Genesis 37:26-28 | The Place YOU Didn't CHOOSE… May Be Part of the PLANYOU ended up somewhere YOU never would have chosen.A situation YOU did not sign up for. A place YOU were pushed into by someone else's decision, someone else's betrayal, or circumstances that were completely out of YOUR hands. YOU did not want to be here. YOU did not plan for this. And a part of YOU has been treating this whole season as a detour — a mistake to survive and escape from — never once considering that the place YOU did not choose might be the exact place YOU were meant to be.Genesis 37 begins with someone taken to a place he never chose. He did not go willingly. He was handed over, sold, carried off to a foreign place by people who were supposed to protect him — for a price, like he was nothing. Everything familiar was stripped away. Everything he had been promised seemed impossible now. By every measure, being taken to that place was the end of his story. It looked like betrayal had won and his dreams were finished. But something went with him that changed everything. Here is what most people miss. In the place he did not choose — the place that looked like punishment, like the ruin of everything — something began to happen that never could have happened anywhere else. He did not just survive there. He began to rise. Favor found him. Everything he touched started to prosper. The very place that was meant to bury him became the place he was quietly being positioned and prepared for something far bigger than the life he lost. The place he did not choose was the place God had chosen for him.And it was not only for him. What happened in that place spilled over onto everyone around him — even the household of the man who owned him was blessed because of the one who had been dragged there against his will. The forced place became a place of overflow. There is something in this passage about what follows YOU into the place YOU did not choose — a presence that does not stay behind when YOUR circumstances change — that will completely shift how YOU see the situation YOU have been begging God to get YOU out of. Because YOU may have been so focused on escaping it that YOU never noticed what God was doing inside it.What went with him? What started happening in the place he never chose? And what if the thing YOU are trying to escape is the exact place YOU are being positioned for?Press play — because the place YOU didn't choose may be part of the plan. This message will show YOU what God does in the seasons YOU never wanted, and why the place that looks like a detour may be YOUR exact assignment.

YOU have been praying for the wrong thing. Not because YOUR heart is wrong. Because YOU have been asking for what YOU think will get YOU through the day — and settling for it — when God has been standing there the whole time with something so much bigger that YOUR request almost sounds small next to it. YOU learned to ask for enough to survive. YOU stopped asking for the thing that would actually change everything.Acts 3 is the story of a man in exactly that trap.He was in the same spot he was every day, doing the only thing he knew to do to make it through — asking for a little help, a little relief, just enough to get by one more day. It was all he expected. It was all he thought was possible for someone in his condition. So he asked for the small thing. And he was told no.Here is what most people miss. The two men he asked did not have what he requested — and they said so, plainly. But instead of walking past him, one of them said a sentence that stopped everything. He told the man to look at them. And then he offered him something the man had never once thought to ask for — something that made the thing he had been begging for his whole life completely unnecessary. What was it? And why did it require the man to do something first?Because nothing happened while the man sat there. There was a moment — a specific action, a reach, a decision to move — that stood between him and the thing being offered. And the instant it happened, something that had never worked in his entire life worked immediately and completely. There is also a detail about what he did the second it happened — where he went, and how — that tells YOU everything about what real deliverance does to a person who has spent years defined by what they could not do.And then there is the question the crowd asked afterward, and the answer that was given — the name behind all of it — that reframes where the power actually came from, and puts the same access within YOUR reach right now.

What do you do when you have prayed, worked, tried, and still have nothing to show for it?In Luke 5:1–11, Jesus meets Peter beside empty nets and asks him to trust His word one more time: “Because You say so, I will let down the nets.”This sermon explores what happens when disappointment begins shaping what we expect from God, ourselves, and the future. Empty nets may tell the truth about yesterday, but they cannot tell us what Jesus will do next.In this message:• Why disappointment must not become prophecy• How to obey without demanding a guaranteed result• Why grace meets us when we feel unworthy• How Jesus calls ordinary, imperfect people into His mission• What it means to put the nets back into the waterYou are not required to be the Savior or control the outcome. You are called to hear Jesus, receive His grace, and take the next faithful step.Scripture: Luke 5:1–11Sermon: When Nothing Seems to Be WorkingSeries: Formed by the Flow: Clearing the ChannelPreacher: Lane BrownChurch: Chandler Street Church of Christ, Kilgore, TexasShare this sermon with someone who is discouraged, tired of trying, or wondering whether anything is really changing.#Luke5 #TrustJesus #ChristianSermon #WhenNothingSeemsToBeWorking #FaithAfterFailure #BecauseYouSaySo #ChurchOfChrist #ChristianEncouragement #BibleSermon #Jesus

