Ten years ago, on the fourth episode of the show, I investigated why the C-word is considered a worse swear than the others. Since then - well really just in the last three years or so - there has been a huge development: the word has hit the mainstream as a compliment. Linguists Nicole Holliday and Kelly Elizabeth Wright discuss this use of the word originating in the ballroom culture of New York City in the 1990s, and what it means to turn such a strong swear into praise.Related to this: the Allusionist live show Souvenirs! Which is about, among other things, some of the tech problems today's word causes, and how being one can wreck a friendship and a printing press. Send us a textGet ready for a masterclass in customer service strategy with the legendary Shep Hyken. In this milestone episode of the Customer Success Playbook podcast, Shep breaks down key takeaways from his newly released "2025 State of Customer Service and CX" report. Discover why being merely "fine" won't cut it anymore, how consistency trumps heroics, and the one word that defines customer loyalty.Detailed Analysis: In this lively and enlightening conversation, Kevin Metzger and Roman Trebon sit down with renowned speaker and author Shep Hyken to unpack the shifting expectations shaping the future of customer service. Shep's insights challenge the outdated belief that "satisfactory" is good enough. Spoiler alert: it's not. According to his report, 27% of customers say they'll start looking elsewhere if a company only delivers a satisfactory experience. In his words, "Fine is the F-bomb of customer experience."But what does it take to rise above "fine"? Shep doesn't just point to grand gestures; instead, he emphasizes the power of small, consistent actions. Whether it's using a customer's name or always being helpful and approachable, it's about showing up reliably and slightly exceeding expectations. Shep shares how legendary brands like Ritz-Carlton win not by going over the top, but by being just 10% better than average—consistently. That 3.3 on a 5-point scale? That's where magic lives. This episode is packed with actionable gems for anyone in customer success, support, or CX leadership. Send us a text In this episode of Three Kitchens Podcast, we welcome Kerrie Penney, host of Secret Heart Broadcasting, a podcast that explores heartfelt stories, personal experiences, and the connections that shape our lives. Kerrie is passionate about sharing the voices of her guests in an authentic and meaningful way.She brings with her a special recipe from her childhood—Tomato Macaroni Soup. This comforting dish was a staple in her home, lovingly made by her mom. It was never written down. It was one of those recipes her mom made by feel -- a little of this, a pinch of that. But when Kerrie asked her mom to walk her through it, she made sure to preserve the recipe and now, she's sharing it with us! You begin by cooking a tomato base (which you can freeze for later when you want to make soup). We also found it delicious as a pasta or pizza sauce. Then you make a creamy white sauce, add in cooked macaroni, and then mix the white with the red, and you have a wonderful tomato macaroni soup. You can make it with fresh or canned tomatoes. Find a link to the recipe below. A heartfelt thank you to Kerrie for joining us for a conversation about food, family and nostalgia. In a culture that prizes rebellion over submission, this sermon pulls no punches about the power of one simple command—“obey.” Drawing from Ecclesiastes 8:1-9, Romans 13, and 1 Peter 2, the message challenges the notion that obedience is legalistic or oppressive. Instead, it reveals how embracing God-ordained authority leads to true wisdom, peace, and even joy. With raw honesty and practical illustrations, discover why following God's design for human authority isn't a burden but a pathway to clarity in a confusing world. Tune in if you're ready to rethink what it means to truly live by God's word.

