Each week, I'll be bringing you inspiring guests, insights, and mindset tools to empower you to be energized, compress time, and start living instead of existing.    Episode Title: From Overwhelm to Confidence: Tina Sasso's Transformational Journey Host: Robyn Engelson Guest: Tina Sasso Episode Summary: In this episode, I sit down with Tina Sasso, a past client who experienced incredible results through my coaching program. Tina, a nurse practitioner and health coach, came to me feeling overwhelmed and uncertain about how to bring her passions and skills together. Through our work together, she gained clarity, stepped into her true identity, and embraced a season of being rather than constant doing. She also found the confidence to pursue one of the biggest decisions of her life—starting the adoption process. Join us as we discuss her journey, the power of awareness, and how stepping back can sometimes be the key to moving forward. Key Takeaways: Choosing the Right Coach: Tina was drawn to my coaching because of my energy, impact, and ability to take action in my own business. She resonated with my approach and knew I could help her align her passion with her purpose. The Power of Awareness: Tina realized she was in a cycle of constant action without a clear direction. By revisiting energy savers and drainers, she identified what was truly fulfilling and what was holding her back. Stepping Into Being: One of Tina's biggest breakthroughs was learning to shift from "doing" to "being." She discovered that sometimes, the best action is to pause and allow clarity to emerge. Embracing Confidence & Purpose: Tina's biggest transformation was gaining the confidence to pursue adoption, something she had put off for years. Working together helped her recognize that this was the right time and season to take that step. The Role of Coaching in Transformation: A good coach provides the tools and space for clients to come to their own realizations. By holding the light and guiding Tina through self-discovery, she was able to make lasting changes. Memorable Quotes: “Nothing changes if nothing changes. The only way to create transformation is by taking action.” “You can't see the picture when you're in the frame. A coach provides that outside perspective to help you gain clarity.” “Confidence is the foundation of everything. When you believe in yourself, you open the door to limitless possibilities.” Actionable Steps for Listeners: Identify your energy drainers and energy savers—what is fueling you, and what is depleting you? Ask yourself why five times—dig deeper into your motivations to gain clarity. Take a step back and evaluate whether you are in a season of doing or if you need to shift into a season of being. Seek a coach or mentor who aligns with your values and can help you gain the awareness needed for transformation. Thank you for tuning in! Allison Shapira, MPA, CSP, is a former opera singer turned entrepreneur, keynote speaker, and international expert in leadership communication. She is the Founder/CEO of Global Public Speaking LLC, a certified woman-owned small business that teaches speaking skills to leaders so that they can build better client relationships, inspire their teams, and confidently lead their organizations into the future. She teaches a graduate-level course at the Harvard Kennedy School and has spent 20 years developing leadership communication programs for Fortune 50 companies, government agencies, and non-profit organizations. She has worked with prime ministers and their cabinets and CEOs and their leadership teams, teaching them authentic leadership as a way to inspire their constituents and teams. She also travels around the world with the nonprofit Vital Voices Global Partnership, teaching leadership communication to help women leaders grow their business, run for office, or launch a nonprofit. Allison is a Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) and a Certified Virtual Presenter. She holds a master's degree in public administration from the Harvard Kennedy School and is an internationally-renowned singer/songwriter who uses music as a way to help others find their voice and their courage to speak. As an avid tech enthusiast, Allison has incorporated artificial intelligence into her keynotes, workshops and coaching to help people improve their speaking skills. More broadly, she is researching the intersection of AI and authenticity and what that means for the future of human connection. Allison is the author of Speak with Impact: How to Command the Room and Influence Others (HarperCollins Leadership), which was a Washington Post best-seller, and the new companion e-guide Speak with Impact VIRTUALLY. She has spoken at the Fortune Most Powerful Women Next Gen Summit, the Most Powerful Women in Banking LEAD Conference, and was a finalist for 2017 Woman Business Owner of