The Redefining Rest for Public Health Professionals podcast is an invaluable resource for anyone in the public health field, or any service-oriented profession for that matter. As a public health professional with over 10 years of experience, I often find it difficult to say no and take time for myself due to the never-ending demands of the job. This podcast has been a game-changer in helping me gain perspective and understanding about productivity and rest.

One of the best aspects of this podcast is its ability to challenge traditional notions of productivity. The episode titled "Chasing Productivity" particularly resonated with me as it helped me recognize that my ideas about being productive were actually leading to burnout. Marissa's insights and focus are truly eye-opening, and she explores meaningful topics like understanding our own brains better and learning what it means to rest. Even though I'm not in public health, I have found these messages applicable to my own profession.

Marissa's approach in this podcast is gentle, non-preachy, and non-pushy, which makes it incredibly refreshing. As someone currently experiencing burnout, I appreciate her thoughtful and thought-provoking takes on the subject. The lessons and principles discussed on this podcast are not only relevant for those in public health but also apply to other service-oriented professions as well.

However, one potential drawback of this podcast could be its narrow focus on public health professionals. While the lessons shared are valuable across professions, there may be listeners who feel left out if they are not specifically in a public service profession. It would be beneficial if Marissa could broaden the scope of her discussions to include a wider range of service-oriented careers.

In conclusion, The Redefining Rest for Public Health Professionals podcast is a must-listen for anyone working in the public health field or any service-oriented profession. Marissa's insights bring fresh perspectives on burnout within these professions and provide practical tips for self-care and personal growth. Whether you're in the midst of burnout or simply seeking a better work-life balance, this podcast offers valuable guidance and support. I wish I had discovered these tips earlier in my career.
