For more info visit: https://journ.tv — Everything is One, it has always been and will always be because time does not exist, so there is only what Is, Now. To observe elements coming together, it's a moment; however, to remain focused on this moment, loops it and repeats a fractal pattern which stalls the flow of life. The Science of Oneness is the realization that the infinite Is and so we're not getting there. We've always been here.
Vi Kikker pa flow og kreativitet idag. Hvordan pavirker vores lives erfaringer os og hvordan hjelper Daniel virksomheder med at loese deres medarbejderes blokader Daniel ejer to virksomheder. At vare hel stille imens meditation. “A person can make himself happy or miserable regardless of what is actually happening outside just by changing the contents of consciousness” -Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi How you feel about life and living, and your happiness in general - ultimately depends on interpreting everyday experience. Your mind shapes every experience you have and there is a minimal return on happiness effort, trying to exert more control over external forces. Time should be spent on ordering your inner world. This podcast is about doing just that. My guest is Loch Kelly. Loch is an author, meditation teacher, psychotherapist, and founder of the Open-Hearted Awareness Institute. Loch has collaborated with neuroscientists at Yale, UPenn, and NYU to study how awareness training can enhance compassion and well-being. As a licensed psychotherapist, Loch has been teaching seminars, supervising clinicians and practicing awareness psychotherapy in NYC for 30 years. He has authored two books on meditation, Shift into Freedom The Science and Practice of Open-Hearted Awareness and The Way of Effortless Mindfulness A Revolutionary Guide for Living an Awakened Life, which is the touchstone for our discussion Drawing from neuroscience, psychology, and ancient wisdom traditions, the book is a practical guide to what he calls the next stage in the ongoing mindfulness movement: effortless mindfulness. On the show we discuss these topics and more Defining meditation Defining awareness Suffering and managing emotions Why meditation can be hard Who meditation is for Terminology Explaining Flow states and how it can be elicited in meditation Differences between mindfulness meditation and effortless mindfulness On effort and effortlessness Types / Methods Multiple "selves" and the mini-me Glimpse practices How to start - "here now" meditation There is a lot more here, so give it a listen. Join us as we conclude a three part series on vulnerability from audience feedback.Hat tip to Steph McCoy for the great topic suggestion! How To Embrace Vulnerability As Your Greatest Strength“Vulnerability is not winning or losing; it’s having the courage to show up and be seen when we have no control over the outcome. Vulnerability is not weakness; it’s our greatest measure of courage,” affirms research professor and author Brené Brown in Rising Strong.Your association with vulnerability requires a shift in awareness in order to strengthen your emotional well-being.You must accept your vulnerability if you wish to live a wholesome life. Even the smallest act of letting down your guard is a commitment to your personal growth.“When we experience a great loss or hurt that feels like ‘broken heartedness’, we now realize that our heart is not broken. It’s actually the heart’s protective shell of defences breaking open to allow us to feel all emotions fully,” writes author Loch Kelly in Shift into Freedom: The Science and Practice of Open-Hearted Awareness.Vulnerability is an act of courage because you merge with your authentic self, instead of hiding behind a facade to appease others. It is within the unknown where your greatest potential lies. Human nature is imperfect, yet the paradox is that we are whole within that sphere of imperfection. To embrace vulnerability as your greatest strength, you will need to become aware of your pain points. Retaliation leads to suffering, since you are likely to defend your pain like a wounded animal.Every person has pain thresholds. If left unchecked, they become inflamed and dominate your emotional landscape, not to mention your physical health.Suffering ensues when you focus on your sorrow, instead of appreciating the beauty and richness of your complete self.[Similarly,] …be wary of the ego and its aversion to being vulnerable. The ego likes to protect its image and vulnerability is a crack in its armour. How Vulnerability Can Be a Leadership SuperpowerGood leaders bring mentally healthy values to their teams and organizations. And that means showing weakness, at times, and facing the resulting risk of being perceived as a weak leader. But accessing that vulnerability is harder for some leaders than others.Jason Rosario, founder of The Lives of Men, discusses how mental health, vulnerability, and masculinity intersect at work. The Anxious Achiever / Season 2, Episode 5Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/allaroundgrowth)
With Pesach just a day away and a worldwide Pandemic looming over us, is there a price to be paid for our freedom? In this season of redemption, Rabbi Yitzchak and William discuss some distinctions between the good eye and the evil eye as it relates to our outlook and perspective. We also discuss the actions of the righteous like Yotam in 2 Kings 15 and the courage of the Hebrews in following the commandments given them in taking a lamb, a symbol of one of the Egyptian's deities. "Effortless Mindfulness is letting go of present moments, thoughts, and attention to open to a naturally wise, compassionate awareness that is connected in the Now. " – Loch Kelly Loch Kelly, M.Div., LCSW, is an author, meditation teacher, licensed psychotherapist, and founder of Open-Hearted Awareness Institute, a nonprofit located in New York. Author of the best-selling and award-winning book The Way of Effortless Mindfulness, Loch is a recognized leader in the field of meditation, and offers tools for effortless mindfulness. He served on the New York Insight Teachers Council, studied extensively with Mingyur Rinpoche, and was invited to teach direct realization by Adyashanti, an American-born spiritual teacher who has been teaching for more than 20 years. “There is more to effortless mindfulness than meditation,” Loch says. “Effortless mindfulness is primarily an off-the-meditation-cushion way of weaving together contemplation and compassionate actions. Effortless mindfulness begins by opening to a natural spacious awareness in order to become more wise, embodied, and creative. A new ethical motivation springs from the realization of a loving interconnection with all of life." Effortless awareness has been described in the traditional literature as being so close it cannot be seen, so subtle it cannot be understood, and so good it cannot be believed. Loch describes effortless mindfulness as the discovery of an optimal mind, or an open mind, that’s already aware which we can then be aware from. “From this spacious and pervasive awareness, we discover that we’re aware not only of the ability to focus on our breath, but we feel almost as if we’re being breathed, as if our breath is connected to the outer world, the inner world, and we feel as if we’re in this flow or what’s been called ‘in the zone.’” Loch’s work is to help people access awakening as the next natural stage of human development. He has collaborated with neuroscientists at Yale, UPenn, and NYU in the study of how awareness training can enhance compassion and wellbeing. He offers in-person retreats, workshops, and online video and audio courses. Loch has authored three books, including Shift into Freedom: The Science and Practice of Open-Hearted Awareness (2015); Effortless Mindfulness Now: Awakening Our Natural Capacity for Focus, Freedom, and Joy (2017); and The Way of Effortless Mindfulness: A Revolutionary Guide for Living an Awakened Life (2019). His latest book offers a practical guide to experiencing the next stage in the ongoing mindfulness revolution: effortless mindfulness. With guided experiential practices, he writes about how to live with an open heart and peaceful mind and uncover the wise and loving awareness that is within and all around us. Loch graduated from Columbia University where he received a traveling fellowship to study forms of non-dual meditation in Sri Lanka, India and Nepal from 1981-1982, and has studied with teachers from around the world. As a meditation teacher, Loch teaches using an adult-education style based in the earliest non-dual wisdom traditions, modern science, and psychotherapy. Loch has worked in community mental health, established homeless shelters and counseled family members of 9/11. He spent 10 years establishing homeless shelters and community lunch programs while working in a community mental health clinic in Brooklyn, New York. He also served as Coordinator of Counseling and Interspiritual Chaplain at Union Theological Seminary and worked extensively with families recovering from the trauma of 9/11. Loch currently lives in New York City with his wife Paige and their cat Duffy. Join us in conversation with this gifted teacher!
