They said it couldn't be adapted into a movie. Then came along Zack Snyder. Based on the best-selling graphic novel, Watchmen was released in March of 2009 with an all-star cast. Some die-hard comic fans didn't like it, especially the changes that were made, which other fans hail it as one of the greatest comic book movies ever made. Where do the guys stand on it? We were finally able to re-record our Watchmen episode with no technical hiccups! In this episode we discuss the differences between Alan Moore's graphic novel and Zack Snyder's film adaptation as well as as another film adaptation that was thankfully never made.

Want a feel-good movie that enjoys its female cast? Yeah, keep flipping past this one. It's time for Watchmen everyone. Over/under on how much the VFX artists enjoyed making a LOT of blue penises? Why is this movie so long? And how was it the shortest version? Do all retired superheroes get together and catch up? How did Rorschach's mask work? Does it reflect his emotions? Kudos to Dr. Manhattan's multi-tasking skills. Mars?!? Really?!? No. Unnecessary. We can all agree that most of their masks are not real masks right? We can still see their faces!! How was there no "kill" button to save Jon Osterman from becoming Dr. Manhattan? The whole experiment was based on electricity - there HAD to be a way to save him. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/olimpuspro/message

In movies and TV and comics, we get to see superpowers on display from both heroes and villains alike, and while it’s fun to imagine what it would be like to fly or become invisible or have super speed, the real life implications are slightly more horrifying … or nigh incomprehensible. Teegan and Lindsay walk through different heroes and villains and their powers, discussing how they work - or don’t - in a real world context, and what it might be like if they did. We speculate on the mechanics of flying - whether through space or in general - changing your appearance (is Mystique made up solely of stem cells that she actively controls?), the mechanics of super strength in characters like Spider-Man and Jessica Jones, how mind-blowing Dr. Manhattan’s powers are that he controls the attraction between atoms, to even a little bit of the philosophy and string theory behind Darkseid and his emanations. While we discuss these things in a casual manner, if you want to get really in depth, we recommend Youtuber The Imaginary Axis, whose videos inspired this particular episode. Also, for Geek on Fleek, Lindsay takes a moment to thank everyone making homemade masks for themselves and others (and also, yay for geeky materials!), and in Gaming Corner, Teegan discusses the ethically dubious practices of Gamestop, both before and after the pandemic.
