Welcome to episode 4! In this episode, Mama Bear Landon Starbuck joins us to talk about the war on children and the urgent need to rise up and join the parenting revolution. The War on Children - a Documentary and a Battle Cry Landon and her husband Robby Starbuck produced the impactful film "The War On Children," that exposes the ongoing battle for control of the next generation and their minds. While the film was blocked by the mainstream media and from being promoted on most social media channels, Elon Musk shared it on X where it gained more than 40 million views in the first week. Defending the Truth One of the most dangerous methods being used against our children changing language, definitions and the lack of basic, objective truth and faith. Landon and Emily talk about the devasting impact this has had on our youth and what we can do about it. The Parenting Revolution Landon shares strategies to shift the power back to parents. Action Items + Mentioned on the Show: Watch the War on Children Read Landon's free Parenting Revolution guide. Send this episode to a Mama Bear who needs to hear it! More about Landon Starbuck: Landon left the music industry as a Billboard charting singer/songwriter to use her voice advocating for children and women who've experienced trafficking and exploitation. Over the years, she's lent her expertise to national organizations and boards combatting human trafficking and abuse of women and children. She's a partner with The National Center On Sexual Exploitation and a member of The Coalition To End Sexual Exploitation. In 2021, Landon directed the largest coalition and demonstration at our Southern border exposing the human trafficking crisis. In 2022, Landon was invited to give a TEDX talk at the historic Franklin Theatre. Months after receiving a standing ovation, she was told her talk, “Stopping The Epidemic of Child Trafficking & Exploitation” was BANNED by TEDX for supposedly violating their content guidelines yet they failed to cite any part of the talk that violated the guidelines. Child protection advocates were quick to condemn TedX for banning Landon's powerful talk.

Here in the American South, we have a question we ask one another. Who are your people? That means, who is your family? We like to know how we connect to one another. Our guest today is not a part of our biological family, but we do feel like he is OUR people. Sean Dietrich is a writer, storyteller, musician, lover of bloodhounds, Atlanta Braves fan and Andy Griffith enthusiast. His perspective on the simple, yet important things in life, is so refreshing. Meet us at the table to hear more from our friend, Sean of the South. This episode was recorded live at The Franklin Theatre (Franklin, TN) on Oct. 30, 2022. We are excited to discuss with Sean his new book, You Are My Sunshine, as well as other fun stories from life as a southerner. The joy and benefits that this can bring abour are endless. But there may even be a few things fire can do for you that you've never thought about... Health benefits: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25387270/ Chew on this... campires create a space for difficult conversations because everyone is looking into the flames and not directly at each other, it's easier to approach more sensitive topics without being confrontational. Because a shared fire lowers our defenses in the best of ways, we can story tell, and truth tell, and spread the warmth of hope and grace and reassurance. Gathering around a flame is primal and precious and perfectly healing and while it's dangerous to play with matches, it's life-changing to campfire. What an exceptionally unusual year that we’ve had! We can’t believe that it’s the Advent season. For us, the liturgical calendar of Advent serves as reset for us as we come together and remember the birth of our Savior Jesus. During this season, we’re reminded of God’s story among a people who, just like us, were living in a season of deferred hope. When hope escapes us, we can easily fall prey to shrugging our shoulders, having a “we’ll see” type of attitude. Christmas resets us. Kitty & I love Christmas in Franklin! This little town that we’ve called home for the last 18 years always shows off its “specialness” around Christmas. It seems effortless to get into the Christmas spirit with events like the Dickens of a Christmas, the Franklin Christmas Parade, the showing of “It’s a Wonderful Life” at the quaint Franklin Theatre, and the lighting of the Christmas Tree in the Square. But 2020 has been a year of making scheduling changes on the fly. We had to re-think our Easter plans, Mother’s Day, graduations, weddings, Father’s Day, Thanksgiving… and we are not quite ready to give up Christmas. Many people are thinking about how to do Christmas throughout the world, and we kept coming back to the idea that “Christmas isn’t cancelled!” Because now, more than ever, we need hope, peace, love, and joy. We need to press into the meaning of Christmas because it’s easy for circumstances to determine our attitudes. But with Christmas, we pause to celebrate the coming of our Savior Lord into this world at the perfect time. It’s so easy to look at what’s going on around us and let those things rob us of what Jesus gives to us freely: hope, peace, love, and joy! This week, we are looking at Advent Joy.
