I was extremely thankful to have a Survivor/ Solider of Domestic Violence in the building this evening. It's estimated that 35% of Women Worldwide have experience physical abuse at the hands of their partner at some point in their relationship. In America 1 in 4 Women (24.3%) aged 18 & older have been the victim of severe physical violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime. Women ages 18 to 24 & 25 to 34 generally experience the highest rates of intimate partner violence. Almost half of all Women have experienced psychological aggression by an intimate partner in their lifetime which is disturbing and sad.