When You Long for God: A Psalm of Desire

Sermons

“When You Long for God: A Psalm of Desire” Psalm 63 Week 4 of “Summer Psalms: Ancient Songs for Modern Hearts” We've spent three weeks exploring Psalms that meet us in crisis, in waiting, in uncertainty. This final week, we explore something different: longing. Not crisis. Not waiting. But a deep ache for God's presence. A spiritual thirst. A heart that says, “I need more of God than I currently have.” Summer is a season when we can feel this. Slower pace. Time to think. Time to notice what we're missing. Time to feel the gap between who we are and who we're called to be. Some of you know this feeling. You remember when your faith was alive. When prayer felt real. When God felt close. And somewhere along the way, it faded. And now you're feeling the absence. You're longing for what you've lost. This is when you need Psalm 63. David wrote this psalm in a wilderness season—literally fleeing for his life, camping in desert places. And in that wilderness, in that loneliness, something awakened in him. A desperate hunger for God. A longing for God's presence that was stronger than his physical need for food or water. “O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh yearns for You, in a dry and weary land where there is no water” (Psalm 63:1). That's the heart cry of this psalm. Not need. Longing. THE PSALM: LISTEN TO DAVID'S DESIRE FOR GOD Psalm 63:1-2, “O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh yearns for You, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. Thus I have beheld You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory.” Notice the language. “My soul thirsts.” “My flesh yearns.” This is not intellectual. This is visceral. David's entire being—soul and body—is reaching for God. Then verse 3: “Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, I will praise You.” This is the central declaration of the psalm. God's lovingkindness is better than life itself. Better than comfort. Better than security. Better than anything else. Then verses 5-8: “My soul is satisfied as with marrow and fatness, and my mouth offers praises with joyful lips. When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches. Because You have been my help, and in the shadow of Your wings I sing for joy. My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me.” David is in the wilderness. Physically uncomfortable. Possibly hungry. But spiritually satisfied. His longing for God has been met, and that meeting satisfies more than food could satisfy. THE REALITY: SPIRITUAL THIRST AND THE WILDERNESS Here's what most of us don't talk about: Many of us have drifted from real faith into routine faith. We still go to church. We still pray (maybe). We still believe (sort of). But there's no fire. No longing. No passionate seeking. We've settled for less than what's available. Maybe it happened gradually. Life got busy. Kids. Work. Responsibilities. Mortgage. The grind. And somewhere between the busyness, the intimacy with God faded. Prayer became obligation instead of conversation. Worship became routine instead of real. We show up, we go through the motions, we leave feeling like we've checked a box. Or maybe it happened because we've experienced disappointment. We prayed and God didn't answer the way we wanted. We trusted and felt let down. We gave our whole heart and got hurt. And now, to protect ourselves, we've backed away. We keep our distance. We believe in God intellectually, but we don't long for God emotionally. We've built walls. Or maybe we've just gotten comfortable. Our faith became comfortable. Manageable. Safe. And somewhere along the way, we forgot what it felt like to actually hunger for God. To want Him like we want food and water. To seek Him like a person lost in the desert seeks water. But Psalm 63 invites us to something different: passionate faith. Living faith. The kind that says, “My soul thirsts for You. My flesh yearns for You.” And here's the beautiful part: this longing often awakens in the wilderness. Not in comfort, but in hard places. In loneliness. In disappointment. In seasons that strip away the comfortable surface and show us what we really need. I think of a woman I know who grew up in the faith. Church every Sunday. Youth group. Christian college. The whole package. But somewhere along the way, it all became mechanical. Prayer was something she did in the morning because it was routine. Worship was something that happened on Sunday because that's what you do. Scripture reading was a check mark on a discipline list. But there was no fire. No joy. No longing. Then one season, she got honest with God. “I don't feel anything,” she said in prayer. “I've lost my passion. I've lost my longing for You. What happened to me?” And instead of pretending everything was fine, instead of beating herself up, she started seeking. Real seeking. She read Scripture differently—not to check a box, but asking God to speak. She prayed differently—out loud, honest, raw. She started going on prayer walks. She joined a small group where she could be real about her struggle. And gradually—not all at once, but gradually—that longing came back. Not because her circumstances changed. Not because a crisis forced her to seek. But because she stopped settling for routine and started pursuing real intimacy. APPLICATION: THE WILDERNESS AWAKENS LONGING One reason Psalm 63 is so powerful is that David wrote it in the wilderness—in hard circumstances. Not in comfort, but in the dry and weary place. And in the wilderness, something awakened. His longing for God. The text says, “my soul thirsts for You; my flesh yearns for You, in a dry and weary land where there is no water.” The wilderness wasn't a detour from his spiritual journey. It was the place where his spiritual passion was rekindled. Sometimes we need the wilderness to wake us up. Not the crisis that demands rescue. Not the waiting that teaches patience. But the loneliness that makes us realize what we're missing. The wilderness that shows us how thirsty we actually are. C.S. Lewis wrote about this. He talked about “the sweet poison of false security.” When life is comfortable, when everything is fine, when we have enough security and enough entertainment and enough success, we stop seeking God desperately. We're satisfied with the surface. We're content with routine. But when comfort is stripped away, when we're alone in the wilderness, when the things we thought satisfied us don't, the real longing surfaces. And that's actually a gift. Your dissatisfaction might not be a sign that something's wrong with you. It might be the Holy Spirit beckoning you back. It might be the beginning of a deeper journey into intimacy with God. THE DISCIPLINE: PURSUING GOD DELIBERATELY Notice what David does in the wilderness. He doesn't just experience longing passively. He pursues it actively. He doesn't wait for God to force intimacy. He reaches out. “Thus I have beheld You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory” (verse 2). He's remembering encounters with God. He's meditating on God's presence and power. He's calling to mind the times when he experienced God's character firsthand. In the middle of the desert, he's remembering what God looked like in the sanctuary. “When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches” (verse 6). He's being intentional. In the quiet hours when he can't sleep—and you know, if you're camping in the desert and your enemies are hunting you, you're not sleeping well—he's choosing to think about God. To remember. To meditate. To rehearse God's faithfulness and character. Have you ever woken in the middle of the night, your mind overcome with the burden of worry or anxiety? I have, I have been there many times myself. What to do? Where to turn? “I meditate on You in the night watches.” “My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me” (verse 8). He's clinging. Holding tight. Desperately grasping. Not distantly believing, but closely holding. Not going through the motions, but actively, physically, emotionally clinging. This is the practice. Deliberately seeking. Meditating. Remembering. Clinging. It's work. It's intentional. It's not passive. In our comfortable lives, we can drift without noticing. Without intention. We wake up one day and realize the fire is gone. But if we want to recover a passionate faith, if we want to feel that longing again, we have to be deliberate. We can't expect it to happen to us. We have to cultivate it. We have to carve out time. Time to pray without an agenda. Time to read Scripture not looking for a quick answer, but wanting to know God. Time to worship not because it's Sunday, but because we're hungry. Time to sit in silence and just be present to God. We have to remember. Deliberately recall the times when you knew God was real. Meditate on God's past faithfulness. Let memories of encounter stir your heart. We have to confess our drift. Get honest. “I've settled for routine. I've kept my distance. I want more. I want to long for You like David longed for You.” And we have to persist. Because recovering spiritual passion isn't always immediate. It takes time. It takes practice. But it's worth it. THE INVITATION: TASTE AND SEE Here's the profound promise at the end of Psalm 63: “My soul is satisfied as with marrow and fatness” (verse 5). David's thirst has been satisfied. His longing has been met. And the satisfaction is complete. “Better than life,” he says about God's lovingkindness. And that's the invitation Psalm 63 extends to you: Taste this. Experience real intimacy with God. Let your longing be satisfied. Not in the future. Not when circumstances are better. But now. Even in the wilderness. Even in the mundane. Even in summer when you have time to notice what's missing—that's when you can discover what's available. HOW TO PRAY THIS PSALM First: Pray it in quiet moments. Psalm 63 is a meditation. It's meant for early morning or late night. The times when you have space to think and feel and long. Second: Be honest about your longing (or lack of it). If you've drifted, admit it. “O God, I've lost my thirst for You. Awaken it in me again.” Third: Remember encounters with God. Think back to times when you knew God was real. Times when prayer felt alive. Times when His presence was tangible. Let those memories stir your longing. Fourth: Meditate on God's character. “Your lovingkindness is better than life.” Spend time thinking about what that means. What does it look like to choose God over everything else? Fifth: Practice spiritual disciplines. Read Scripture. Pray. Worship. Sit in silence. These aren't meant to be legalistic. They're meant to be pathways toward intimacy. Ways of saying to God, “I want more of You.” Sixth: Cling. Don't hold back. Don't keep God at a distance to protect yourself. The promise is that His right hand upholds you. You're safe to pursue Him desperately. THE GIFT OF DESIRE Some of you have never lost this longing. Your faith has always been alive. Your heart has always reached for God. You're the kind of person who finds joy in worship, who experiences real connection in prayer, who feels God's presence tangibly. That's beautiful. Treasure it. Keep pursuing. Keep clinging. Keep letting Him satisfy your deepest thirst. And please, help the rest of us remember what we're aiming for. Others of you have lost it. The fire has faded. The intimacy has grown distant. Maybe it was gradual. Maybe it was sudden. But you can feel the absence. You remember what it was like to know God intimately, and you grieve the loss. Psalm 63 is an invitation to remember. To seek again. To let your soul thirst for God like it once did. The longing can return. The fire can be rekindled. It takes intention, but it's possible. And still others of you are in the first awakening. You're beginning to feel the longing. You're beginning to notice what's missing. That restlessness you feel? That's not a sign of crisis. That's a sign of spiritual health. That ache is the Holy Spirit calling you back to intimacy. Don't dismiss it. Don't medicate it. Pay attention to it. Let it lead you toward God. CONCLUSION As we close this summer of Psalms, we've journeyed through crisis, through waiting, through uncertainty, and now to longing. Four different seasons of the soul. Four ancient prayers that speak to modern hearts. But Psalm 63 reminds us of the heart of it all. Everything else—the rescues, the waiting, the guidance—it all points to this: a soul that longs for God. A heart that says, “Your lovingkindness is better than life.” That's the invitation of summer. Not just to survive the season. But to rediscover what you're longing for. To let the slower pace awaken your heart. To feel the thirst. To take steps toward intimacy. And to taste and see that the Lord is good. Because when you've tasted, when you've known real intimacy with God, you realize: this is what you were made for. This is what satisfies. This is home.

Subject: The Seven BowlsSpeaker or Performer: Pastor Grover ClevelandScripture Passage(s): Revelation 16:1-21Date of Delivery: July 19, 2026The Seven BowlsRevelation 16:1-21 NKJV1 Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, “Go and pour out the bowls of the wrath of God on the earth.”2 So the first went and poured out his bowl upon the earth, and a foul and loathsome sore came upon the men who had the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image.3 Then the second angel poured out his bowl on the sea, and it became blood as of a dead man; and every living creature in the sea died.4 Then the third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs of water, and they became blood. 5 And I heard the angel of the waters saying:“You are righteous, O Lord,The One who is and who was and who is to be,Because You have judged these things.6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets,And You have given them blood to drink. For it is their just due.”7 And I heard another from the altar saying, “Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments.”8 Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and power was given to him to scorch men with fire. 9 And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory.10 Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom became full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues because of the pain. 11 They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and did not repent of their deeds.12 Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the east might be prepared. 13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.15 “Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.”16 And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon.17 Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, “It is done!” 18 And there were noises and thunderings and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth. 19 Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath. 20 Then every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. 21 And great hail from heaven fell upon men, each hailstone about the weight of a talent. Men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, since that plague was exceedingly great.

