In der Nachmittagsfolge begrüßen wir heute Luca Martinelli, General Partner bei Btov. Btov ist eine europäische Venture Capital Gesellschaft mit Niederlassungen in St. Gallen, Berlin, München sowie Luxemburg und wurde im Jahr 2000 mit dem Namen BrainsToVentures gegründet. Vor der Umbenennung war der heutige Risikokapitalgeber als Online-Matching-Plattform für Investitionslösungen aus privater, unternehmerischer oder institutioneller Hand zuständig. Heute verwaltet Btov rund 510 Millionen Euro in institutionellen Fonds, Partnerfonds und Direktinvestitionen von über 250 Privatinvestoren. Mit einem Frühphasenfokus in Europa, USA und Israel hat Btov bereits in über 200 Startups investiert. Zum Unternehmensportfolio gehören u.a. Blacklane, DeepL, Facebook, Finanzcheck, Foodspring, Exosome Dx, Orcam, Quanta, Data Artisans, Raisin, SumUp, Urban Sports Club, Volocopter und Xing. Die Investments sind in der Regel zwischen 0,25 bis 10 Millionen Euro hoch und stammen aus einem der 9 von Btov aufgelegten Fonds. Der neueste Fonds des europäischen VCs hat im September 2021 das Final Closing mit einem Gesamtvolumen von 135 Millionen US-Dollar abgeschlossen. Der Early-Stage Fonds namens Btov Digital Tech II fokussiert sich wie sein Vorgänger auf KI, Digital Health, FinTech, Logistik und B2B SaaS. Dabei soll insbesondere in Seed-Runden oder der Serie A investiert werden. Das Privatinvestorennetzwerk hat mit über 70 Business Angels in den Fonds investiert. Zu den Investoren gehören u.a. der Co-Founder von Logitech Daniel Borel, der Founder von Scout 24 Joachim Schoss und der Global Unicorn Hunter Daniel Gutenberg.
