The G5 trail collective celebrated a ground breaking ceremony for the more than 40 miles of trail that will be built in the Old Fort, NC area. What was expected to be a decent gathering of around 50 people turned into a massive gathering of over 200 people in a field off Jarrett Creek road, that will eventually become a trailhead parking area. All the movers and shakers were there and we caught up with most all of them to get some words on the trails, the community and how the future looks for the Old Fort area and McDowell county.