It's easy to blame yourself when medications like Dupixent, Adbry, or Ebglyss don't work (or work well enough), your doctor says that you've “failed” it and it's time to move on to something else. Very often, no one is asking, "Why wasn't Dupixent able to work in the first place?" which could uncover important clues about your eczema case potentially lurking under the surface.Because YOU didn't fail the drug, and before moving on to something else, this is what you absolutely need to consider.Plus, we'll talk about a little-known warning in the safety information for Dupixent and other IL-13-blocking biologics specifically about parasites. So let's dive into what I've seen in clients prescribed these medications and why what looks like drug failure to their doctor could be an important root cause clue.⭐️Mentioned in This Episode:- See all the references

Before YOU could speak a word, something was already trying to end YOUR story. Not slow it down. End it. And the fact that YOU are here—reading this, breathing, still standing after everything that has tried to take YOU out—is evidence of something most people never stop to consider about their own survival.YOU were protected on purpose. Because YOU were made for more.Exodus 2:1–10 opens in one of the most dangerous seasons in the entire Bible—a moment when everything in the environment was designed to destroy the very thing God had already marked for greatness. And what happened to one particular life in the middle of that danger reveals something about YOUR life that will change the way YOU look at every close call YOU have ever survived. Here is what most people miss—the protection did not look like protection. It looked like abandonment. It looked like being placed in the exact path of the thing that was trying to kill it. What should have been the most vulnerable position possible became the safest place in the story. And the very system built to destroy this life ended up funding it, raising it, and positioning it for the assignment it was born to carry. What tried to bury YOU was never able to.There is a specific detail in this passage about who ended up caring for this child—and where—that is so unexpected, so precisely arranged, that no human being could have orchestrated it. Most people read past it. But when YOU understand what it reveals about how God positions the people He has made for more, YOU will never look at the strange turns of YOUR own life the same way again.YOU are not here by accident. There is also something in these verses about the timing of it all—the exact moment help arrived, the exact place it came from, the exact person who showed up—that reveals how deliberately YOUR steps have been ordered, even in the seasons YOU thought YOU were on YOUR own.Press play—because MADE FOR MORE is not a slogan. It is the reason YOU survived what YOU survived. And this message will show YOU exactly what that protection was always preparing YOU for.

If You're Stuck - Lets Move On - Here's How Episode Overview Ever had that quiet thought… "I've lost my way…" Not shouted out loud. Not dramatic. Just a whisper somewhere in the background. In this episode, I share something personal — a moment where I genuinely felt that. Like the direction had gone. Like something inside me had faded. But here's what I discovered… You're not lost. You haven't lost your way. You've simply lost connection with the part of you that already knows. And when life changes — when you let go of old habits, old roles, even old identities — there's a gap. A space. A kind of emotional "void." And if you don't understand it… it can feel like grief. In this deeper dive, we explore that space — and more importantly, how to reconnect with your inner direction using a simple but powerful process. What You'll Discover This episode gently but powerfully shifts how you think about feeling lost: Why "feeling lost" is actually a sign of growth, not failure How identity is often tied to what you do — and what happens when that changes The hidden mistake: looking outside for direction instead of inside Why your future self already knows the way The key insight: Your path isn't something you find… it's something you feel And most importantly… How to reconnect to that feeling and take your next step with clarity The Big Insight Most people think: "I need a plan." "I need to figure it out." "I need the answer." But what if that's the problem? Because… You don't find your path by thinking — you find it by feeling. Your unconscious mind doesn't work in bullet points and spreadsheets. It works through: Sensation Emotion Intuition And when you reconnect with that… Direction replaces confusion Movement replaces stuckness Certainty replaces doubt The Process: Reconnecting With Your Inner Direction In this episode, I guide you through a gentle but powerful process to: Step away from overthinking Connect with your future self (the one already living your purpose) Feel what that life is like — without needing details Let that feeling become your compass Ask one simple question: "If this is who I am… what's the next small step?" No pressure. No forcing. Just noticing. Because your answers don't shout…  They whisper. Key Takeaways Feeling lost doesn't mean you've lost your way It often means your old identity is dissolving The "void" is not empty — it's space for something new Looking externally keeps you stuck Your future self is already inside you Direction comes from feeling first, action second You don't need the whole plan — just the next step A Simple Reflection Take a moment after listening and ask yourself: What am I trying to replace instead of reconnect with? Where am I looking outside… instead of inside? What does my "best life" feel like — not look like? What's one small step that feeling is nudging me toward? How This Fits the Journey This episode builds directly from: FMQ 533 – Why Are You Stuck? Where we explored the fear of losing identity And leads into: The Missing Part of Success (#480) Where we bring in mind-body alignment and embodiment Because the full journey is: You're not stuck — you're protecting something You're not lost — you're disconnected You don't need more thinking — you need alignment Final Thoughts You don't need to rush this. You don't need to "figure it all out." Because… Your path isn't a destination. It's a direction. And it reveals itself… One step One feeling One moment of awareness at a time Call to Action If this resonated: Hit subscribe so you don't miss what's coming next Share this with someone who might be feeling a little lost right now https://personaldevelopmentunplugged.com/482-if-youre-stuck-lets-move-on-heres-how And most importantly…  Take one small step today Shine Brightly

Starting over again is never easy. It's painful to try again after disappointment, rejection, failure, or exhaustion. Sometimes the hardest moments in life are not when we did nothing, but when we gave everything we had and still came up empty. Yet in Luke 5, Jesus reminds us that our failures are not the end of the story. Simon Peter spent the whole night fishing and caught nothing, but one moment of surrendered obedience changed everything. God can do more in one moment of “Because You say so” faith than we can do in years of anxious striving. Maybe today, God is asking you to trust again, pray again, love again, believe again, and lower the nets one more time. The same place that carried your disappointment may become the very place where you encounter God's abundance. When we sin and feel the weight of it, most of us have one instinctive response: hide. We pull back from God, we feel the shame settle in, and we wonder if we have disappointed Him too deeply this time. But that instinct — as old as Adam and Eve reaching for fig leaves in the garden — is precisely what God's discipline is designed to interrupt. He does not let us drift without consequence because He is indifferent. He disciplines us because He is a good Father who loves us too much to leave us where we are. Hebrews 12:11 is honest about what discipline feels like in the moment — it is sorrowful, not joyful. There is no use pretending otherwise. But the verse does not stop there. It promises that for those who are trained by it, discipline yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness. The discomfort is never the destination; it is the path back to fellowship with the Father, back to sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, back to the image of Christ being formed more fully in us. Our position before God never changes when we sin — we are still His, still covered by the righteousness of Christ, still loved with an unconditional and pursuing love that nothing can stop. But repentance matters, because sin hinders fellowship, and God wants us close. When the Father's correction comes, the wisest and most freeing response is not to run from it, but toward it — and toward Him. Today's Bible Verse "All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness." — Hebrews 12:11, NASB Ponder Today God disciplines those He loves — His correction is not a sign of rejection but of deep, committed love from a Father who refuses to let His children drift without consequence. Hiding from God when we sin only deepens the distance — repentance is not what earns us back His love, but it is what keeps our fellowship with Him open and unhindered. Discipline is uncomfortable by design — but it is always purposeful, working in us the peaceful fruit of righteousness that comfortable seasons cannot produce on their own. Our position before God never changes when we sin — we are still His children, still covered in Christ's righteousness — but sin can make our hearts grow callous and our sensitivity to the Holy Spirit grow dim. Conviction, repentance, and discipline are gifts, not punishments — they are evidence of a Father who loves us too much to leave us where we are and is actively conforming us into the image of His Son. Today's Prayer Heavenly Father, when I sin, my first response is to hide because I feel like I have disappointed You. Help my heart to understand Your great love and mercy toward me — that Christ died so I could be called Your child, and nothing can change that or separate me from Your love. Because You are a good Father, You discipline Your children so we can grow and be transformed into more of Your likeness. When I stray and disobey, make me quick to repent and run to You rather than away from You. Help me receive not only Your great compassion but also Your correction, knowing that both flow from the same perfect love. In Jesus' name, Amen. Enjoy Today's Prayer? He Gets Us#RTTBROS #Nightlight"For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin." — Hebrews 4:15Eric Liddell is one of the most remarkable Christian athletes who ever lived. Most people know him from the film Chariots of Fire, the Scottish sprinter who refused to run on Sunday at the 1924 Paris Olympics because of his convictions, then went on to win gold in a race that wasn't even his specialty. What fewer people know is what happened after the glory days.Liddell went to China as a missionary and was eventually captured by Japanese forces during World War II and interned in a prison camp at Weihsien. He spent his final years not in stadiums, but behind barbed wire, ministering to fellow prisoners, tutoring children, and organizing sports for the internees to keep their spirits alive. He died in that camp in February 1945, just five months before it was liberated. One of the testimonies that came out of that camp afterward was the account of a young man who had been struggling terribly with despair. He went to Liddell and poured out his heart, and Liddell didn't offer him platitudes. He said, "I know what it is to have everything stripped away and to wonder what God is doing." He had lived it. He had run in glory and he had suffered in a prison camp, and because of that, the young man felt genuinely understood. Not just advised. Understood. That is a pale picture of what Jesus offers us in Hebrews 4:15. The writer tells us that our High Priest, Jesus Himself, was touched with the feeling of our infirmities. He was tempted in all points as we are. He knew hunger, exhaustion, grief, betrayal, loneliness, and physical agony. He wept at a graveside. He sweat drops of blood in a garden. He cried out from a cross. When you bring your pain to Jesus, you are not bringing it to someone who has only read about suffering in a book. You are bringing it to the One who entered into the full weight of human experience and carried it without sin. He is not a distant God who looks down from a comfortable heaven and offers you theological explanations. He is a Savior who says, "I know. I have been there. Come to me."Whatever you are carrying tonight, He understands it at a depth no one else can reach.Let's pray: Lord Jesus, thank You for not staying at a distance. Thank You for entering into our pain, our temptation, our sorrow. Because You understand, we can come boldly to You tonight with everything we are carrying. MY Devotional: Daily Encouragement from Leading The Way

