Just as The Waco Kid is about to take his shot, an improvised line from Liam Dunn makes him stop. It also leads to many of the townsfolk beating him with their hats. We cut to Taggart getting off his horse and moving to kick down the door to a building. As he does, the entire facade falls, revealing the fake. As Taggart yells they've been suckered in, Jim lines up his revolver. The Waco Kid squeezes off a shot. A moment later, the first charge goes off, sending a horse and its rider into the sky. One of the explosions we noticed is from the same building Taggart had kicked down just moments before. As the minute comes to an end, Sheriff Bart leads the citizens to charge down the hill to attack. As a bonus, we also get a bit of our interview with actor Burton Gilliam over his thoughts about the ending of the movie. Our guest today is Eric Nash. Eric is a co-host on the Watchmen Minute and has been a guest on other movies by minutes podcasts, including DCEU Minute – Dawn of Justice minutes, Point Break Minute, Tarantino Minute and the Galaxy Quest Minute. The episode opens with Taggart yelling for everyone to hurry up or they'll never get to Rock Ridge. As we shift to Bart and Jim overlooking the fake town, we spend time discussing a large outtake. The Governor is on a press tour and makes a stop in the fake town of Rock Ridge. Afterwards, Taggart and his men are next on scene. Jim comments they are buying it. As the bad guys are shooting up the town, Bart pulls up the handle on a plunger to ignite the dynamite down below. Unfortunately, the plunger doesn't work. Van Johnson realizes the bad guys are going to figure out it's a fake town any minute. Bart looks to Jim and asks, "Think you can squeeze off a little shot from here..." But, we don't get the rest of the line as that is where the episode ends. The episode begins with the first in line having said "rape" twice. Hedley calls him on it. He says he really likes rape. He is deputized and then the next is asked to step forward. As he is giving his qualifications, it is obvious he is chewing gum. Hedley says, "I hope you brought enough for everybody." The man says he didn't know there would be so many. Hedley immediately shoots him dead. We cut to The Waco Kid and Sheriff Bart. The Kid says, "Boy is he strict." Bart wants to get closer. Jim has an idea upon seeing the two Klansman in their Have a Nice Day robes. Our guests today are Rick Ingham and Dave Pallas. Rick, who, along with his wife, Julia, are a New Hampshire-based husband-and-wife podcasting team who began the Mad Max Minute podcast in January 2017. The dolly shot continues down the lines of bad guys all lined up for Hedley's Army. We see bandits and cowboys followed by German WWII soldiers and an aviator who looks just like Mel Brooks. There are other desperadoes mixed in with biker gang members, moonshine runners, plantation owners and Arabian fighters on camel-back. The line wraps up with a pair of Klansman. Behind a boulder, Bart and Jim look over the villainous line of thugs and criminals. As the minute ends, Taggart calls the first man up and Hedley asks for qualifications. The man simply answers, "Rape, murder, arson and rape." Our guests today are Rick Ingham and Dave Pallas. The episode opens with Bart reading the notice Hedley Lamarr is circulating to recruit his army of ne'er-do-wells. Bart says it is the last act of a desperate man. Howard Johnson replies that he doesn't care if it's the first act of Henry the Fifth, they are all leaving. Bart then asks them to give him 24 hours to come up with a brilliant idea to save the town. They all say, "No!" Bart then says, "You'd do it for Randolph Scott." A hush travels through the townspeople. They whisper his name aloud. Suddenly, an unseen choir sings out the name of Randolph Scott as the townsfolk rise up in reverence. Olson Johnson gives the nod to Howard, who tells Bart he's got 24 hours. As the minute comes to an end, we get a slow dolly shot of a line of ruffians waiting to sign up for Hedley's army. We open with Sheriff Bart challenging Jim's claim. He says, "Well, if you the Kid, then show me something." Jim says he could have a few years ago. He then raises his right arm. Bart says it looks steady as a rock. Then Jim brings up his left arm, which is in convulsions. Sheriff Bart immediately dismisses him, saying he is pulling his lariat. Jim smiles and looks happy and ready to accept the challenge. He stands and then tells Bart to place his hands on either side of his king. He then says, "When you hear the word go, you try to grab it first." Today's guest is Jonathan Howell, who likes to talk about movies, maybe a little too much. He fell in love with the Movies By Minutes format and decided to join. Along with his college friend, Chris, they investigate the movie Mission: Impossible (1996) one minute at a time. You can find Jonathan as one of the hosts of Minute: Impossible and he has also been a guest on Galaxy Quest Minute, Cabin in the Woods and upcoming on Titanic Minute, Mad Max, Flash Gordon, Spider-Man 2, DarkKnight and Watchmen Minute. The scene continues in the jail cell. Sheriff Bart asks Jim what he likes to do? Jim considers and says he likes to play chess. He then adds he likes to screw. Bart immediately suggests a game of chess. We then cut to the game in progress and just as Bart makes a move, he calls out checkmate. Jim is impressed and they toast to Bart's victory. Sheriff Bart then asks why Jim seems bent on drinking himself to death. As the episode comes to a close, Jim reveals he used to be called, "The Waco Kid." Bart does not believe him at all, mocking that the Waco Kid had the fastest hand in the West. Jim corrects him, "...in the world!"
