Our earthly fathers can influence and impact how or if we relate to our Heavenly Father. However, our parents are not God. People are flawed; God and his love are perfect. In Luke 11:9-13 Jesus teaches us that if we are asking and seeking a relationship with God, we will definitely find it. He reminds us that even flawed earthly parents know how to give their kids what they need so “how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” He speaks our language and meets us where we are. Seek him and find the safest relationship there is to be found!Romans 8:15-16 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.
