There's been a trend emerging in this year's Broadway musicals, which begs the question: will they be “Alive Forever” or only be around “'Til Death”? In this episode we discuss two shows both involving death and decide whether they make “Something from Nothing” so you can be the judge! As usual, spoilers ahead!Death Becomes Her: 1:00Dead Outlaw: 57:54—We definitely weren't the only ones to notice the “dead body character” trend, and there's a whole award from MemesOnBway about it.A lot of Christine's impression of what Death Becomes Her would be like came from Sabrina Carpenter's Taste music video, which also pays homage to the movie. The infamous staircase fall is accomplished by former gymnast Warren Yang, and you can also watch more about how it was put together with all the design elements: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7Vxm_x2_Qo Despite being on Broadway, Dead Outlaw is still set to release on Audible on October 2, so you can take a listen to it then! For people of faith, a minister is supposed to be a figure of trust, a rock to support you in times of trouble. Not everyone who holds that position meets those ideals, though. This week's story is about a man whose minister's robes and carefully practiced smiles hid a heart burning with violence and dark desires, someone who would betray every trust given to him and leave pain—not salvation—in his wake. We all carry a box of hopes, dreams, and desires into our relationships—shaped by our experiences, observations, and influences. When we burden our partner with the full weight of these expectations, love can become strained by unmet demands. While tension over these differing desires is natural in marriage, how do we handle it? In this message, Pastor Danny and his wife Jackie share four practical ways to manage this tension in our marriages and relationships. Speaker: Pastor Danny Anderson

From MPR News, Art Hounds are members of the Minnesota arts community who look beyond their own work to highlight what's exciting in local art. Their recommendations are lightly edited from the audio heard in the player above. Want to be an Art Hound? Submit here.Flute takes center stageRoma Duncan is a piccolo player in the Minnesota Orchestra. She recommends a concert this Sunday where the flute will take center stage. Flutist Adam W. Sadberry, accompanied by Joe Williams on piano, will perform this month's Coffee Concert at the Lakeville Area Arts Center, Sunday, Feb. 2 at 2 p.m. Roma says: Adam's really put together an interesting program with a lot of music from Black composers. Perhaps the one that catches my attention most is the finisher on the program, “Wish: Sonatine” by Valerie Coleman. Valerie is a living composer. She's a Black woman who is a flutist and a composer, and she's gotten a ton of attention in recent years with with great reason; she always has such engaging, exciting works. One of the big pieces that I'm also excited about is the [J.S.] Bach Partita [in A minor]. It's a real tour de force for flutists. It's not very often that we have these solo pieces where we just never stop playing. He has so many different composers on this program, so I think it'll be really fascinating to hear him switch gears so many times between different eras, different styles, different feels to his repertoire.— Roma Duncan13 years of musical marriageTheater artist Laurie Flanigan Hegge from Minneapolis recommends a light-hearted musical to see with your sweetheart: the musical “'Til Death.” Written and performed by real-life married couple Jeremiah and Vanessa Gamble of Bucket Brigade, the musical, now in its 13th season, opens Friday and runs through Feb. 15 at Art House North in St. Paul. Laurie says: This show is a Valentine to marriage and commitment and a love letter to their community on the west side of St. Paul [where they live and perform]. “‘Til Death” features two sets of couples: a married couple who have been together for 15 years but are on the brink of separation, and a newly married couple who are goofily in love with each other. The two of them come together on a snowy night in a blizzard and end up spending a kind of madcap, silly night together, where the realities of what it means to be married and committed kind of crash into each other. It's a fun musical: warm, funny and light-hearted, and it's performed in a really intimate space called Art House North, which is an old church.— Laurie Flanigan HeggeRochester JazzJazz musician Eric Heukeshoven of Winona recommends spending your Wednesday nights this February at the Rochester City Jazz Fest. Hear live jazz at the Thesis Beer Project from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., starting Wednesday, Feb. 5. Eric describes the line-up: Next Wednesday, Feb. 5, is Darren Saner Quartet. Darren is a crooner from Rochester, very well known. There is a wonderful band backing him up. The next Wednesday, Feb. 12, is a group called TakeTwo & Friends. They're very much straight ahead, right in the pocket. It's piano, drums and tenor sax, but I think the “friends” indicates they're going to have people sitting in with them that night. Then on the 19th is a new group from Minneapolis called 3-D. It features guitar, bass and drums. And wrapping it up [on Feb. 26], just in time for Mardi Gras, is Loud Mouth Brass, which is a New Orleans-style brass band. They will bring down the house, I'm sure.— Eric Heukeshoven

10 years of Til Death Do Us Blart have brought us to a singular moment in the podcast - It's time to go to the home of the movie, Las Vegas, Nevada. Or at least, it is for some of us. After spending 14 hours flying, Tim and Guy are not met by Justin, Travis, nor Griffin in physical form. However the five are spiritually connected by their most recent watch of Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 and they're here to discuss it for you. This is a watch that has delivered a critical assessment of the one-liners of PB:MC2, an even deeper appreciation for the Garden of Contemplation scene, and a fairly scary experience involving the Blue Man Group.Get your Blart merch here. "Whatever happened, you're still part of the team! You're still one of the X-Men!" Much like the comics from which X-Men: The Animated Series drew so much of its inspiration, season 2 would immediately see the show begin to double down on its history and build out an ever-expanding mythology. No longer obligated to present stories at an entry level, the