Deep in the Arabian Desert, a small fortress once served as a place of safety for Lawrence of Arabia. When stronger forces attacked, he would retreat behind its walls—finding protection, provision, and renewed strength. Dr. Michael Youssef uses this vivid picture to remind believers of an even greater refuge: prayer. In today's episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, you'll hear why prayer is not a last resort, but a secure stronghold available day or night. In God's presence, His strength becomes your strength—and His protection steadies your heart when the world feels unstable. Dr. Youssef points to Jesus' promise that when believers gather in His name, He is with them, and that heaven moves as God's people pray in agreement (Matthew 18:18–20). When deception, anxiety, or spiritual pressure crowds your mind, this devotional calls you to turn immediately to Christ—asking Him to surround you with protection, clarify your thinking, and supply the strength you need to persevere. God's fortress doesn't crumble, His power doesn't weaken, and His deliverance is sure for those who call on Him. Prayer: Lord, thank You for providing me with the safety of Your strength, power, and salvation. Because You've set up Your Kingdom in my heart, I call on Your power to defeat feelings of fear, doubt, and confusion. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. Scripture Focus: “Call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me” (Psalm 50:15). Learn more in Dr. Michael A. Youssef's sermon Pray or Faint: LISTEN NOW The voice you hear on the MY Devotional podcast is digitally generated with Dr. Youssef's permission. Taste and See that the Lord is Good UOL Retreat in Philadelphia PA on 3/28/2026 In this episode, we look at how the Church's pre- and post-Communion prayers prepare us not just to receive the Eucharist, but to be changed by it. They help us see our need, turn us toward God, and then teach us how to carry His presence into daily life. Communion becomes not just something we receive, but something we learn to live. --- PRE-COMMUNION PRAYERS (UOC-USA PRAYER BOOK) Through the prayers of our Holy Fathers, Lord Jesus Christ, our God, have mercy on us. Glory to You, our God, glory to You. Prayer to the Holy Spirit О Heavenly King, the Comforter, Spirit of Truth, everywhere present and filling all things. Treasury of Blessings and Giver of Life, come and dwell in us, cleanse us from every impurity and save our souls, O Good One. Thrice-Holy Hymn Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us. (3 times) Small Doxology Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever and to the ages of ages. Amen. Prayer to the Holy Trinity All-Holy Trinity, have mercy on us. Lord, cleanse us from our sins. Master, pardon our transgressions. Holy One, visit us and heal our infirmities for Your Name's sake. Lord, have mercy. (3 times) Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever and to the ages of ages. Amen. The Lord's Prayer Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our Daily Bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the Evil One. For Thine is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory, of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, now and ever and to the ages of ages. Amen. Lord, have mercy. (3 times) Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever and to the ages of ages. Amen. Invocation to Jesus Christ Come, let us worship God, our King. Come, let us worship and bow down before Christ our King and our God. Come, let us worship and bow down before Christ Himself, our King and our God. Psalm 22 The Lord is my Shepherd. I shall not want. He settles me in a place of green grass; beside restful water He leads me. He restores my soul; He guides me on the paths of righteousness for His Name's sake. For even if I walk in the midst of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil because You are with me. Your rod and Your staff comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil and my cup overflows. Behold, Your mercy will follow me all the days of my life and I will live in the house of the Lord for the length of my days. Psalm 23 The earth is the Lord's and all its fullness, the world and all who live in it. For He has founded it above the seas and prepared it above the waters. Who will ascend into the mountain of the Lord and who will stand in His holy place? One whose hands are harmless and whose heart is pure, who has not received his soul in vain and has not sworn deceitfully to his neighbor. He will receive blessing from the Lord and mercy from God his Savior. This is the kind who seek the Lord, who seek the Face of the God of Jacob. Lift up your gates, you rulers and be lifted up, you eternal doors and the King of Glory will come in. Who is this King of Glory? The Lord of Hosts, He is the King of Glory. Psalm 115 I kept my Faith even when I said I am greatly afflicted. I said in my amazement: "Every person is a liar!" What shall I give to the Lord for all that He has given me? I will take the cup of salvation and call upon the Name of the Lord. I will pay my vows to the Lord, in the presence of all His people. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. Lord, I am Your servant – and the child of Your handmaiden. You have burst my bonds apart. I will offer to You the sacrifice of praise and I will call upon the Name of the Lord. I will pay my vows to the Lord in the presence of all His people, in the courts of the house of the Lord, in your midst, Jerusalem. Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever and to the ages of ages. Amen. Alleluia, alleluiа, alleluia, glory to You, our God. (3 times) Tropar, Tone 8 Lord, born of a Virgin, overlook my faults, purify my heart and make it a temple for Your Spotless Body and Blood. Cast me not from Your presence for You have infinitely great mercy. Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit; How can I who am unworthy, dare to come to the Communion of Your Holy Things? For even if I should dare to approach You with those who are worthy, my garment betrays me, for it is not a festal robe and I shall bring about the condemnation of my sinful soul. Lord, Lover of mankind, cleanse the pollution from my soul and save me. Now and ever and to the ages of ages. Amen.Great is the multitude of my sins, Birth-Giver of God. To you, Pure One, I flee and implore salvation. Visit my sick and feeble soul and intercede with Your Son and our God, that He may grant me remission of my sins, for You alone are blessed. First Prayer – Saint Basil the Great Lord and Master, Jesus Christ our God, Wellspring of Life and Immortality, Maker of every visible and invisible thing, Co-eternal and Co-everlasting Son of the Everlasting Father: in the abundance of Your Goodness, You were incarnate in these latter times, and crucified and buried for us ungrateful and graceless people. Through Your own Blood You have renewed our nature corrupted by sin. Immortal King, though I am a sinner, accept my repentance, incline Your Ear to me and hearken to my words. I have sinned before heaven and before Your Countenance and I am not worthy to gaze upon the immensity of Your Glory. For I have provoked Your Goodness, I have transgressed Your commandments and I have not obeyed Your ordinances. But, Lord, since You do not remember evil, but are long suffering and have great mercy, You have not given me over to destruction for my lawlessness, but have continually awaited my conversion. For You, Lover of Mankind have said through Your prophet, "I desire not the death of sinners, but that they may turn from their evil ways and live." Because You do not wish, Master, that the work of Your Hands should perish, neither, do You take pleasure in the destruction of humanity. Rather, You desire that all people should be saved and come to a knowledge of the Truth. Therefore, even I, though I am unworthy of heaven, earth and of this transitory life, having given myself completely to sin becoming a slave to pleasure and defiling Your Image – yet being Your creation – I despair not of my salvation in my wretchedness. But, emboldened by Your infinite Compassion, I draw near. Therefore, Loving Christ, receive me also as You received the harlot, the thief, the publican and the prodigal. Take away the heavy burden of my sins, You Who take away the sins of the world, Who heal all human infirmity, Who call to Yourself those who are weary and heavy-laden, granting them rest. You came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Cleanse me from every stain of flesh and spirit and teach me to achieve perfect holiness in fear of You, that receiving my share of Your sacred things, I may be united to Your Holy Body and Blood and may have You dwell and abide in me with the Father and Your Holy Spirit. Yes, Lord Jesus Christ, my God, may the partaking of Your Most Pure and Life-Giving Mysteries bring me not to condemnation, nor may I partake unworthily of them. Grant that I, even to my final breath, may receive my share of Your sacred things without condemnation and thereby receive communion with the Holy Spirit as a provision for the journey to eternal life and an acceptable defense before Your Dread Judgment Seat. Lord, grant that I, together with all Your elect, may also be a partaker of immaculate good things which You have prepared for those who love You, with whom You abide and are glorified to the ages. Amen. Second Prayer — Saint John Chrysostom Lord my God, I know that I am not sufficiently worthy that You should come under the roof of the house of my soul, for it is entirely desolate and fallen in ruin and You cannot find in me a worthy place for Your head. But, as You humbled Yourself from on high for our sake, humble Yourself not to the measure of my lowliness. As You took it upon Yourself in the cave to lie in the manger for dumb animals, so take it upon Yourself now to enter into the manger of my ignorant soul and into my defiled body. Since You did not disdain to enter and eat with sinners in the house of Simon the Leper, so take it upon Yourself to likewise enter also into the house of my humble, leprous and sinful soul. As You did not cast out the harlot, a sinner much like me, who came and touched You, so have compassion on me, a sinner, coming to touch You. Since You did not detest the kiss of her sin-stained and unclean mouth, detest not my mouth, which is stained even worse and more unclean than hers as well as my sordid, unclean and shameless lips, nor my even more unclean tongue. Let the fiery coal of Your Most Pure Body and of Your Precious Blood bring me the sanctification, enlightenment and strengthening of my humble soul and body, a relief from the burden of my many transgressions, protection against every operation of the Devil, an aversion and hindrance of my base and evil habits, a mortification of my passions, an accomplishment of your Commandments, an increase in Your divine Grace and an entrance into Your Kingdom. For I do not come to You, Christ my God, in presumption, but having been given full confidence by Your Ineffable Goodness, I approach, lest I stray far from Your communion and become the prey of the wolf of souls. Therefore, I pray, Master Who alone are Holy; sanctify both my soul and body, my mind and heart and my emotions and affections. Renew me entirely, implant Your Fear in my members and make Your sanctification indelible within me. Be my helper and foundation, govern my life in peace and make me worthy to stand at your right hand with Your saints. Through the prayers of Your Most Pure Mother, the pure and immaterial Powers that always serve You and of all the saints who have been well pleasing to You from the ages. Amen. Third Prayer – Saint Simeon the Translator Only Pure and Spotless Lord, Jesus Christ, Wisdom of God, Peace and Power: moved by Your ineffable mercy and love for all mankind, You took up our whole nature from the chaste and virginal blood of the one who wondrously conceived You through the coming of the Holy Spirit and by the favor of Your Eternal Father. In that nature you took it upon Yourself to undergo Your life-giving and saving Passion – the cross, the nails, the spear and death itself. Mortify in me the soul-destroying passions of the body. As you despoiled the dominion of Hades in the tomb, bury in me the spirit of evil. You raised fallen Adam through Your life-bearing Resurrection - so raise me for I am immersed in sin and counsel me in the ways of repentance. You made divine the flesh You assumed and honored it on Your Throne at the Right Hand of the Father in Your Glorious Ascension. By the communion of Your Holy Mysteries make me worthy of a place at Your Right Hand with the saved. You made Your sacred disciples precious vessels by the coming of the Comforter, the Spirit – confirm me also to be a receptacle of His Coming. You promised to come again to judge the world in righteousness – grant that I shall go to meet You in the clouds with all Your saints. For You have made and formed me that I may unceasingly praise and chant hymns to You with Your Eternal Father and Your All-Holy, Good and Life-Creating Spirit, now and ever and to the ages of ages. Amen. Fourth Prayer – Saint Simeon the Translator Christ my God, as though standing before Your Dread Judgment Seat which does not regard personalities awaiting judgment and rendering an account of the evils I have committed: so today before the day of my condemnation appears, I stand before Your Holy Altar in Your Sight and in the Sight of Your awesome and holy angels. Bowed low by my own conscience, I offer my wicked and lawless actions, triumphing over them by declaring them. Lord, I know my iniquities have increased beyond the number of hairs on my head. The multitude of Your loving kindness is immeasurable and the mercy of Your Goodness and Forbearance beyond description and there is no sin which overcomes Your love for all mankind. Therefore, all marvelous King and merciful Lord, cause Your wondrous mercy to touch even me, a sinner. Receive me, a sinner, as I return to You, as You received the prodigal, the thief and the harlot. As You received those who came at the eleventh hour unworthily, so receive me also, a sinner. I know that You will set these sins I have committed before me and require an accounting of the sins which I have knowingly and unpardonably committed, but neither convict me with fitting judgment, nor chastise me in Your Anger. Lord have mercy on me for though I am weak, I am also the work of Your Hands. You have granted me to revere You, Lord, but I have done evil in Your Sight. Against You only have I sinned, but I beg You, Lord, judge not Your servant for if You will severely mark iniquity, who will survive it? For I am in a sea of sin and am neither worthy nor sufficient to behold and gaze upon the height of heaven for the multitude of my innumerable sins. Who will raise me up? Who has fallen into such evils and transgressions? Lord God, in You have I hoped. Have mercy on me, God, according to Your great mercy and do not reward me, as my deeds deserve. Rather convert, uphold and deliver my soul from the evils implanted in it and from fearsome designs. I will praise and glorify You all the days of my life. For You are the God of those who repent and we glorify You with Your Father without beginning and Your All Holy, Good and Life-Creating Spirit, now and ever and to the ages of ages. Amen. Fifth Prayer – Saint John of Damascus Lord and Master Jesus Christ our God, You alone have the power to absolve sin. Because You are Good and love all mankind, forgive all my iniquities committed in knowledge or in ignorance. Make me worthy to partake without condemnation of Your divine, glorious, pure and life creating Mysteries, that I may incur neither punishment nor an increase in my sins, but receive cleansing, sanctification, a pledge of the Life and the Kingdom to come, protection, an aid, a turning aside of my adversaries and the blotting out of my many transgressions. For You are a God of Mercy, Loving Kindness and Love for all mankind and we glorify You Father, Son and Holy Spirit, now and ever and to the ages of ages. Amen. Sixth Prayer – Saint Basil the Great Lord, I know that I partake unworthily of Your Pure Body and Your Precious Blood, my Christ and my God. Yet emboldened by Your Loving Kindness I come to You for You have said, "Those who eat My Flesh and drink My Blood abide in Me and I in them." Therefore, be merciful, Lord and do not rebuke me, a sinner, but deal with me according to Your mercy. And let these Holy Things afford me healing, cleansing, enlightenment, protection, sanctification of soul and body, the averting of every fantasy, evil practice and operation of the devil which works within me. Let them give me confidence and love for You, amendment of life and perseverance, an increase in perfection and virtue, the fulfillment of Your Commandments, communion of the Holy Spirit and a provision for the journey to eternal life and an acceptable answer at Your Dread Judgment Seat, but neither for judgment nor condemnation. Amen. Seventh Prayer - Saint Symeon the New Theologian From lips besmirched and heart impure, from unclean tongue and sin stained soul, receive my pleas, my Christ. Neither overlook my words, my way of speech, nor my annoyingly persistent cry. Grant me the boldness to express all the things for which I long, my Christ, and teach me all that it is fitting for me to do and say. More than the harlot have I sinned. When she learned where You were visiting she brought myrrh, boldly came there and anointed Your Feet. As You, Divine Word, did not cast her out when she came in eagerness of heart, detest me not. Rather give me Your Feet, I pray, for my embrace and my kiss. With the torrent of my tears, as with an ointment of great price, let me dare to anoint them. Purify me, O Word, in my own tears and cleanse me with them. Forgive my errors; grant pardon, for You know the multitude of my sins. You also know the wounds I bear. You see the bruises of my soul. Yet You know my faith, You see my eager heart and hear my sighs. From You, my God, Creator and Redeemer, not one tear is hidden, nor even part of one. Your Eyes know my imperfection, for in Your Book are found those things which are yet unfashioned. Behold my lowliness; behold how great is my weariness. Then God of the entire world, grant me release from all my sins, that with a clean heart and conscience filled with holy fear and a contrite soul, I may partake of Your most pure and spotless Mysteries. The one who eats and drinks with a pure heart has life and divinity. For You have said, my Master, that "those who eat of My Flesh and drink of My Blood do indeed abide in Me and I am likewise found in them." My Master and my God, this saying of Christ is completely true. For one who shares in these Divine and Deifying Graces is not alone, but is with You, Christ, the Triple Radiant Light Who enlightens the whole world. You see that for this I have drawn near to You with tears and contrite soul. Thus, I dare to hope in Your good deeds for us, I partake – both rejoicing and trembling – for I am but grass in fire and behold, a strange wonder! I am refreshed with dew, beyond all words, just as in ancient times the bush burning with fire was not consumed. Therefore, thankful in mind and heart, thankful with all my body and all my soul I worship You, magnify and glorify You, my God for You are blessed both now and to all the ages. Amen. Eighth Prayer - Saint John Chrysostom Lord Jesus Christ, my God, absolve, remit, forgive and pardon me, of all the errors, transgressions and trespasses which I have committed before You – whether in knowledge or in ignorance, in words, deeds, thoughts or intentions. Through the intercession of Your All-Pure Mother, Your heavenly hosts and all the saints, who through the ages have been faithful to You, count me worthy to partake without condemnation of Your Holy and Precious Body and Blood for the healing of both soul and body and for the elimination and the cleansing of my evil thoughts. For Yours is the Kingdom, the Power, the Glory, the Honor and the Worship of the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and to the ages of ages. Amen. Ninth Prayer – Saint John of Damascus I stand before the doors of Your temple and I refrain not from evil thoughts. But You, Christ my God, justified the tax collector: You showed mercy to the woman of Canaan and opened the Gates of Paradise to the Thief. Open to me the depths of Your love for all mankind and receive me as I draw near and touch You, even as You did the harlot and the woman with the issue of blood. The latter merely touched the hem of Your garment and immediately received healing and the former, clinging to Your Pure Feet, obtained the release from her sins. But, I in my pitiful state, dare to receive Your Whole Body. May I not be consumed, but receive me even as You received those others and enlighten the feelings of my soul, cleansing my sins; through the prayers of the one who gave You birth without seed and of the heavenly powers, for You are blessed to the ages of ages. Amen. POST-COMMUNION PRAYERS (UOC-USA PRAYER BOOK) Glory to You, O God! (3 times) Lord my God, I thank You that You have not rejected me, a sinner, but have allowed me to be a partaker of Your Holy Things.  I thank You that You have permitted me, though unworthy, to have a share in Your Most Pure and Heavenly Gifts. Master and Lover of Mankind, Who for our sake died and rose again and gave us these Awe-inspiring and Life-giving Mysteries for the benefit and sanctification of our souls and bodies: let these Gifts be for the healing of my own soul and body, for the averting of every adversary, the illumination of the eyes of my heart, the peace of my spiritual powers, an unashamed faith, an unfeigned love, the realizing of wisdom, the observance of Your Commandments, the receiving of Your Divine Grace and the inheritance of Your Kingdom. Preserved by them in Your holiness, may I always be mindful of Your Grace, no longer living for myself, but for You, our Master and Benefactor.  May I then pass from this life in the hope of Eternal Life and attain to the Everlasting Rest where the voice of those who feast is unceasing and the unending delight of those who behold the beauty of Your Face is inexpressible. For You, Christ our God, are truly the ineffable joy and desire of all those who love You and all creation sings Your praise to the ages of ages. Amen. Second Prayer following Communion By Saint Basil the Great I thank You, Christ, Master and God, King of the Ages and Maker of All Things, for all the Good Gifts You have given me and especially for the participation in Your Most Pure and Life-creating Mysteries. Therefore, I pray, Gracious Lord, Who loves all mankind, that You preserve me under Your protection and beneath the shadow of Your Wings. Grant that even to my final breath, I may partake worthily and with a pure conscience of Your Holy Things for the remission of my sins and for Eternal Life. For You are the Bread of Life, the Wellspring of Holiness, the Giver of all Good and we glorify You, together with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and to the ages of ages. Amen. Third Prayer following Communion By Saint Simeon the Translator You Who willingly give Your Flesh to me as Food, Who are a Fire burning the unworthy; let me not be consumed, my Creator. Rather, enter into all my members – my joints, my inner being and my heart. Burn the thorns of my iniquities. Purify my soul and sanctify my reasoning.  Strengthen my joints and bones. Enlighten my five senses. Bind me completely with reverence for You. Always shelter, guard and keep me from every soul-corrupting word and deed. Cleanse, purify and harmonize my being. Beautify me, grant me understanding and enlighten me. Show me to be the Habitation of Your One Holy Spirit and no longer the abode of sin, that having become Your Dwelling Place because of the Communion of Your Holy Mysteries, every evil deed and passion may flee from me as from fire. As intercessors, I bring all the Saints: the leaders of the Bodiless Hosts, Your Forerunner, the Most Wise Apostles and with them, Your undefiled, Most-pure Mother. Accept their prayers Christ, my Merciful One and make me a Child of Light. For You, Good One, are the only Sanctification and Enlightenment of our souls and to You, as God and Master, we worthily render glory day by day. Amen. Fourth Prayer following Communion May Your Holy Body, Lord Jesus Christ our God, be for me Life Eternal and Your Precious Blood for the remission of my sins. May this Eucharist grant me joy, health and gladness. At Your Dread Second Coming make me, a sinner, worthy to stand at the Right Hand of Your Glory, through the intercessions of Your All-pure Mother and of all Your saints. Fifth Prayer following Communion To the Birth-Giver of God All Holy Lady, Birth-Giver of God, light of my darkened soul – my hope, my shelter and refuge, my consolation and joy; I thank you for accepting me, the unworthy one, as a communicant of the Most-pure Body and Precious Blood of your Son. In that you gave birth to the True Light, enlighten the intellectual eyes of my heart. As the one who carried the Fountain of Immortality in your womb, enliven me, slain by sin. Merciful Mother of the Most-merciful God, full of loving kindness, have mercy on me, grant me contrition and compunction of heart, humility in my thoughts, and the ability to recall my reasoning from its captivity. Make me worthy, until my final breath, to receive the sanctification of the Most Pure Mysteries without condemnation, for healing of soul and body. Grant me tears of repentance and confession, that I may chant hymns and glorify You all the days of my life, for blessed and glorified are You to the ages. Amen. Master, now let Your servant depart in peace, according to Your word; for my eyes have seen Your salvation, which You have prepared in the presence of all people, a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to Your people Israel. Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us. (3 times) Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever and to the ages of ages. Amen. All-Holy Trinity, have mercy on us. Amen. Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our Daily Bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the Evil One. For Yours is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, now and ever and to the ages of ages. Amen. Depending upon which Liturgy was celebrated, one of the following Tropars and Kondaks are said.Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom Tropar, Tone 8 Grace shining forth from your mouth like a beacon has enlightened the universe, disclosing to the world treasures of generosity and showing us the heights of humility.  Since you instruct us by your words, Father John Chrysostom, intercede with Christ God, the Word Himself, to save our souls. Perfect Is Dead: Why Your Flaws Are Your Creative Advantage

