Deo provides a lens into his live presentation as a speaker/trainer with his latest podcast. Forgiveness is one of the most powerful human tools. Our emotions play an important part in who we are. The anger or pain we carry keeps us from moving forward. If we are not careful, it becomes part of us. It influences our behaviors in how we love ourselves and others. Forgiving is an act that happens within us. It is the freeing of ourselves from pain, anger and bondage. The anger, bitterness and pain caused by not forgiving is very deceiving. It tricks us into protecting those feelings because it is the only way we feel like we have control of our reactions to the painful experiences we go through every day. Perseverance is often mistaken for “toughing it out.” But toughing it out is an adrenaline rush, good for the short run but not the long haul. Toughing it out is running on empty, which is not sustainable. Perseverance, on the other hand, is a renewable energy source. It is fueled through constant introspection and acquisition, by forces inside you and outside you. Only by identifying those forces is perseverance possible. And only with genuine perseverance is it possible to excel.
