Send us a textMoney changes everything—or does it? This episode dives deep into the moments that could have transformed our financial futures but slipped through our fingers. From a missed opportunity to invest in Bitcoin in 2013 ("we would have 1200 percent our money") to content creation ideas that were years ahead of their time, we explore the bittersweet reality of hindsight. The conversation shifts to Kanye West's latest spectacle—appearing in DJ Academics' interview wearing a black Klansman hood. Beyond the shock value, we dissect what this performance reveals about Kanye's evolution from artist to caricature. "He's not off his rocker," we argue. "This is just a coordinated event for attention." We examine how his strategic mentions of his children attempt to manipulate public sympathy while his actions suggest otherwise. We tackle the declining enrollment of Black men in higher education, with shocking statistics from Howard University where only 19% of students are Black men. Rather than blaming individual choices, we explore the systemic barriers that make college seem like an unreasonable gamble for many young Black men, and how this educational gap affects everything from community development to dating dynamics. From Erykah Badu's controversial BBL critique at the Billboard Women's Music Awards to Elon Musk's Wisconsin election interference and baby mama drama, we offer unfiltered perspectives on how wealth, power, and identity shape our cultural landscape.Listen now to join this unfiltered conversation about missed opportunities, accountability, and the complex intersection of money, power, and identity in today's America.
The musician and actor Daryl Davis probably knows more about the Klu Klux Klan than any other living African-American. As the author of Klan-Destine Relationships and his latest The Klan Whisperer, Davis has written about not only his infiltration of the Klan but his befriending of regretful Klansmen like Scott Shepherd (My wife, Cassandra Knight, also wrote about her dinner with Shepherd). Davis' new book should probably be entitled My Life with the Klan. But as the ideas of the Klan have become more mainstream in the last few years, so the traditional KKK itself seems like a quaint relic of a more innocent past. In the old days, you had to hide under a white sheet to say dumb things about people of other colors or faiths. Now these same dumb assumptions are being openly peddled by powerful media figures and elected politicians. Here are the five KEEN ON AMERICA take-aways from our conversation with Davis:* The power of conversation as a tool against hatred: Davis emphasizes that conversation is "the greatest tool or weapon to dismantle conflict" despite being "the least expensive" and "the most underused." His approach involves engaging directly with KKK members to challenge their beliefs through dialogue rather than confrontation.* People can change their racist beliefs: Davis firmly believes that racist ideologies are learned behaviors that can be unlearned. He makes a distinction between inherent traits (like a leopard's spots) and acquired beliefs, arguing that "what can be learned can be unlearned." He provides concrete examples like Scott Shepard, a former Klansman who completely transformed his worldview.* Understanding racism through personal experience: Davis's background as a diplomat's son who traveled extensively gave him a unique perspective on racism. Having been exposed to diversity from an early age, he was shocked when he first experienced racism at age 10, which led to his lifelong quest to understand and combat prejudice.* Core human values transcend differences: Davis believes that regardless of background, all humans share five core values: wanting to be loved, respected, heard, treated fairly and truthfully, and wanting the same things for their families as others want for theirs. He uses this understanding as a foundation for connecting with people across ideological divides.* The importance of distinguishing between ignorance and stupidity: Davis makes a crucial distinction between people who are ignorant (lacking information) versus stupid (having information but ignoring it). He believes education and exposure can cure ignorance, which is why he focuses on providing information and personal connection to those with racist beliefs.Dr. Daryl Davis is an international recording artist who has performed and toured all 50 States and around the world. He has performed extensively with Chuck Berry, The Legendary Blues Band (formerly The Muddy Waters Blues Band), Elvis Presley's Jordanaires, and many others. As an actor Daryl received rave reviews for his stage role in The Time Of Your Life, and has done film and television roles including HBO's acclaimed series The Wire. As a race relations expert Dr. Daryl Davis has received numerous awards and high acclaim for his book Klan-Destine Relationships and his award-winning film documentary Accidental Courtesy. He is the first Black author to write a book on the Ku Klux Klan based upon in-person interviews and personal encounters. His ability to get racists to renounce their ideology has sent Daryl to travel all over the United States and the world to share his methodology.Keen On America is a reader-supported publication. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly Compensatory Call-In 03/08/25. We encourage non-white listeners to dial in with their codified concepts, new terms, observations, research findings, workplace problems or triumphs, and/or suggestions on how best to Replace White Supremacy With Justice ASAP. This weekly broadcast examines current events from across the globe to learn what's happening in all areas of people activity. We cultivate Counter-Racist Media Literacy by scrutinizing journalists' word choices and using logic to deconstruct what is reported as "news." We'll use these sessions to hone our use of terms as tools to reveal truth, neutralize Racists/White people. #ANTIBLACKNESS This weekend marks 60 years since the infamous "Bloody Sunday" march in Selma, Alabama where dozens of black females, elderly and children were beaten, trampled by horses, and shackled. , During the melee, the late John Lewis was pummeled on Edmund Pettus Bridge, which was deliberately named after a Klu Klux Klan member. Importantly, after much public debate and White hand-ringing, the bridge remains named after a Klansman in 2025. Organizers of this weekend's anniversary march openly question how much progress has been made since that day of White Terrorism. In Germany, a half dozen White men were arrested and charged with plotting to overthrow the German government and kidnap the health minister. The spirit of Dr. Frances Cress Welsing is demanding that alleged counter-racists pay attention to what's happening in this part of so-called Europe
A big change in thinking: 'The Klansman's Son'
R. Derek Black wrote "The Klansman's Son" about growing up in the White Nationalist movement, and how he broke free from it. He will be at the STL Jewish Book Festival on Tuesday night.
