When you've been hurt by a hypocrite, the wound is real. But don't let that wound define your way. Let Jesus define your way.
Over half of teens and adults say they've experienced doubts about their religious beliefs at least sometime. And about half of all Christians say that they have gone through a prolonged period of doubt. Our message series, I Doubt That: A Syllabus for Dealing with Doubt, will help you consider your questions and doubts with openness and honestly.
We've all been hurt by someone who should have known better. Sometimes those hurts lead us to have serious doubt. How can we look beyond those hurts and confide in the One who will never let us down?
LCC 5-7-23 Can I Ask This? Why Have Christians Let Me Down?
It's easy to think of doubt as a sign of weak faith. But it's not. God isn't afraid of our doubts, so we don't have to be either. In our new series, Doubting God, we're creating a space for the questions we've been afraid to ask. Together, let's discover how doubt can actually build our faith.Stay ConnectedWebsite: https://www.lccleveland.com/Liberty Church Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/lcclevelandtx/

Christians Interacting with Non-Christians In today's passage, we see Paul go back to instructions for all Christians as he begins to finish up this great letter, and it should not surprise us that he goes back to the basic instruction to be people of prayer and gospel witness. Read Col. 4:2-6 Christians interacting with non-Christians Let's Pray! One of the main traits of Christian health is prayer V. 2-4 All these with one accord were devoting themselves to prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers. -Acts 1:14 And they devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. -Acts 2:42 “You can do more than pray after you've prayed, but you can not do more than pray until you have prayed.” -John Bunyan This seems to indicate that the people of God did not fight with the hand or weapons so much as with the voice and tongue, that is, they poured forth prayer to God, and thus overcame their adversaries. -Caesarius, Pastor in Arles, France (AD 470-542) Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness: “He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.” -1 Timothy 3:16 Now I promised you a fourth thing about prayer from this verse 2. Look again at the words, “Continue steadfastly.” You need to know that command is in the plural. The command there is to regularly pray out loud with other believers. Wise interactions with non-Christians V. 5-6 Are you finding ways to walk toward those who need Jesus? Are you wasting any time in your life that you need to buy back to spend time advancing the gospel? What does he have in mind by seasoning our speech with salt? Salt does two things – it flavors but also is a preservative that prevents corruption. There is a place for speaking words that are hard to hear – but it must come in the context of relationship where the other person knows how much you care about them.
War. Disease. Flooding. Droughts. How Can Christians Let Go of Anxiety When the News Keeps Getting Worse? Reflections from Psalm 33 It seems like every day the news gets worse. It's so easy to get caught up in what we are seeing in today's times. Yet as believers, shouldn't we act differently? Or feel differently? Today we look to David's example and the hope we have in God's unfailing love. A love that alleviates our anxiety. I pray today's episode is a blessing to you. Today's Key Verse: We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. In Him, our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love be with us, Lord, even as we put our hope in you. Psalm 33:20-22 NIV Hey friends, welcome to the Hearing Jesus Podcast. Do you sometimes doubt if you are truly hearing God's voice or if it's really your own? Do you wonder how you can know the difference? Do you struggle to feel confident in your relationship with God and what He says in his word? Do you sometimes feel stagnant or like you hit a wall in your spiritual life? Hey, I'm your host, Rachael Groll: missionary, author, pastor, and life coach. And I have been there. I, too, was doubting God's voice in my own life. I, too, felt insecure about the things I thought God might be calling me to do. I wanted to make a difference in the world and be obedient to what God was calling me to do, but I wasn't quite sure how to figure out what exactly that was. I kept telling myself that I was wasting time trying to figure it out or waiting for Him to show me. Or that I wasn't qualified to do the things I thought He might be telling me to do. The answer for me was found in the pages of the Bible, as I learned how to understand what it was actually saying. If you are ready to grow in your faith and to step confidently into the calling God has for you, then join me as we dig deep into God's word so you can learn to live out your faith in your everyday life. Friend, you are loved, you are cherished, and you are His. The Hearing Jesus Podcast will encourage and equip you to step into the calling God has for your life, living out your faith in the everyday. Together we will break down walls that keep us from growing spiritually. We will dig deep into our Bibles to understand and connect the Scriptures to our lives. We will boldly obey what God calls us to do, walking through doors that only He can open. Join me for your daily dose of faith, honesty, and prayer. Women often deal with feelings of insecurity and unworthiness, yet the lives of these women show that Jesus values us, wants a relationship with us, and can use us to further His kingdom. In her warm, conversational style, Rachael ties together her life experience, knowledge of the Scriptures, and her compassion for women to encourage us and enable us to become the women God has called us to be.
We are not perfect people but real people being made new. That means that Christians also have the capacity of hurting each other. Pastor Andy McGowan will talk about what the Bible has to say about this topic: When Christians Let You Down.
Would you say you're devoted to others in brotherly love? Hi, I'm Mike Henry Sr., with Follower of One. Thanks for joining me again today on the Follower of One podcast, I've often spoken about verses from Romans 11, and there's a section of verses in Romans 11 that I've not talked about before and that's verses 10 through 15. So I want to do a few part series on these verses because they're right in the middle of a really cool section of this chapter where we are directed on how we interact with one another. And I believe it begins by talking to Christians about how we interact with other believers. And that's what I think this verse is about. But I do believe that the apostle Paul applies this to our relationships with other people as well. And we'll talk about that in some of the later chapters and the later verses. Today's verse is "Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Give preference to one another in honor." That's Romans 12:10 and that was from the New American Standard. In the English Standard Version it says, "Love one another with brotherly affection outdo one another in showing honor." We are called to love other people like they're are brothers, especially those inside the church. And do we do that? Do you catch yourself doing that? This one of the summary verses of this section. It actually talks about our humility and how we're to be humble in verse 16. And I've spoken about that before in episode 33. It was a long time ago in our podcast, so it was one of the very early episodes. But humility's one of those things that I want to talk about every 10 years or so. Actually, no - I need to talk about it more than that. I have a problem with arrogance. And so that's one of those things I'm constantly on myself about. That's part of the reason why I keep coming back to this section of scripture. When I can put others ahead of myself, when I can be devoted to them in brotherly love, when I can give preference to them in honor, I can try and outdo each other by showing honor to others. When I am able to love them and out do them and showing honor to them, this is a challenge. It's a practical challenge for us as marketplace Christians. Every day as we go into our workplace, this one verse is plenty to do. We can be devoted to one another in brotherly love. We can show mutual love, It says in the net Bible. Or brotherly affection as it says in the ESV, or brotherly love in the other chapters. It's talking about phileo. It's talking about this mutual affection that we have for others. It requires us to give it first. As Christ followers we give that love first. Almost always we respond to people loving us with love. But almost never do we give it first. And Christians, I believe, are called to give that love first. That way we get to go into our workplaces today and look for opportunities to give away the love of Christ, to appreciate people and show them that we appreciate them. Help them feel appreciated. It's not how we act as much as it is how they feel. And so that's our challenge for today. Today. I want to challenge us as marketplace Christians: Let's go into our workplaces today and if we know other Christ followers in the workplace, then let's especially be preferential towards them. Let's do things to show this honor and brotherly love towards believers. But, let's also do that with our coworkers. These people are giving away their lives in their job at the same rate we are giving away our life in our jobs. So let's go invest our lives because our lives as Christ followers will last forever. So we can give away what we have now, so that these other people that we know might move a little closer to Jesus. That's our goal. That's our ministry - to help other people move one notch closer to Jesus. So today please be devoted to one another in brotherly love and watch what God does in your workplace. Thank you for being a marketplace minister, and thank you for making a difference with your faith. Share this podcast with a friend and remember we're a donor supported podcast. On this Episode: CHRISTIAN RESPONSE TO THE "LET'S GO BRANDON" PHENOMENON The Scriptures have a lot to say about the Christian's participation in the culture -- in particularly how we use our words. Let's apply that to the "Let's Go Brandon" phenomenon and a couple other items. LESSONS FOR TRAVEL I recently visited Amish country and the city of Philadelphia. There is something inside all of us that wants our lives to matter. We want to make a difference in the world. What does that look like for us as Christians? Let's look at the one example that matters: Jesus. How do we follow as his disciples?

