Transforming Perspectives | Having our names written in the Lamb's Book of Life, is an obscured authentication of believer's Faith in Jesus Christ. Biblically, it is a wondrous act, conveyed when Jesus spoke to Nicodemus, of one's proof of having entered into the kingdom of God, born of the Spirit. The Lamb's book of life, distinct from the book of life, contains the records of every person having accepted Jesus Christ, as the righteousness of God, and the propitiation for their sins, the atoning sacrifice satisfying the penalty of death, and becoming born again. Formidably, the book of life, are accountings and recordation of all creation as well as all humanity on earth.  This Book is more than ledgers as men would believe, but actuaries in the realm of the counsel of God. Archives of his knowledge and observance of every person, as expressed by David, exalting Almighty God, “Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet, there was none of them.”  Psalms 139:16, English Standard Version.In the Book of Revelation, Apostle John, received in visions, Letters from the Lord written to the ‘Seven Churches,' exhorting of them his assessment of their Faith. Noteworthy, are the significances of the Lord's frankness, timing and urgency of the delivered messages. 2 Peter 1:8-11 October 19, 2025 PM.Peter promises us that those who are true Christians showing abundant fruit will be fruitful and productive children of God. Peter also warns us that those who lack fruit show themselves to be no Christians at all. Therefore, in addition to giving God all glory, the fruit of living Christian lives gives us great assurance of our salvation and the reward of an eternal Kingdom

The Portage church of Christ is a group of pre-denominational Christians that are striving to serve the Lord together. To become a Christian, the Bible teaches: Hear the gospel (Rom. 10:17) Believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God (John 8:24, 58, Heb. 11:6) Repent of past sins (Luke 13:3, 5) Confess Jesus as Lord (Matt. 10:32-33, Rom. 10:9-10) Be baptized for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38, Mark 16:16) Remain Faithful to Christ (Rev. 2:10, 2 Tim 4:7-8)

Today’s message is titled “Making our Calling and Election Sure.” Peter continues to discuss the importance of every person “making every effort” to grow in the 7 major characteristics of God in order to protect us from becoming unproductive and ineffective in the Kingdom, and most importantly, to be welcomed by God into His eternal Heavenly Kingdom. To do this, we must “abide” in Christ. Read John 15 and study what it means to abide in Christ. Then, ask yourself some questions to see if you are abiding in Him or if you are at risk of detaching yourself from the vine. As we follow through on our walk with Christ, we are making our “calling and election” sure, and in doing so, we are building a solid and strong foundation that will help us persevere to the end with patient obedience. Worship and study with us!

I am to make my calling and election sure, so I may find entrance into the Kingdom of God.