Hey friends, Chase here Let's talk about something that might feel uncomfortable at first — especially if you've spent years trying to get better, sharper, more polished, more "professional." Perfection is dead. Not metaphorically. Not eventually. I mean right now. And if you're paying attention to what's happening in the creative world — especially in an era of AI, automation, and endless content — you're starting to feel it too. The things that used to signal quality… now feel generic. The things that used to impress… now barely register. And the things we used to hide — the rough edges, the quirks, the imperfections — are quickly becoming the only things that actually stand out. This episode is about why your flaws — the very things you've been trying to smooth out — might actually be your greatest creative advantage. The Shift: Why Perfect Doesn't Work Anymore We are living in a moment where perfect is easy. AI can generate flawless images. Software can smooth every imperfection. Templates can make anything look "professional." And that's exactly the problem. Because when everything is polished… everything starts to look the same. Even the platforms themselves are saying it out loud now: authenticity is becoming scarce — and therefore more valuable than ever. :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0} That means the bar has shifted. It's no longer: "Can you make something good?" It's: "Can you make something only you could make?" The Biology Behind Why Imperfection Wins This isn't just a creative opinion — it's biology. Your brain is wired to ignore predictable patterns and notice disruptions. A perfectly uniform image? Your brain tunes it out. A slightly off note. A crack in a voice. A strange framing choice. A human moment that feels a little too real. That's what grabs attention. Because deep down, your brain is constantly scanning for something unexpected — something that might matter. Perfect is predictable. Imperfect is alive. The Trap: Safe + Skilled = Invisible Here's where a lot of creators get stuck. You develop skills. You learn the tools. You refine your process. And then… you start playing it safe. You aim for clean. You aim for polished. You aim for "what works." And without realizing it, you drift into something dangerous: You become technically good… but creatively forgettable. Because: You + safe choices + powerful tools = something that looks like everything else. The Core Idea Your imperfections are not flaws to eliminate — they are signals to amplify. Think about what we love: Film grain in photography Light leaks in old cameras Vinyl crackle in music A live performance that almost falls apart A handwritten line that isn't quite straight These aren't mistakes. They're evidence of humanity. And in a world that is increasingly synthetic, that evidence is everything. What You'll Hear in This Episode This episode is a fast one, but it hits deep. Listen for: Why perfection is becoming a liability in the age of AI How your brain is wired to prefer imperfection over polish Why "safe" creative choices lead to invisible work The difference between sloppy and intentional imperfection How to use your uniqueness as a creative advantage Timecodes (So You Can Jump to What You Need) 02:00 – Why polished, perfect work is losing relevance 03:24 – Authenticity as a scarce and valuable resource 05:08 – The neuroscience of why imperfection grabs attention 06:30 – Deliberate imperfection as a creative strategy 07:24 – Why being human is your biggest advantage 08:28 – Why "who you are" matters more than "what you make" Read This If You're Trying to Get It "Just Right" If you've been stuck tweaking, refining, polishing… Trying to make something perfect before you share it… Here's the reframe: The goal is not perfection. The goal is presence. Because perfection is something machines can fake. But presence — your perspective, your quirks, your lived experience — that's something no system can replicate. Questions to Ask Yourself If you want to apply this today, sit with these: Where am I over-polishing something that doesn't need it? What parts of my work feel the most "me" — and am I hiding them? Am I optimizing for approval instead of expression? What would I create if I stopped trying to make it perfect? What's one imperfection I could lean into instead of fix? A Simple Practice for Leaning Into Imperfection Try this: Pick one project this week. Remove one layer of polish. (Less editing, fewer filters, fewer constraints.) Leave something raw. A moment, a thought, a texture. Ship it anyway. Not because it's finished. But because it's real. Final Thought In a world where anything can be generated, replicated, or perfected… Your humanity is the differentiator. Your uneven lines. Your strange ideas. Your awkward delivery. Your lived experience. That's not noise. That's the signal. Perfect is dead. Long live your flaws. Until next time: stay curious, stay honest, and don't polish the life out of your work.