Once you have your data stored in OneLake, you'll be ready to start transforming it to improve it's usability, accuracy, and efficiency. In this episode of the podcast, Belinda Allen takes us on a delightful journey through Data Flows, Power Query, Azure Data Factory (Pipelines), and discusses the merits of shortcuts. We also learn about a handy way to manually upload a table if you have some static data you need to update. There are many tools and techniques that can be used for data ingestion and transformations. And while some of these options we discuss will be up to individual preference, there are pros and cons to each. One of the blessings and curses of Fabric is that there are many ways of achieving the same result, so what you choose may depend on the nature of the data you have and your goals, but might also be dictated by personal experience. We hope you enjoyed this conversation with Belinda on ingesting and transforming data in Microsoft Fabric. If you have questions or comments, please send them our way. We would love to answer your questions on a future episode. Leave us a comment and some love ❤️on LinkedIn, X, Facebook, or Instagram. Today's guest is the anti-guru behind the massive No F*cks Given franchise, Sarah Knight. What started life with the Marie Kondo pastiche, The Life Changing Magic of Not Giving A F*ck, now comprises 7 guides and three journals which have sold three million copies and a TED talk that's notched up ten million views. But Sarah wasn't always the queen of giving zero f*cks. Scroll back to her mid-30s and you'd have found her having a panic attack in the Manhattan office where she worked. So started ten years of anxiety and depression, a massive leap into the freelance unknown (which let's face it, worked out pretty well!) and a 1500 mile geographical from Brooklyn to the Caribbean, where she now lives. Sarah joined me from her home in the Dominican Republic (grrrr) to talk about her new book, Grow The F*ck Up, how sometimes it takes getting what you want to realise you don't want it, Why we often need permission to make a change and having the courage to recognise you really don't have enough left in the tank. Sarah also told me how she learnt to give fewer but better fucks, what to do if you're married to a “big f*cking baby”, why selfish shouldn't be a four letter word and she gives us a masterclass in learning to say no. * You can buy all the books mentioned in this podcast at The Shift bookshop on Bookshop.org, including Grow The F*ck Up by Sarah Knight and the book that inspired this podcast, The Shift: how I lost and found myself after 40 - and you can too, by me. * If you enjoyed this episode and you fancy buying me a coffee, pop over to my page on buymeacoffee.com. • And if you'd like to support the work that goes into making this podcast and get a weekly newsletter plus loads more content including exclusive transcripts of the podcast, why not join The Shift community, come and have a look around at www.theshiftwithsambaker.substack.com • The Shift (on life after 40) with Sam Baker is created and hosted by Sam Baker and edited by Emily Sandford. But there's no doubt that employee connections and beliefs are instrumental to success. It takes a lot of work to learn about the company's culture and make steps to change it. And that's often why it doesn't get done. Culture Leaders Daily is a daily, five-minute podcast for CEOs where we dissect the week's biggest news, unpack hot-button workplace trends, and bring you exclusive interviews with leaders who leverage culture to drive real business results. Today's interview is with Tiffani Bova, author of The Experience Mindset and host of the What's Next! podcast. Repentance isn't a four-letter Word. In fact, it's one of the sweetest words in the world, because repentance means there is still an opportunity to start over. In the second chapter of his Letter to the Romans, Paul turns his attention to the way that God's people fail to live by their own standards. Let it not be true of us. God is being kind in giving us an opportunity to repent. Let's not miss it.

Risa is a regular guest chef and presenter at Rancho La Puerta Spa. What We Discuss In This Episode: Risa shares how she reversed Hashimoto's Disease. Risa discusses the right diet type or eating lifestyle for someone with thyroid disease, plus the most common symptoms of hypothyroidism. Risa introduced functional nutrition, which takes a holistic approach to testing thyroid function beyond just TSH. She looks at 9 markers and stool/blood tests to uncover root causes like gut health and inflammation. Risa detailed her struggle with Hashimoto's and infertility until discovering genetic mutations and gut issues were perpetuating it. She reversed it by addressing each root cause through diet and lifestyle changes over 10 years. Common symptoms of hypothyroidism were explained, like hair loss, weight gain and fatigue. Doctors often miss underlying causes by only testing TSH, whereas functional medicine tests the full thyroid panel. Gluten sensitivity is often a result of leaky gut caused by a depleted diet and toxins. Gluten pokes holes leading to food sensitivities via molecular mimicry with other foods like corn and eggs. Healing the gut is key. Risa's detox program focuses on whole foods, collagen protein, and removing triggers like sugar and gluten to cleanse the liver and reduce inflammation. Participants feel renewed and often lose 4-7 pounds without calorie counting. Risa answered questions on remotely working with clients, testing for celiac and cross-reactivities, and accommodating vegetarian/vegan diets on her detox programs. She emphasized individualized plans. Risa gives us the low-down on the real story about gluten. Is it all hype or should people avoid it?
