Thriving Adoptees - Inspiration For Adoptive Parents & Adoptees

How much are you enjoying life? The more deeply we can see that joy  is an inside job the more we can enjoy life. Listen in as we dive into accepting missing pieces of our story, finding joy and more.Leigh Lincoln is an author whose narratives resonate deeply with the human experience. With a passion for storytelling that touches hearts and provokes thoughtful reflection, she has carved a path that intertwines her love for writing with her dedication to advocating for the homeless and those living in poverty. Her journey as an author is a testament to her commitment to making people ponder the choices they make, how they treat others, and the importance of empathy. Leigh's journey has led her down a remarkable path of advocacy for the homeless and impoverished communities. For over three decades, she has dedicated herself to making a difference in the lives of those in need. Her first novel, “Road Home,” was born from this tireless work. It serves as a thought-provoking mirror to society, challenging readers to consider how they live, treat others, and desire to be treated.Leigh's literary exploration continues with the “Broken Roads Series.” Comprising novels like “Road to Freedom,” “Finding the Real Road,” and “The Road West,” these stories delve into the idea that life doesn't always follow the path we envision. Instead, we encounter unexpected twists and turns, forcing us to gather the fragments of our existence and move forward.Leigh's most recent series, “Path to family,” stands as her most personal work to date. “The Path to Family Series” shines a light on the emotional and hopeful tale of adoption.Having been adopted, Leigh's life had been shaped by this framework. And she has been blessed by finding a half-sister and her birth father. Her hope in writing these novels is to help others understand the complexities and emotions involved in the adoption process. She invites her readers to connect with the emotional depths of the narrative and the various perspectives. Leigh is not just an author; she's a voice that encourages others to find their own. Through her interviews on various podcasts and radio shows, she strives to inspire individuals to discover their unique voices, explore the world, and never shy away from meaningful conversations. Her passion lies in crafting novels that resonate with readers on a profound emotional level, aiming to uplift, inspire, and provoke introspection.Find out more athttps://leighlincolnauthor.com/https://www.linkedin.com/in/leigh-lincoln-24218a133/https://www.instagram.com/lincolnleigh/https://www.facebook.com/leigh.lincoln.2025/ Guests and the host are not (unless mentioned) licensed pscyho-therapists and speak from their own opinion only. Anxiety, overwhelm, and a quiet sense that something was always just a little off.In this powerful episode, we welcome back Dr. Diana Barrett and Dr. Lynne Baldwin to unpack one of the most important and misunderstood ADHD conversations: how it shows up differently in girls versus boys—and why so many of us didn't get diagnosed until adulthood.Whether you're wondering about your own missed diagnosis or looking at your daughter and thinking, “Is something going on here?”—this conversation will help you understand what to look for, what's been missing from the research, and how to advocate (with or without a formal diagnosis).

If you haven't accepted the adoption, what is stopping you? Would you want to sign those adoption papers?2) If you do have a relationship with Jesus Christ, how can the information presented in this sermon change how you view God? Will you change how you abide with Him, or change how you view your identity as a son or daughter, or change how you see your assurance of an inheritance with Jesus?