March 7, 2026Today's Reading: Introit for Lent 3 - Psalm 25:1-2, 17-18, 20; antiphon: Psalm 25:15-16Daily Lectionary: Genesis 27:1-29; Mark 8:22-38“To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul.” (Psalm 25:1) In the Name + of Jesus. Amen. O Lord, to You I lift up my soul. I trust in You. Yes, my life rests on You, for You are the unshakable foundation. That's what my Baptism tells me. I have been put into You, my Mighty Fortress. Sin, Death, and Satan can't crush and hush me for You have overcome these enemies by Your bleeding, dying, third-day rising. I believe this, O Lord, and yet I struggle. There are days I look around and my eyes get the best of me. It can look like Sin, Death, and Satan are in charge. O Lord, I know this is not true. You are Lord over all! Therefore, help me to walk by faith and not by sight. Open the eyes of my heart to see You as my deliverer. I'm helpless to save myself, after all, but I am not hopeless. You are my hope. This is not wishful thinking but a sure confidence that You will come through for me in Your way and Your time.  I feel alone some days, but Your promise is that You are with me always. Your promises can't fail. They will never lead me astray. You tell the truth, for You are the Truth. There's no reason, therefore, for me to ignore what I'm going through or try to cover it up with a smiley face. I can be honest since nothing can surprise You. There are troubles in my life that I can't get myself out of. Troubles that I am responsible for and those that have been brought into my life by others. These troubles teach me that I'm not in control. I ask You to consider all the sufferings and troubles I have, and please forgive me. Cover my sins with Your righteousness. Cleanse me with Your blood. Every part of my life, You have redeemed with Your blood, and I will on the Last Day get to see how You used it all for my good. I won't be able to stop smiling!       Now I wait. It's not always easy with all the pains and problems in this life. So please, Lord, guard my heart from the attacks of Satan, who wants me to give in, give up, and give out. The Cross is my reminder that You can and will deliver me from all my fears and tears. You did not stay dead but rose on Easter Morning, securing for me my own Easter Morning on the Last Day! Because You are my refuge, I can't be shaken. Nothing and no one can destroy me. I trust in You and will not be put to shame. O Lord, to You I lift up my soul.     In the Name + of Jesus. Amen. While I am a pilgrim here, Let Thy love my spirit cheer; As my guide, my guard, my friend, Lead me to my journey's end. (LSB 779:5)Rev. Aaron Schian is pastor at Grace Lutheran Church in Auburn, MI.Audio Reflections Speaker: Rev. Richard Heinz, pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowell, IN.We wander through life looking for freedom, only to realize we have listened to the devil's call to serve our selves, our pleasures, and our lusts. Instead of freedom we find ourselves enslaved to sin. We wonder if we have sinned too often, too deep to ever be welcomed back to the Father's home, back into His loving embrace. Have we lost our inheritance as children of God?In this short book, author Bryan Wolfmueller digs into the popular parable of the Prodigal Son to bring hope and aid to our hurting conscience. Wolfmueller proclaims the freedom-giving Gospel that through Jesus' suffering, death, and resurrection, our place in the Father's house is secure, and forgiveness and welcome are ours in His outstretched arms. Fully Free, now available from CPH.