We present another “Riddle Me This” question submitted from Podcast Land, this time it has to do with social media content creation. What else can you share other than “quotes from weekend sermons, scripture verses, videos about how volunteers "volunteer" and testimony's of new / old Christians”? Let's talk about that...
In our verse-by-verse study of the Book of Romans, we have been looking at chapter 14 where the Apostle Paul assures us that fellow believers will have differing opinions on how to live the Christian life. And knowing that, except for fundamental doctrines of our faith, Paul encourages us to give each other grace and latitude when it comes to those differences. But how far do we take that? Should we limit our own freedoms in Christ just to please other Christians? Let’s join Pastor Brian now and find out as he picks up our study at Romans chapter 14, verse 16, and tells us more about how to achieve Christian “Unity Despite Differences.”
Last time, in our verse-by-verse study of the Book of Romans, we started looking at the beginning of chapter 7 where the Apostle Paul examines the relationship between the Law of God and believers in Jesus Christ. What is the law to Christians? Let’s join Pastor Brian now and find out as he picks up our study at Romans chapter 7, verse 4, and continues to look at the relationship between “You and God’s Law.”

Who exactly were Cephas, James and John, mentioned in Galatians 2? Why is the story of the loaves and fishes considered a miracle? The disciples were not the only ones who had some food, but not enough to feed everyone. Jesus got everyone to share some of what they had, and it turns out there was more than enough for everyone. A historic appearance to Paul would have had to occur post ascension (according to the New Testament timeline). In order to argue that Paul is encountering the resurrected Jesus, wouldn't you have to assume that Jesus returned to earth after the ascension? Should we now to be expecting a 3rd coming? A new theory of an historical Jesus should attempt to find Jesus in a wider than traditional historical range. Rene Salm found that Nazareth was inhabited before Jesus was supposedly born, after he supposedly died, but not when he was supposedly alive. And some traditions place Jesus at about 100 BC. Why not start here? Why shouldn't Christian parents refrain from raising their children as Christians? Let them have their own conversion experiences. What are your thoughts are about Papias of Hierapolis? Did he really get first-hand testimony from Jesus' apostles?
Why do we need to "make every effort" to be people of integrity? Why is it such a huge deal to Christians? Let's dig into 2 Peter 3:14 to see what God has to say about it!
