million; interest and penalties have pushed the total dramatically higher. This week on Elite Rugby Banter, we unpack a weekend of rugby that felt like it was scripted by a mischievous referee with a flair for theatre. The Boks beat Italy, but the real drama was in the card deck — with Eddie Jones still talking about “intent” like it's a legal thriller. KLA ghosted again, Moodie's defence was more interpretive dance than tackle technique, but Dwilly was electric and Manie continued to Manie with reckless charm. Pollard? Somewhere between solid and spectral. If you're not betting on Bok 9s to score, you hate free money. And Rassie's bench moves? Chef's kiss. Across the channel, England stunned the All Blacks and now we're all asking: are they actually good? Is this real? Who's in the top five now — and does anyone agree? BBBB caught some heat, but the real fire was in the discourse. Ireland beat Australia, but only the wrong Aussies shone. Ireland looked better, but was that just because Australia are now a rugby ghost town? Scotland lost to Argentina, and surely Tooney's seat is now lava. Meanwhile, Argentina continue to “prove” they're a top team — despite having done so for five years, three World Cup semis, and wins over basically everyone. Can we retire the “on their day” trope? And yes, Japan played Wales. It's a week of hot takes, cold facts, and rugby chaos — and we're here to stir it all with a crooked referee's whistle and a wink. Music by @monstroid, 80s TV Show.

The Democrat Party is no longer the centrist institution of the past, and because of that, the midterms will be unlike any in recent memory. Donald Trump's path to victory for the GOP in 2026 is clear: sustain a growing economy while facing opposition determined to stall it. Victor Davis Hanson explains how the Left's strategy seeks to slow momentum before voters can see the full recovery and what steps the Trump administration needs to take to fight back on this episode of “Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words.” “ Donald Trump is in a race to get the message out that the economy is much better than the Biden economy. It's going to get much better. And don't believe the media because the media, like the Democratic shutdown, like the Federal Reserve, this artificial efforts to keep interest rates high are politically motivated. But if everything works out the way that he had planned and he does the right thing, right around midterm time, the economy's gonna take off.”

Federal regulators say the financial sector — particularly big banks — failed to act on obvious red flags in the case of Jeffrey Epstein's financial network, and now they're pointing fingers at each other. Agencies like the U.S. Treasury Department and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency assert that banks should have detected and reported Epstein's suspicious transactions years ago and triggered law-enforcement action. Meanwhile, some banks claim they did file reports or raise internal alarms but regulators ignored or delayed follow-up investigations, essentially accusing federal agencies of failing to enforce or respond to the alerts. On the flip side, financial institutions argue they were operating under murky guidance and rely on regulators to interpret complex anti-money-laundering laws — now they say the feds didn't act promptly or clearly once files were submitted. This blame-game has escalated as lawsuits proliferate: banks claim regulators pushed responsibility back onto them, while regulators argue that banks willfully overlooked their compliance duties and expect bail-outs or leniency rather than accountability.
