Hey y'all, this is Mike McVey. I am completely fascinated by people. Not just celebrities, but the regular people, the "nobodys." In this podcast I will interview people that have intersected with my life in one way or another. I talk to teachers, motivational speakers, entertainers, advisors, lawyers, pastors, gamers, IT guys, musicians an much, much, more.
I met Mary Grace two years ago at OKC Improv and we developed a friendship. From the first time I met Mary Grace. I knew she was someone special. In this episode we talk about teaching, Mississippi, popcorn, Taylor Swift, and more.
This week's guest is Pallas Johnson. Pallas wears many hats as she is a professional actress/improvisor, instructor and education director as well as other things. Pallas is a charming person and our conversation covers everything from being a teacher/librarian to talking about Wil Wheaton and Felicia Day. It is always fun to talk to brilliant people.
This week's guest is our friend Laurette Lynn. You might remember her from her season 1, episode 14 where we talked about trust and dealing with the first stages of the pandemic. In this episode we explore what changes have happened in her life over the past two years and if she views the world differently or the same. If you've kept up with me over the past 15 months, you know that I have heavily invested in OKC Improv. It is a non-profit organization that tries to spread awareness of the art form by showcasing world-class talent and offering classes for students to learn various aspects to practice in real life. I specifically an reaching out to those who have teenagers - there are classes starting October 1 for the teens that give you a couple hours to do something else. Both teen and adult classes are available. Check all of this out at okcimprov.com I absolutely love Laurette. Though we have only known each other 7 years, she really does feel like a lifelong friend. I hope you enjoy this show as we touch base!
Movie director, actor, writer, Second City alum, improvisor, and all-around decent guy Jimmy Carlson is our guest. He does his interviews like he does his improv - he needs a suggestion and he goes all in with all of it entertaining.