Derek Black's journey from the heart of white nationalism to a committed stance against racism provides a compelling exploration of identity, ideology, and personal transformation. Raised within a family that played a significant role in the white nationalist movement, Derek offers insights into the intricacies of this often-misunderstood group. Discussion relates to the distinctions between white nationalism and white supremacy, personal internal conflicts, the pivotal moments of change during college years, and the importance of thoughtful discourse and community in altering deeply-held beliefs. Derek also talks about the upcoming engagement at the Mirowitz Performing Arts Center and transformation in their book The Klansman's Son, My Journey from White Supremacy to Anti-Racism. As an ordinary high school student in the 1960s in Alabama, Tom Tarrants became deeply unsettled by the social upheaval and turned to extremist ideology. While attempting to bomb the home of a Jewish leader in Mississippi, Tom was ambushed by law enforcement and shot multiple times during a high-speed chase. After escaping from prison and being caught, he then had a crushing experience of the weight of his sin and became a Christian while in solitary confinement. Now he's a co-pastor of a racially mixed church and became the president of the C. S. Lewis Institute, where he devoted himself to helping others become wholehearted followers of Jesus. On Gaslit Nation, we often say that America's history is an authoritarian one for nonwhite people. That brutal legacy flows directly through the family of Georgia Governor Brian Kemp. His ancestors were among the first to bring enslaved Africans to Georgia and fought to prevent America's Founding Fathers from banning slavery in the Declaration of Independence. Fast forward to today: Brian Kemp continues that legacy by denying voting rights to the descendants of those his ancestors enslaved. And in Georgia, you can't even learn about this history because Kemp has worked to suppress it—that's how he holds onto power. As the must-watch documentary Vigilantes, Inc. by investigative journalist Greg Palast reveals, “suppressing history suppresses the vote.” Narrated by Rosario Dawson and produced by Martin Sheen, George DiCaprio, and Maria Florio, the film is available for free at SaveYourVote.org, a site launched by Leonardo DiCaprio. The name Vigilantes, Inc. traces back to 1946, when the Ku Klux Klan used it as a cover for their operations. Today, Kemp is leading the charge to use the Klan's playbook to steal Georgia for Donald Trump in 2024, and MAGA has a new A.I. weapon. Palast is known for his investigative reports for The Guardian and bestsellers including The Best Democracy Money Can Buy. This week's bonus show, out Saturday for subscribers at the Truth-teller ($5/month) level and higher, will feature the audience Q&A with Palast at our live taping. Listeners' questions at the Democracy Defender ($10/month) level and higher will open the bonus show, incuding how to explain to small business owners that serially corrupt, Kremlin asset, career criminal Donald Trump is no businessman—he just played one on TV. Daryl Davis a black blues musician will be speaking and performing at the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design in Lancaster Oct 4 at 3:30 p.m. Davis is currently the subject of an Independent Lens documentary. Davis says he was inspired musically by Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry. “I thought, my goodness, that's what I want to do. And what, you know, really inspired me about them was the fact that these two gentlemen and their contemporaries had made millions upon millions of people all over the world happy with their music. They had touched them.” Davis graduated from Howard University with a degree in jazz performance. He's played a lot of rock n' roll, country blues, boogie woogie, jazz, and big band swing. Davis performed with the late Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, and many other artists. He believes music is a powerful uniting force. Davis is also the author of Klan-destine Relationships: A Black Man's Odyssey where he speaks about the power of conversation to ignite positive change, understanding hate groups in America, and how music broke down racial barriers in the 1950's and 1980's. After the performance, a guy came up to Davis praising his performance. The man told Davis he was a member of the Klu Klux Klan. That interaction posed a question for Davis. A question that has been haunting hum since he was 10 years old. “How can you hate me? You don't even know me. It fell right into your lap, and you didn't even realize it. Because who is the best person to ask? Who better to ask that question of than someone who would go so far as to join an organization that has over a 100-year history of practicing hating people who don't look like that or who don't believe as they believe? Get back in contact with that Klansman and ask him to set you up with the Klan leader for the state of Maryland. To a state leader is known as a grand dragon. It's what you and I would call a governor who heads of state, a national leader. You and I would call a president. They call it the Imperial wizard. So, I you know, I've told him myself, you know, get back in contact with that guy. Get him to set you up with the Grand Dragon interview. The Grand Dragon. Go up north. Go down south. Go to the Midwest. Go to the West. Interview other grand dragons, imperial wizards and other members. And write a book about it. Because all the books written on the Klan have been written by white people, you know, who had more access, they could sit down and interview Klan people. No black person had done that. So, I decided I would write the first book as a black author from the perspective of sitting down face to face with Klan leaders and members and interviewing them. And that's how I started.” As Davis continued to ask that question by speaking with KKK members, some became his friends, left the Klan, and gave him their robes and hoods. “And today, I own a ton of Klan robes and Klan hoods that have been given to me by active KKK leaders and members because they no longer believe in what those things stand for. As a result of these conversations.” Support WITF: https://www.witf.org/support/give-now/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