show took full advantage of its serialized format to springboard plots off the backs of its own previous plots. To that end, season 2 opens with a bombshell: the return of Morph, long thought dead since the events of the series' opening two-parter. This came as a shocking and satisfying twist, rewarding loyal viewers for their continued interest. And if it came at the cost of invalidating the show's edgiest, most ground-breaking moment? So what! This was comics, after all, or at least comics-on-Saturday-morning. Further to that, Morph had proven to be an unexpected fan favorite based on initial impressions, so a reversal of fortune was arguably worth it not merely for a big reveal, but to offer a path back to semi-regular appearances for the character. The revolving door of death would be one of the many ways the show was brought more into alignment with the tropes of the comics. More direct echoes could be traced in the form of Scott and Jean's wedding, which would occur in the comics a mere four months later. Likewise, new anti-mutant antagonist Graydon Creed and his homegrown militia, the Friends of Humanity, had made their print debuts a little over six months prior to the airing of "Till Death," part 1. Henchmen the Nasty Boys are utilized prominently beginning in part 2 and throughout the season, despite having appeared in exactly one comics storyline from 1992 (and in lieu of an older and more infamous group that preceded them in the Marauders). All this, with little in the way of reintroductions to our principal cast. From a critical standpoint, this approach for a season premiere might politely be described as "inaccessible" to say the least. Owing to many of these changes was no doubt the arrival of X-Men line editor Bob Harras in an official capacity as Story Consultant. To Harras, inaccessibility was a feature far more than a bug. During his tenure overseeing the X-office at the height of the speculator era, the more tangled, sprawling, and convoluted the storytelling, the better. For the industry's many eager young collectors, the complex nature of the X-Men's history, combined with the present-day storylines whose conclusions typically offered more questions than answers, there was a desperate need to Make It All Make Sense. Helping Jenny and Tim to Make It All Make Sense on this installment of X-Position is Keithie, not unlike Beast, joining the episode in progress. All told, this two-parter delivers a satisfying, intricately-plotted opening salvo that will be representative of the season as a whole. Thematically, the story makes excellent use of deception as a recurring motif. From Wolverine's brawl with a robotic duplicate of Cyclops, to the mutant-impersonating crisis actor disrupting President Kelly's inauguration, Graydon Creed's subsequent manipulation of the media, and right down to Morph's duplicitous divide-and-conquer scheme to use the X-Men to undo the X-Men, truly nothing is as it seems. And that's to say nothing of Morph's return from a seemingly certain death. It's fitting, then, that standing atop all of this subterfuge is the riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma known as Mr. Sinister. His presence will loom large throughout the series following this maleficent animated debut. To its credit, the script makes effective and logical use of Sinister as Morph's corrupting benefactor, and even manages to flesh out his ultimate motives more decisively over the course of 22 minutes than 6-plus years worth of comics appearances had managed. Though taking its cues ever more from the comics, this stands as an example of the finite nature of the animated series imposing a storytelling discipline that occasionally outshined its source material.
There are many horror stories associated with organ donation. An organ broker makes millions off the harvesting of these organs while families go broke having to pay hospital bills and funeral expenses without compensation. We also get into nightmare territory where Black Market eugenicists are stealing eggs, sperm, and vital organs and selling them to the highest bidder. There has to be a group of people who will stand up and ask if the organ donation process is in the best interests of everyone. The procedures must be carried out fairly, reasonably, and ethically. Tonight we're chatting with SK Dale, director of the new film SUBSERVIENCE. Dale teams up again with Megan Fox, who starred in Dale's thriller TIL DEATH. Here, Fox plays an artificial person hired to help around the house while a man's wife is sick in the hospital. And naturally that goes great. SUBSERVIENCE was directed by S.K. Dale (Till Death) and written by Will Honley (Bloodline) and April Maguire (#Zombie). It stars Megan Fox (Transformers), Michele Morrone (365 Days), and Madeline Zima ("Californication"). In SUBSERVIENCE, Megan Fox stars as Alice, a lifelike artificially intelligent android, who has the ability to take care of any family and home. Looking for help with the housework, a struggling father (Michele Morrone) purchases Alice after his wife becomes sick. Alice suddenly becomes self-aware and wants everything her new family has to offer, starting with the affection of her owner – and she'll kill to get it. Questions answered this episode: I'm a young woman happily dating a catholic man. The thought of having times of abstinence in marriage is a little sad. Could you speak on the beauty of abstinence? Is the ability to be physically intimate even in times of abstinence without it leading to intercourse something that is learned only in marriage? Is this something that can be learned as an engaged couple? My husband of 32 years died last year and I'm struggling with the thought of no longer being a married woman. How can I reconcile the “two becoming one” and “til death do us apart”? What is the nature of the marriage relationship in heaven? I met a woman that is 3 years older than I am which put me off initially but now I just can't unsee her beauty. I get easily aroused by simple interactions with her. I often worry about messing up if we start dating. How can I honor God and love this beautiful woman? Ask Christopher West is a weekly podcast in which Theology of the Body Institute President Christopher West and his beloved wife Wendy share their humor and wisdom, answering questions about marriage, relationships, life, and the Catholic faith, all in light of John Paul II's beautiful teachings on the Theology of the Body.
