Parents worry about everything—but some things just aren't worth the stress. In this episode of MamaDoc BabyDoc, we talk about the common concerns that make parents anxious but usually earn a reassuring “I don't care” from your pediatrician. From little quirks to harmless habits, we'll sort out what truly matters for your child's health and what you can confidently let go of.

Dr. Jack Stockwell, a NUCCA Chiropractor and GAPS Practitioner in SLC, UT (866.867.5070 | ForbiddenDoctor.com | JackStockwell.com), covers the the biggest news in the health and wellness space from a holistic, naturopath perspective. First, Dr. Jack starts off with the discussion on vaccines in Congress, especially the Hepatitis B vaccine — including the actual risks and actual benefits about which we're not typically told. There is a misconception on the stance of RFK Jr., and whether or not he is an “anti-vaxxer,” even thought he himself has been vaccinated and all but one of his children have been vaccinated. He's never once said he is against vaccines. RFK Jr.'s position is for safety studies. Circling back to the Hepatitis B vaccine, Dr. Jack shares that most newborns get the Hepatitis B vaccine on the day they're born. Hepatitis B is spread by dirty/shared needles, multiple sex partners, and other immunosuppressive behavior — with which most newborn babies are not involved. While the Hepatitis B vaccine has reduced acute cases in high-risk demographics, there is no evidence it's done the same thing with newborns. Safety concerns marring the Hepatitis B vaccine directs the fact that the one-size-fits all medical approach doesn't exist. Then, Doug joins Dr. Jack to discuss listener questions. Together, the gentlemen discuss the body's need for protein and the best way to get protein. Recently, pasta-makers have been adding protein to their noodle products to help those get the vital nutrient if they aren't eating meats to get their protein. As Dr. Jack always states, the best approach to essential nutrients is to consume it the way Mother Nature intended us to eat. Next, Doug addresses his hearing issues, and the quality of his hearing has gone down ever since a bug got stuck in his ear. Many people will easily accept a need to wear glasses, yet most will put off using hearing aids. Why is that. Doug and Dr. Jack dive in. Website: GoodDayHealthrShow.com Social Media: @GoodDayNetworks

Jake Haro Case: Castration, Competency Tests & Child Safety: Should Society Go Further? What does it mean to have the capacity to parent? In this gripping segment, Tony Brueski and psychotherapist Shavaun Scott wrestle with the uncomfortable truth: not everyone can or should be raising children. The Haro case sparks a brutally honest conversation about America's obsession with “positive thinking” — the idea that anyone can change if they just try. But when it comes to protecting kids, blind faith is a death sentence. Jake Haro attended parenting classes, checked the required boxes, and was rated “low risk.” Weeks later, his baby was dead. Tony and Shavaun explore the difference between positive thinking and magical thinking, questioning why courts continue to assume abusers can be rehabilitated with a weekend class or compliance checklist. The discussion veers into dystopian territory — competency tests for reproduction, mandatory castration for repeat abusers — but the underlying point is serious: we are giving violent, unfit parents chance after chance, while children pay the price. This segment is provocative, raw, and absolutely necessary. It challenges viewers to confront uncomfortable questions about parental rights, societal responsibility, and whether protecting children should come before protecting the freedom of abusers. Jade Dass was taking medication to treat her addiction to opioids before she became pregnant. Scientific studies and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say this leads to the best outcomes for both mothers and babies. But after Dass delivered a healthy daughter, the hospital reported her to the Arizona Department of Child Safety, which conducted an investigation and separated her from her newborn. “I just couldn't believe it, that people would act like this,” Dass says. “Like how they couldn't see—it's, like, you have no humanity if you're gonna take someone's baby.”To understand the scale of this issue, reporter Shoshana Walter, data reporter Melissa Lewis, and a team of Reveal researchers and lawyers filed 100 public records requests, putting together the first-ever tally of how often women are reported to child welfare agencies for taking prescription drugs during pregnancy. This week on Reveal, we follow Dass as she grapples with losing custody of her baby—and makes one last desperate attempt to keep her family together.Walter has turned some of her reporting for Reveal into a book about the addiction treatment industry, Rehab: An American Scandal, which comes out this month. This is an update of an episode that originally aired in July 2023.