What's it like to discover a Klansman in one's own family? A few weeks ago, R. Derek Black, the son of a KKK Grand Wizard and an intimate family friend of David Duke, came on the show to confess the exceptional nature of his own family history. But for Edward Ball, the author of Life of a Klansman, the story of his great great grandfather, perhaps the most disturbing element of having a family history of white supremacy is its unexceptional quality. As Ball - best known as the author of the award winning Slaves in the Family - explains, around half of Americans could, if they wish, write a similar memoir. So Ball's Klansman could easily be your Klansman too. “Whiteness and its tribal nature,” Ball warns, “are normal, everywhere, and seem as permanent as the sunrise.” Edward Ball is the author of several nonfiction books, including The Inventor and the Tycoon, about the birth of moving pictures in California, and Slaves in the Family, an account of his family's history as slaveholders in South Carolina, which received the National Book Award for Nonfiction. He has taught at Yale University and has been awarded fellowships by the Radcliffe Institute at Harvard and the New York Public Library's Cullman Center. He is also the recipient of a Public Scholar Award from the National Endowment for the Humanities.Named as one of the "100 most connected men" by GQ magazine, Andrew Keen is amongst the world's best known broadcasters and commentators. Today we discuss how and when Derek's identity became exposed to their friend group, including drastically different reactions from fellow students, how they were invited to Shabbat dinner by some Jewish friends, and how over time the cognitive dissonance of believing in ideology that was dangerous to people they care about began to wear on them, eventually leading them to denounce white nationalism. Episode 231 is the ninth in a series of episodes where we begin to explore the radical right groups of the 1960's that clearly had great motive to murder president Kennedy. Emerging, alongside civil rights leaders, as a prime target for ire of white racists, anti-communists, and and a wide variety of other conservative groups, President Kennedy was a a target among them all. This aspect of the assassination and the connection of the radical right is little explored. We started many episodes back, with the story of Joseph Milteer but its rather easy to pull on that string and find much more underneath the covers. Today's episode Part 9 contnues the story tell of the trip that Milteer took on Saturday and Sunday November 23rd and 24th to Columbia, South Carolina. Part 9 covers more of the details of the Q&A debrief of Somersett by the Miami Police Department on November 26th regarding the event. Milteer would first stop in Jacksonsville and pick up Willie Somersett at the Union bus station. From there they would proceed to Columbia, staying overnight and meeting the next day with four men, three of whom were identified members of the South Carolina Ku Klux Klan. The discussions that were had that weekend between Somersett and Milteer on their drive to Columbia and back, and while they were meeting with the Klansman, solidify in Somersett's mind that Milteer was in the know about the JFK assassination. Somersett was confident that the conspiracy had emanated from Miami, New Orleans and California based on comments that Milteer made to him.. What is miraculous regarding these statements by Milteer is that they were made over the weekend following the president's assassination and they were relayed by Somersett to the Miami Police Department Detective on the case just days later. The interrogation and Q&A are preserved in transcription and are extraordianry for their content, timing and then documentation within days of the assassination. The broader story of Milteer brings together a greater element of societal underground. We hear of the traditional groups and study them including the KKK, the John Birch Society, the White Citizens Councils, The National States Rights Party and the Minutemen. These handful of groups were intertwined with men who weaved their way in and out of the shadowy existence of this intense resistance to societal change.Even as early as 1964, rumors and serious concerns over the lone gunman theory and the evidence that might contravene it, were becoming a major concern for the government and the commission. Conspiracy theories were contrary to the government's stated narrative from the very beginning. This real-life story is more fascinating than fiction. No matter whether you are a serious researcher or a casual student, you will enjoy the fact filled narrative and story as we relive one of the most shocking moments in American History. An event that changed the nation and changed the world forever.

