At the moment e-scooter users are supposed to be at least 16 years of age. This lunchtime it's been confirmed that e-scooters are going to be banned for under 18s. Dr Suzanne Crowe, Consultant in Children's Intensive Care in Crumlin Children's Hospital.

In recent weeks, the Irish Government has come under pressure to introduce a ban on e-scooters following a steep increase in the number of serious e-scooter accidents involving children. One of those supporting the ban is Seana Brennan, a mother of two from Cavan whose son, Mason, was involved in a serious e-scooter accident last year.Brennan joins Bernice Harrison on today's episode to share her family's experience and to highlight the dangers e-scooters pose to children. A second Coroner has joined Police in calling for helmets to be mandatory for anyone riding an e-scooter. Helmets are mandatory for cyclists, but still optional for e-scooter riders. Auckland Paediatric Emergency Physician, Dr Stuart Dalziel spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss.

Die Unfallzahlen in Zusammenhang mit E-Scootern steigen rapide - nicht zuletzt, weil immer mehr Elektroroller auf den Straßen unterwegs sind. Oder als Stolperfallen auf dem Gehweg liegen. Die Polizei versucht nun, beispielsweise im Märkischen Kreis, an Schulen über den Umgang mit E-Scootern aufzuklären.
