Send us a text Is Joel Osteen simply a positive preacher—or is there more beneath the surface? In this episode, we dive into America's most popular pastor's life, message, and massive platform. We examine the Prosperity Gospel, its roots, and why Osteen's version of Christianity may be more harmful than it appears. Is it biblical encouragement or merely self-help wrapped in a Christian veneer? Support the show
On this episode of Uncommon Sense with Ginny Robinson, I explain why I've shifted to a neutral stance on the Israel-Iran conflict. While mainstream media pressures us to “pick a side,” Scripture tells a deeper story, one that's not bound by modern borders or politics.Christians are the true Israel, not by race or nation, but by faith in Christ. The Church is the chosen people of God, not a geopolitical state. So why are we being told that standing with the a government equals standing with God?We'll unpack the phrase “Judeo-Christian”—what it really means (and what it doesn't)—and discuss how religiously manipulative narratives can cloud our judgment. Supporting everything any group does (whether Jewish, Christian, or Muslim) is not biblical discernment. It's idolatry.None of us are perfect. Not every Christian represents Christ well, and not every Jew or Muslim represents their faith's ideals either. So let's step back, seek the truth, and refuse to be emotionally blackmailed into blind allegiance.--https://policecoffee.com/collections/coffee

We're flooded with opinions- influencers, false teachers, YouTube preachers. God has made it clear about Jesus, His voice must be supreme. False Teachers rely on human wisdom; John reminds us: God's word is greater. (Proverbs 3:5 - “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” The Testimony Within This isn't some mystical elitism. This is grace-born assurance. Distract from the Holy Spirit “You've been taught wrong” “Let ME show you the hidden meaning” “Jesus didn't really mean that” We are not left to figure it out alone. We have the Holy Spirit False Teachers and their distractions False Teachers in Today's Church Garden of Eden (Gen 3:1) The serpent moves from questioning God's word to direct rejection of it. “You surely will not die” The serpent explains why God actually does not want people to eat from the tree. Jesus is a moral example, not a savior Downplays sin and elevates personal truth Encourages spiritual journeys without submission to Christ Not a blatant disregard of the truth, more of a shade of the truth. They sound so reasonable and even impressive. False teachers question what God said. False teachers defy or reject what God said. False teachers offer a “better” alternative Usually subtle Stand Firm Know the testimony Read the Word. Know what God says. Trust the testimony Let the Spirit affirm your faith, not shake it. Reject false testimony Don't flirt with distortion. Encourage others. Speak up when the truth is twisted. Be Bold in truth, gentle in love Set Boundaries to avoid false teaching Ask God to strengthen your knowledge, wisdom, and discernment in His Word. Guard your heart How Do We Respond? Conclusion: The time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths,” 2 Timothy 4:3-4

Send us a textIn Romans 12: 3-8 instructs us about spiritual gifts. These gifts are for the edification of the Church, not to be exercised in arrogance or in showy manner. Our incarnate Lord, though being God, exhibited meekness during His earthly ministry, leaving us an example to follow. Our spiritual gifts are to be exercised to serve others, we are not to be self-serving. The gifts are exactly that; gifts from God to bring Him glory. We have nothing to boast about, and are never to think we are superior to any other member of the body because of any gift we have,There is only ONE way to be a Christian!

In this sermon, Pastor Nathan revisits his message from 2 Peter 2 about identifying and dealing with false teachers. He offers encouragement from Hebrews 12:4–8 to those who may be questioning themselves as possibly being false teachers, reminding us all of the characteristics of false teachers in comparison to those of God's children.
This Reformed Rookie podcast episode delves into the dangers of false teaching, drawing heavily from Paul's letters to Titus and Timothy. Pastor Anthony discusses the characteristics of false teachers—insubordination, deceit, empty talk, and greed—and their destructive impact on families and the church. He explores specific heresies prevalent in the early church, including Gnosticism and Judaizing legalism, contrasting them with the true gospel of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ alone. The importance of sound doctrine, scriptural authority, and the role of church elders in confronting false teaching are emphasized. The episode also highlights the need for unity in Christ, transcending cultural and racial divisions, using Peter's actions in Galatians 2 as a cautionary tale. The podcast concludes with a call to stand firm on biblical truth and resist the ever-evolving tactics of Satan.00:08:32 - Sound Doctrine & Rebuke03:55 - False Teachers in Crete & Ephesus07:56 - Confronting False Teachers11:28:13 - Characteristics of False Teachers15:08 - Dangers of False Teaching18:06 - True vs. False Christianity21:58 - Early Church Heresies28:03 - Gospel Integrity & Discipline35:05 - Combating False Doctrine38:28 - Silencing False Teachers41:50 - Unity in ChristPodcast: www.ReformedRookie.comPodcast: https://anchor.fm/reformedrookieFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheReformedRookie Twitter: https://twitter.com/NYapologistSemper Reformanda!