Paradigms of Marriage with Companion Workbook: Ten Ways to Ensure and Restore Marital Happiness: Pit or Paradise by Robert O.A. Samms, PhDThe main purpose of this book is to promote successful relationships by isolating the key factors that contribute to the success or failure of the marriage experience.Samms selected ten key factors by ferreting out the main issues that affected his marriages to his deceased wife Pamela (48 years) and his present wife Petula and by reviewing the findings of some prominent relationship professionals. The word paradigms is used in the title to indicate that simple patterns or graphic illustrations were employed to assist the readers to more easily understand the key issues that determine the success or failure of the marital relationship. Taken seriously, these ten illustrated strategies should provide significant aid to married couples as well as to single and divorced individuals who hope to be married and develop successful relationships.Paradigms of Marriage with Companion Workbook is based on the view that we can isolate the reasons for marriages, after an exhilarating beginning—either drift toward pain, pressure, and problems or climb toward enjoyment, pleasure, and happiness. This book focuses on the tension between pit and paradise, revealing which issues lead relationships to the pit and which lead to paradise. Each chapter suggests ways for couples to avoid the pit and achieve paradise. It is designed to help couples discover and remain on the path to marital success. The basic ideas are drawn from the authors' previously published book Making Marriage Meaningful but here, a more practical approach is developed. This book is the published form of the PowerPoint presentations used in the Marriage Motivational Series.Robert O. A. Samms (PhD., McGill University), Marriage/Family Educator, Retired Minister (SDA Church).   Served in four countries: Jamaica, Bahamas, Canada, USA. Positions Held: High School Principal, Education Superintendent, Conference. Current Occupation: President, Family/Marriage Consulting Ministry. Support our mission to change a culture, one man at a time – https://menofiron.org/donate This week we wrap up our Family Series as we talk about a taboo topic in the church, blended families. In the most recent U.S. Census it says that there are 1,300 step families being created every day. A blended family is different biological households that are now combined due to divorce, the death of a spouse, etc. Blended families are something that we need to be talking about. God's design for the family in scripture was very specific. But the reality is we live in a broken world with broken relationships. If you are a dad leading a blended family, you know that you are going to face some challenges that a traditional family might not have to deal with. It's going to take a little more work and a little more intentionality. But God can and will redeem your role as the leader of your family. Five Practical For Creating a Healthy Blended Family #1 – Put God first in YOUR life #2 – Show your kids what a godly husband and father looks like #3 – Deal with the trauma – be aware of it, be open about it, talk about it #4 – You are the spiritual leader for your biological kids AND your step kids #5 – Be respectful of the other family involved We would love to help equip you for this journey, reach out to us today and let us be a resource for you! https://menofiron.org/contact-us/ You can now watch the Men of Iron Podcast on YouTube – www.youtube.com/@men_of_iron. Support our mission to change a culture, one man at a time – https://menofiron.org/donate This week we continue our Family Series as we talk about Broken Marriages and Relationships and how to find restoration. When you are dealing with a broken marriage or relationship, it's a really hard place to be. One of the best ways to avoid a broken marriage is to not let it get there in the first place. Which is easier said than done! God will bless your marriage when you put the work in. Take a step even when it doesn't feel right. If you are in a place of brokenness and feel hopeless, remember God knows who you are and where you are. He calls you his son and will come to you in your mess. Broken relationships exist in marriages, with kids, friends, and many more situations. Ryan shares an amazing story of a broken relationship between a father and son restored through Christ. Remember there is potential for restoration in that broken relationship, you just have to give it to God.  Four Steps to Restore Your Marriage and Broken Relationships: #1 – Evaluate your relationship with God #2 – Remember that God knows what your going through #3 – Think through what your broken relationship is suppose to teach you #4 – Share your story of how God changed your broken relationship We would love to help equip you for this journey, reach out to us today and let us be a resource for you! https://menofiron.org/contact-us/ You can now watch the Men of Iron Podcast on YouTube – www.youtube.com/@men_of_iron. Support our mission to change a culture, one man at a time – https://menofiron.org/donate This week we continue our Family Series as we talk about A Man and His Kids. How are you spiritually leading your kids? It's easy to think that someone else like a pastor or teacher will do it, but listen up dads, NO ONE will have more impact on your kids spiritual formation than you. It's never too late to take your spiritual responsibility seriously. The best thing you can do to spiritually invest in your kids is to invest in them when they are young. God from the very beginning wanted fathers to take the spiritual development of their kids very seriously. Dads are suppose to lead their kids. When father's fail at their job, culture takes over. Men, it takes intentionality, you don't accidentally disciple your kids. If you don't know where to start or how to lead your kids spiritually, just take one small step today. Read a Bible story at the dinner table, pray before each meal, share a story of how God worked in your own life. Intentionality is the key word men, lead your kids on purpose. What Does the Bible Say About A Man's Role? (EP. 212)

This week we begin our Family Series as we talk about what a man's role in the home looks like. At the forefront of views on manhood are often the cultural narratives about toxic masculinity. When we look at what the Bible says, from creation in Genesis 1, Gods makes man in His own image. God gave Adam authority over everything in the world, but also provided a companion for Adam to serve as his helper. They were both created in God's image with unique tasks and skillsets.  When sin entered the world Adam tried to hide what happened and blamed it on Eve. Men we must lead from a servant position, not a power position. We as men don't have more value than women, we just have different roles. When we are intentional about our role as men in the home, we lead from a servant position. As men we often put so much effort into being a great leader at work and don't have the energy to be a great leader at home. When we look at Paul's teachings in Ephesians, he was doing something wildly radical in teaching men how to to lead their families from a servant position. It was countercultural, and still is today! Let's be countercultural men! Be a man that your wife wants to follow, that your kids want to follow.