Several times in the Bible, we read that what is impossible for man is possible for God. What does this mean in various settings? Is making the impossible possible a matter of faith? Character? God's power? What might be dangerous about the possibility for humans? How can we understand and fully live within the boundaries of the possible while stretching to experience God's power in the impossible?Receive When life feels uncertain, it helps to remember who God truly is and that the Bible says repeatedly that nothing is too hard for God. But... the Scriptures also tell us there are things God cannot do—He cannot do evil, He cannot lie, and He cannot be overcome by death. That means His character is completely trustworthy. When we face fear, confusion, or disappointment, we can rely on His goodness, believe His promises, and trust that nothing—not even death—has the final word. Reflect Read the verses connected with this episode below. Warrior woman — if you're training consistently, eating “pretty well,” doing the steps, doing the protein… and your bod still isn't shifting the way you expected — this episode is for you girl. Because this isn't an age problem. It's not a hormones problem. And it's definitely not a motivation problem. It's a strategy and sequence problem. Body composition is an adaptation. And adaptations have prerequisites. Most women were taught the what… but not the when, the why, or the context. So you end up executing “the right things” inside a system that can't support the outcome you're asking for. In this episode, I'm teaching you how to think like a strategist:strategy → systems → sequencing — and why your bod adapts when the inputs finally make sense in the right order. What You'll Learn in This Episode If you've been stuck in that loop of “I'm doing everything… why isn't this working?” we're unpacking: What strategy actually is (and why it's not just a plan) Why your body responds to context not effort The difference between a goal and a strategy The “Warrior System Stack”: the 4 layers you can't skip if you want results Why you're chasing the outcome your system isn't ready to support How to find the one system that's currently limiting your progress What to do next if you want body recomposition (without forcing it) Key Takeaways (Strategy, Systems + Sequencing) 1) Body composition is an adaptation — and adaptations require prerequisites 2) You were taught the what**… not the** order 3) Your strategy fails when it ignores the system you're operating inside 4) The Warrior System Stack Layer 1: Nervous system (safety, capacity, resiliency) Layer 2: Metabolic system (energy availability, consistency) Layer 3: Mechanical system (movement, load tolerance, joints/tissues) Layer 4: Adaptation (intensity + expression — where body comp happens) 5) Sequence beats intensity 6) If nothing is changing, it's not because your body is stubborn — it's because she's intelligent 7) Ask these 3 questions to find your next move Which system is limiting me right now? (nervous / metabolic / mechanical) Am I trying to force an adaptation I haven't prepared for? What's the next stabilizing action I can repeat for 30 days? Powerful Quotes “Your body doesn't respond to effort alone. She responds to context — to systems — to order.” “This is not an age problem. This is not a hormone problem. It's a strategy and sequence problem.” “Body recomposition is an adaptation — and adaptations require prerequisites.” “You're doing a lot of the right things… but in the wrong era of your body and your life.” “If you skip the order, your body doesn't adapt — not because she's stubborn, but because she's intelligent.” BUILD THE BODY YOU LOVE TRAINING ASSESSMENT WORKSHOP If you want to build a body you love… you have to know where you're actually at. Girl… you're doing so many of the right things. The lifting, the walking, the fuelling — you're trying. But if you don't know where you're actually at in your training — what's working, what's missing, what your body needs right now — it's almost impossible to move forward. That's why I'm hosting a small, private workshop on JAN 30th We're going to slow everything down and look at your training clearly so you finally know what to focus on — and why. This workshop gives you a proven pathway and the exact next steps you need to finally move forward — now and in the next six months. Jase describes a creepy encounter that put him on edge when he thought he was alone in the woods and unveils a bizarre but strangely fitting analogy about handheld vacuums and mortality. Honoring Phil with an opening-day hunt leads the guys into a conversation about death, the physical reality of our bodies breaking down, and the haunting mystery of what becomes of our souls. The study of John 19 brings them to Jesus' burial, the stark imagery of New Orleans tombs, and the eerie stillness of the grave before the stone rolled away. The guys explore how the empty tomb and the launch of the new creation reshape our understanding of earthly death—and what truly happens next. Because You're Not Beginning Where Manifesting BeginsManifesting always begins with the power of possibility. If you try to begin anywhere else,You're not manifesting. And odds are - you're going “mental”.   Most people try to make mind movies that take minutes. But their attention span? About 18 seconds. So they end up daydreaming instead of creating.Neville Goddard said:“The twinkle of an eye.”“The moment you feel a desire…”“That's when you move into its assumption.”Not 10 minutes later. Not after your meditation music. Not after clearing your chakras.Transformation happens in an instant.I can look at someone and feel that…They're full of shit. And guess what? They respond - instantly.Their body.Their emotions.Their mind. They respond to my imaginal act.“They are full of shit.”But if I take it one step further...I remember the Disciple of John from https://JoinRemarkable.comThe disciple of John helps us notice…They're just lost love. They forgot who they are. They forgot to listen with love.So they talk shit…Because they feel - like shit.So I imagine lovingly for them. And they shift- instantly.“Man's faith in God is measured by his confidence in himself.” -  Neville GoddardOne Sip Simple. This is how we teach imagining. The Missing Masterkeys to REALLY feeling it real. You stop seeking solutions - your mind - loves - seeking solutions.Your soul wants to see from - love - and bring beauty into the world.Because you are how God has the adventure of a lifetime. The spirit that you are — the life-giving spirit…The soul you bring to the room…Wants to see from a state. But your humanity? It gets hooked on stories.Hooked on fixing.Hooked on proving.Hooked on arguing. When you are Mental….Take a walk.Beacause you can only walk in one direction at a time. This will focus you - in one direction if…While you walk, you…Imagine lovingly. For the people you pass. For the people who pop into your mind.Don't try to figure out what to imagine.Don't try to do it “right.”Do you see an old couple?I imagine them holding hands.Do you pass a puppy?I imagine it wiggly waggly. You see a little girl?I imagine her riding ponies or playing with posies. I don't try to figure it out.I just notice what pops in and…I give it life. And I move on.That's how you stop being mental.  And that's how you discover the state of…I am the blessing!Kung Fu King & Dev's QuestionMy buddy Dev last night dove into Identity-Based Manifesting. He asks:“How do I find my Kung Fu King?”Let's nail this down:Most people try to fix their pain.Financial pain.Emotional pain.Physical pain.Pain, pain, pain. They're chasing relief.Trying to escape cortisol. But Neville teaches in The Four Mighty Ones:It begins with a possibility.“Wouldn't it be cool…”Wouldn't it be cool to do Kung Fu again like I did in my 30s?Boom. That's identity.  The Kung Fu King!Once identity shows up?The Four Happy Chemicals flood your system.