the Year by the National Association of Women Business Owners, San Diego Chapter. A lifelong learner and world traveler who has taught public speaking on nearly every continent, Allison can ask for directions in ten languages but can only understand the responses in four. One of the proudest moments of her life was singing the National Anthem for the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. Allison had a number of amazing insights during our conversation. Some of them include: “[There is so much value in public speaking in] not reading every single person's body language” (8:05). “[Our perceptions of] body language expressions can be accurate, but they're not necessarily related to us or what we're saying” (9:05). “What I'm doing is co-creating a reality between me and each member of the audience” (10:30). “I'm always very intentional about the energy I'm creating with myself so that I can perform at my best” (12:20). “'It depends' is one of my favorite answers because very few issues are binary” (15:45). “I'm always someone who's loved to learn new things. I love going from not knowing to knowing” (16:10). “Why you?” (24:35). “You're not the center of attention. Your message is the center of attention” (26:00). “I do [need validation]” (29:05). “I don't just do this work as a job. The work that I do is an extension of who I am and what I believe and how I want to show up in this world” (29:35). “It's hard to balance the strategy of running the company with the creativity of making new content” (31:30). “AI is going to affect every part of our lives in ways we can control and ways we can't control” (34:20). “When you're speaking, you're actually engaging the audience in conversation” (41:10). “[Executive presence is] a way of speaking and acting that makes others take notice and listen” (41:30). “Confidence comes from a belief in our ability to affect a positive outcome” (43:05). “The amount of time you spend preparing for a presentation is based on two key factors: how well you know the material and how important the occasion is” (45:50). “Opera music is so rigid and folk music is so make it up as you go” (52:05). “Public speaking is closer to folk music than to opera” (52:45). “We are sometimes too close to who we are to really tap into what drives us the most” (57:05). “I am a super empowered, growth-oriented citizen of the world” (57:55). “When we tap into our own emotions, we actually tap into the emotions of our audience” (1:01:25). “The more personal I am in my songwriting, the more the audience relates to my journey” (1:02:25). “Clarity is a muscle, and we learn how to build that muscle” (1:05:15). “Your energy affects the energy of all the other people in the room” (1:05:25). Additionally, you can connect with Allison on LinkedIn. I'd also encourage you to purchase Allison's book, Speak with Impact: How to Command the Room and Influence Others, anywhere books are sold. I don't know about you but one of the things I have really enjoyed in talking with other jewelry artists is hearing their journeys of how they found themselves bitten by the jewelry bug. For some, it began with early memories of dress up or rooting through a loved one's collection of jewelry. For others, a series of event brought them unexpectedly to metal but the love for the craft was immediate. I love a good story and a good story teller, and Alix Bluh delivers as you will hear. I connected to Alix's work immediately. We share a love for symbols, patina, texture, and stone, but Alix takes it to another level. And I not only admire her work, but after this conversation I admire her ability to flow and pivot during difficult times to build something even better than she could have envisioned otherwise. Her San Francisco brick and mortar, Modern Relics is a testament to this. I honestly can't wait to visit the next time I'm in the Bay Area. About Alix Bluh... Alix Bluh was introduced to the silver studio at a summer camp in Maine at the age of 12 and that experienced sparked a life long love of creating. Alix moved to San Francisco at the age of 28 where she joined the Sharon Art Studio, a beautiful Victorian stone building in the Golden Gate Park. This is where she began her metalsmithing journey and fell in love with working in sterling silver and gold. After 5 years of practicing her craft and refining her artistic voice in the medium she launched her line. Modern Relics, was born in1999. In 2007 Alix opened her gallery and new studio space, Modern Relics in the Richmond District of San Francisco and hasn't looked back. Confession: I used to struggle with promoting my business and speaking about my products and services due to the fear of making sales. My fear caused me to avoid answering calls and even pass on potential sales opportunities to my partner. This fear can stem from various reasons such as a lack