Ten years ago, on Sunday, August 30, 2015, Denise Robert embarked on her routine Sunday night walk. She was shot and killed in that northside neighborhood, in Manchester, NH, the city she grew up in. She was found after neighbors reporrted seeing a person laying in the street. At 62, Denise was active and fit, her walks were a cherished ritual. She radiated a vibrant energy. Denise had always been a beacon of enthusiasm, for art, life, and adventure. She embraced every opportunity. Her passion for exploration was something she shared with her large family; As the oldest of 12, they found common ground in their love for the outdoors. She fostered a sense of adventure with her siblings and together they explored the mountains and trails of New Hampshire. Her death that night in 2015 remains a mystery - to law enforcement, and to everyone who knew her. Denise's murder remains unsolved. New Hampshire Cold Case Unit says it's open and active, that they still receive tips, yet still no suspects, no people of interest exist.Denise was a professional, having worked in sales and advertising for local newspapers for decades, she was not a person with enemies. Denise was simply out for a walk that night to reset for the week ahead. There haven't been any public updates on her case since 2017 when a search took place at a Londonderry property that was related to a man that could have been in the area at the time of her death.I speak to her brother John about her case, updates from the newly expanded cold case unit, family advocacy, and NH Coalition of Familes of the Missing and Murdered.Manchester, NH - The Queen City - New Hampshire's largest city, ranks among America's best places to live, and also has been plagued with drugs, crime, and homelessness.More at crimeofthetruestkind.com | Follow the show links | Contact Anngelle at crimeofthetruestkind-at-gmail-comLIve show dates:Thursday,9/11 at Off Cabot, Beverly, MassThursday 10/23 at The Burren, Somverville, MassSupport the show: patreon.com/crimeofthetruestkind Hosted on Acast. Send us a textHi everybody and welcome to the first episode of this new series of Attendance Bias: over the next few weeks, we are going to take a look at venue Phish is going to play on their upcoming 2025 summer tour; from old favorites like SPAC and The Mann, to first-time visits for Phish, like Folsom Field and Forest Hills Stadium.Today, I am joined by returning guest Chris Casey and his partner Jenn, both New Hampshire natives, to give us a local view of the SNHU Arena, or the “SNU,” at which Phish will open their summer tour with a 3-night run on June 20, 21, and 22.Phish doesn't have a big history at the venue, but Chris and Jenn have a long history in Manchester, and New Hampshire as a whole. So, what follows is a mix of a venue preview and a travelogue. I hope you enjoy it and look forward to our previews of other venues on the summer tour.
On a Fisher Cats Thursday we were joined by one of the “voices” of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Chris Jared, who checked in from Binghamton, New York where the Fisher Cats were getting ready to play a doubleheader. We also previewed the next homestand for the Cats which will feature 14 games starting next Tuesday.
A social club, two more disappearances, and an abandoned five-year-old. Six weeks after Laureen Rahn vanished from her apartment in Manchester, on June 8th of 1980, 25-year-old Denise Daneault disappeared after spending a night out at a social club. For years investigators didn't take her disappearance seriously. What they didn't know was that another Denise, Denise Beaudin, also vanished from the Manchester area a little over a year after Denise Daneault. The two women had more than just their name in common, they were both living on Hayward Street. But unlike Denise Daneault, Denise Beaudin wasn't reported missing until thirty five years after she disappeared. Denise Daneault vanished from Manchester, New Hampshire on June 8th, 1980. She was last seen leaving the Merrimack Club at approximately 1:30 am. At the time of her disappearance Denise was 25 years old, 5'5, approximately 135 pounds with brown hair and brownish green eyes. She was last seen wearing a brown print skirt. Denise Beaudin vanished on November 26th, 1981 from Manchester, New Hampshire. She was last seen at her family's home in Goffstown. She was 23 years old, approximately 5'5, 140 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Denise has a distinct overbite. If you have any information about the disappearances of Denise Denault or Denise Beaudin contact the Manchester Police Department at 603-668-8711. In this episode, a Beech Craft, C99 commuter aircraft took off from Manchester New Hampshire when the tower started noticing the plane flying erratically off course. It turns out the cockpit door flew off the aircraft causing the pilot to lose control, while also making communications with the tower very difficult. Trevor Rose-Hamblin, the co-founder and head brewer of Old Irving Brewing Chicago is here to talk about barrels, food, and the importance of mental health.Last month in New Hampshire, Trevor Rose-Hamblin, the co-founder and head brewer of Old Irving Brewing in Chicago stood before a packed ballroom in Manchester New Hampshire. He was there to deliver the keynote at the state's annual craft brewers conference and he was there to talk about his own life experiences and to urge everyone in the room to think about mental health and ways to help people from causing self harm. It was an impactful speech, and one that he references in this conversation several times as he talks about how Old Irving Came to be, a life in kitchens, and how critically important it is to be listening, watching, and always working to keep people safe and working towards a better headspace. This was recorded the day before his talk and before that part of the conversation we briefly talk about Chicago and it's love of barrel-aged beers.