You 3.0 – Breaking Free from the Illusion of Comfort - Spotting and Capturing Windows of Opportunity There are moments in life when the atmosphere shifts—when a diagnosis, a breakup, a failure, or even a quiet reflection stares you down with a choice: stay the same or step into something radically new. I call these moments windows of opportunity—temporary portals that invite you to rise into a version of yourself you've never met before. In this episode, I share what I've learned about spotting these windows, what it takes to move through them before they close, and why You 3.0 is not just an upgrade—it's a rebirth. Drawing on my own health journey and the wisdom of mentors like Dr. Pat Gentempo, I unpack the three phases of seizing a window: The Spark of Opportunity – when motivation feels high and the timing seems perfect (but won't last). The Crux of Commitment – the struggle point where most quit, but where transformation truly begins. Integration – the moment extraordinary habits fuse into identity, and the new you becomes non-negotiable. Along the way, we'll expose the “Little Liar” that whispers excuses, explore why comfort is the most seductive trap, and reflect on what it really takes to push past survival mode (You 1.0) and even beyond the illusion of “good enough” (You 2.0). Because You 3.0 isn't a goal. It's a place you've never been—a new identity forged in decision, follow-through, and the courage to step through the window before it shuts. Dragon Thoughts: Windows of opportunity aren't random. They're tests. They don't ask if you want change—they demand to know if you're ready to become it. Make Sense?
