On Eric's final episode as co-host of Revealing Voices, we invited Brandon Andress back for his second interview. In 2021, Brandon published his fourth book, "What Can't Be Hidden." At the beginning of the show, we discuss the writing process as he switched to fiction for the first time. Brandon shares his new sense of freedom in an allegorical writing style and unique ability to present spiritual themes through the relationships of the characters. In the second half of the show, Eric thanks Brandon and Tony for the role they have played in his life as spiritual mentors. Brandon led a weekly Men's Confession group for 4 years. Tony and Eric co-led a weekly Faithful Friends mental health ministry. Both of these groups were the source of many strong, enduring relationships that developed through transparent communication. Many topics are explored by the author threesome. From Eric: "Thank you listeners for the last 4 years of listening to this podcast. This show has always been about exploring the meaning of healing and I'm grateful to have learned many perspectives, stories, and experiences. I'm thankful for Tony's commitment to the show and I'll continue to encourage him as a true leader of mental health ministry in our country." As promised in episode, here it the link to the native plant ecology work that Eric has been devoting himself to in Columbus. As spring approaches, he will be putting down the mic and picking up a shovel!

In a world with so much pain, suffering, hostility, stress, and anxiety, how is it possible to experience life to the fullest? If you read the news headlines or scroll through social media, we're stuck seeing the worst of humanity on a daily basis. The outlook looks pretty grim, but is there another way? Joining the show today, is author, Brandon Andress. In his new book, Beauty in the Wreckage: Finding Peace in the Age of Outrage, Brandon sets out to give us a different way to look at things. If he’s right, his message is just what we need right now. In the book, Brandon makes the surprising discovery that, even in the heartache, the hostility, the division, the violence, and the oppression, experiencing “life to the fullest,” a life of shalom, is not just possible, it can be our present reality. But in order to discover it, we must learn how to see and live differently—moment by moment—for the transformation of our lives, our families, our relationships, and our communities. Most of us are no stranger to suffering, but it's how we respond to that suffering that has the chance to change us for the better. Brandon shares personal stores about the transformative nature of suffering and the necessity of finding shalom. It's a wonderful soulful chat that you won't want to miss. Come along for the ride as we skewer through life, culture, and spirituality in the face of a changing world. www.SnarkyFaith.com Brandon Andress is the author of three books: Beauty in the Wreckage- Finding Peace in the Age of Outrage(2018) AND THEN THE END WILL COME! Brandon Andress joins us to talk about his excellent new book, "Beauty In The Wreckage: Finding Peace In The Age Of Outrage". Brandon is a prophetic voice for our time calling us to move beyond the "either or" & "in or out" mentality. Get into it and let us know what you think! Beauty in the Wreckage is a profound and poetic book that explores: What it means to experience life to the fullest in the middle of so much pain and suffering, hostility and division, stress and anxiety. Moving beyond the labels, hierarchies, stereotypes, antagonisms, and divisions within our culture and society. The possibility of experiencing life to the fullest once you have been through painful and traumatic life situations or suffering. How the experience of shalom leads to a deeper life of transformation and invites us to become who we were always meant to be. How a deeply-rooted and intimately-connected community, or family, nourishes and strengthens us to experience greater depths of shalom. How the experience of shalom not only transform us individually and relationally, but also begins to transform our communities and our world. brandonandress.com/ - www.quoir.com/ - Buy Beauty In The Wreckage HERE! The law was designed by God to crush us, and that is exactly what it does. It crushes to the point of crying out to God, "I can't do this on my own, please send help!" Enter Jesus into the picture. Jesus perfectly completed, accomplished, and nailed the law to the cross forever ending the burden for mankind to live by it. So why have our churches put in place rules and contingencies on God's free grace? Why, when we realize those rules are wrong, do we continue to try and live by them, or worse, hold others to them? Those are the questions pose to author and speaker Brandon Andress! We hope this humble attempt to tackle a paramount topic in the church finds you well, opens your eyes, and helps encourage you to experience more of God's creation!