of confidence, unclear messaging, vulnerability, or feeling physically or emotionally at risk. However, confident and clear communication can help build trust and lead to successful sales. In this episode of the HerBusiness podcast, we will discuss 7 ways fear may be hindering sales for female business owners and provide solutions and examples from other women who have overcome their fear. Join us as we delve into the limiting mindsets that may be holding you back and preventing you from making a greater impact in your business. You'll hear: How Alex's experience with a ‘used car salesman' convinced her of how she did NOT want to sell. And, how she now confidently serves her clients and asks for the sale without fear. Why your past traumas don't need to be reflected in your current reality. How and where to share your wins without the fear of being ‘braggy'. What to do when you're promoting a new business, market, offer, or product or service for the first time. How getting to know your ideal client and their pain points and challenges helps you put the fear of selling aside, and instead have you making your offers confidently. One woman's ‘aha' that the behaviour of staying silent may have served her as a child, but is now hindering her ability to grow her business. Business Unveiled: Expert Tips and Secrets from Top Creative Industry Professionals

Well That's a Wrap!  And this is not just “a” tool you can use to impact your future. It's THE tool to use to gain clarity on navigating change and what's next for you. As we wrap up this lifeline series of Business Unveiled, we want to thank you for joining us (in the Bahamas!) on this journey as we share our experiences, why we think the way we think and how they have shaped us into who we are today!  Seriously, I can't believe we are at the “end” of this series, but really… it's just the beginning :)  In this episode I'm talkin' all about ages 30-40+ (my very favorite years of LEARNING), and let me tell you a little somethin'... in my 30s I thought, oh age is just a number.  In my 40s I am learning that age is not just a NUMBER!  It's a mindset. WHY LISTEN? *Time-Your most valuable asset:How can charting your lifeline help you gain clarity on how to better focus on where to spend your time?  *Mistakes-We all make them:How are you reacting and taking accountability; do you take ownership and learn from it? *Clarity-Each decade shifts priorities Where have you been, where are you going, why, and most importantly what is your plan to get there? TAKEAWAYS: Sharing my top AH-HAAA moments from doing a lifeline:*You may notice patterns, identify gaps, and develop more self awareness *Your “tough” will look different to others. Don't compare and only ask for direction from those who have gone through what you are going through.  *Practice gratitude everynight before going to bed.  You can do this alone or with others.  Say out loud the ONE high you had for the day and the ONE low.  Whatever your low is, ask yourself why.  Could you have planned better or better paid attention. (Sometimes I share them on my Insta Story!) *You will value your time more by looking at how far you have come and all that you have accomplished.  So if you want to raise prices, or make a change, this tool will guide you.  *When life gets hard, instead of saying “Why is this happening TO me” think “Why is this happening FOR me”. It's the life challenging moments that create space for you to grow.  *You grow as you go; which requires change and shifts.  Your experience can guide you to be prepared for whatever comes your way.  And if you aren't, then that's what mentors, coaches and consultants are for.  That did not exist the first decade I had my first business. Budget for this annually. New beginnings can start every day… don't wait til the next January 1st.  You will blink your eyes and half of your life could be over. This is your reminder So here we go onto the next chapter. Up next, Business Unveiled is going back out on the road.  Where should we go next? If you are interested in doing a collab, reply to this email and tell us your idea!  Your time is precious.  So make it count! A special thank you to Rosewood Baha Mar in Nassau Bahamas for the relaxing Bahamian experience. It was a total escape from doing podcast in the loft of my home alone, to the most beautiful powder-white sand, most beautiful beach.  From our suite, to culinary experience, the spa, infinity pools, flamingos, turtle program, the community was incredible.  My favorite thing is implementing the write key (that makes it SO easy to spend money) but having it be water proof was so nice. I loved the stainless steel water bottle in our rooms at check in.  And the power behind changing just ONE thing.  By installing water dispensers around the property, helping with sustainability.  It truly is a sense of place.
