In this episode, Bryan Alzate talks to Kory W about his journey through addiction and recovery. Kory grew up in Davie, Florida, the same town as Bryan, and came from a family with several siblings and parents who drank and partied. Kory's father was a role model for him, and he wanted to be just like him, drinking and smoking as he saw his father do. At the age of eight, Kory had his first beer, and by the time he was in ninth grade, he was already struggling with alcoholism and drug addiction. At a party that he and Bryan both attended, Kory got so drunk that he ended up naked in a bathtub with a group of drunk girls giving him a sponge bath. This embarrassing experience marked the beginning of his descent into addiction, and he soon found himself isolated from his friends and family. Despite being able to hold down a job and help his family financially, Kory couldn't stay sober, and he found himself in jail and in trouble with the law. At one point, he even overdosed and was technically dead in the back of a car. It wasn't until he found a sponsor and started doing the 12 steps that Kory was finally able to stay sober. Although it took more than a year and a half of trying and failing to get sober, Kory's commitment to the program and his love for it helped him achieve long-term sobriety. Today, he has more than six years of sobriety and a fulfilling life, working a great job, engaged to someone he loves, and able to help his family. Get ready to be inspired by this engaging and captivating episode that serves as a powerful reminder that anyone can overcome addiction with the right support and unwavering commitment to change. Don't miss out on the opportunity to hear Kory W's story of struggle, perseverance, and eventual triumph over addiction. Mr. Malone aka Fagsy Malone is a podcast host, artist, spiritual guide, and he’s one of my best most supportive friends. My brotherman! In this episode of Ask Jillian we talk about our relationship, the good and bad times we’ve shared and how there’s always been a lot of laughs.I met Mr. Malone with his BFF director Anne Fletcher at Sandra Bullock’s “All About Steve” movie premiere and became fast friends. Mr. Malone shares some of his unique dating stories, I had never heard of a double dick, didn’t think it existed but you learn something new everyday. Also we talk about when he worked at Disney World as a performer and reluctant character, he nailed Friar Tuck! Then our trip to Disney World together with my kids where we discovered Ruby had created her own new character Princess Rage, a classic villainess! Mr. Malone is an amazing artist. One of his animal portraits of my beloved Teddy is a treasured piece of art in my home. His face swapping and photoshopping skills on Instagram are hilarious and legendary, Barbra (and me) is one of his favorite subjects! We go into how Mr. Malone’s life took a new unexpected direction and he’s no longer doing art. From loss came a rebirth where he tapped into his gift of intuitionism and now gives automatic pen readings at The Crystal Shrine here in Los Angeles. His beloved mother, whose ashes he spread at a Target with Kristen Johnston, had the gift as well. Mr. Malone’s wit, charm and singing talent is featured as a co-host on Straight Talk with Ross Matthews and his own podcast It’s a Gay, Gay, Gay, Gay Podcast, they are both great! We had a lot to catch up on, it was incredible and inspiring to hear about how happy he is now, it gave me hope!MR. MALONE’S INSTAGRAM www.instagram.com/fagsymaloneMR.