A big change in thinking: 'The Klansman's Son'
Today our guest is R. Derek Black, former poster child for white supremacy (now turned antiracist advocate) and author of the new memoir The Klansman's Son. Derek, who came out as trans in this book, walks us through the white supremacist movement, where it stands now, what it was like growing up in a white nationalist family, being close to prominent neo-Nazi David Duke, how they were taught that the whole world misunderstood their "scientifically correct" ideology, and speaking to the press and becoming a public-facing figure of racism as a child. They'll tell us about hosting a white nationalist radio show, going off to college, and how they began hanging out with a Jewish girl there who had no idea about this double life they'd been leading. The Vietnam War gave birth to a new generation of veterans, ones who came back from war feeling abandoned by their government and by their fellow civilians. Unlike prior wars, the enemies were largely non-white and the terrain of war was entirely different. Guerrilla war and traps created the conditions of dehumanization that bled racism into anti-communism. Upon returning home, many found themselves disgusted by the United States government and found the country they returned to much different than the country they had left, as progressive policies had taken hold through the late years of the 60s and early 70s. We highlighted this with the rise of the Back to the Land movement, and how the countercultural revolution fed into new visions of the future. Many point to the startling rise in white supremacy in the late 20th century to the aftermath of the Vietnam War. As narrated by white power proponents, the Vietnam War was a story of constant danger, gore, and horror. It was also a story of soldiers' betrayal by military and political leaders and of the trivialization of their sacrifice. This narrative increased paramilitarism and separationism through homesteading and communes within the movement. In his speeches, newsletters, and influential 1983 collection Essays of a Klansman, movement leader Louis Beam urged activists to continue fighting the Vietnam War on American soil. When he told readers to “bring it on home,” he meant a literal extension of military-style combat into civilian space. He referred to two wars: the one he had fought in Vietnam and the white revolution he hoped to wage in the United States. In this episode, we explore how the politics of the 1960s and 70s drove the homesteader movement and shifted the focus of growing food as a means of resistance and purity. How did this movement shape homesteading, and how prominent was it? The Klansman's Son: My Journey from White Nationalism to Antiracism: A Memoir by R. Derek Black https://amzn.to/3V1mTF0 From the former heir-apparent to white nationalism, The Klansman's Son is an astonishing memoir of a childhood built on fear, of breaking from a community of hate. Derek Black was raised to take over the white nationalist movement in the United States. Their father, Don Black, was a former Grand Wizard in the Ku Klux Klan and started Stormfront, the internet's first white supremacist website—Derek built the kids' page. David Duke, was also their close family friend and mentor. Racist hatred, though often wrapped up in respectability, was all Derek knew. Then, while in college in 2013, Derek publicly renounced white nationalism and apologized for their actions and the suffering that they had caused. The majority of their family stopped speaking to them, and they disappeared into academia, convinced that they had done so much harm that there was no place for them in public life. But in 2016, as they watched the rise of Donald Trump, they immediately recognized what they were hearing—the spread and mainstreaming of the hate they had helped cultivate—and they knew that they couldn't stay silent. This is a thoughtful, insightful, and moving account of a singular life, with important lessons for our troubled times. Derek can trace a uniquely insider account of the rise of white nationalism, and how a child indoctrinated with hate can become an anti-racist adult. Few understand the ideology, motivations, or tactics of the white nationalist movement like Derek, and few have ever made so profound a change. When coded language and creeping authoritarianism spread the ideas of white nationalists, this is an essential book with a powerful voice.
R. Derek Black (they/them), a doctoral candidate in history at the University of Chicago whose father was a former Grand Wizard in the Ku Klux Klan and started Stormfront, the Internet's first white supremacist website, discusses how it felt to be the heir apparent to a white nationalist movement, how they interacted with family after renouncing white nationalism, and how we can come together as a country. Derek's new book is The Klansman's Son: My Journey from White Nationalism to Antiracism.

How seriously should we take the white nationalist threat in the United States? Very seriously, at least according to R. Derek Black, a young man who knows a thing or two about the US white nationalist movement. The son of a Grand Wizard of the KKK and a close family friend of David Duke, Black believes that white nationalism is no longer a fringe feature of the Trumpist Republican party. And it's this fear of the mainstreaming of overt racism that triggered Black's new book, The Klansman's Son: My Journey from White Nationalism to Antiracism, an account of his rebellion not just against racism, but against his family, particularly his Grand Wizard father, Don Black. Derek Black is an American former white supremacist. He is the son of Don Black, founder of the Stormfront online community, and godson of former Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard David Duke. He publicly renounced white nationalism and chronicled his personal journey away from his family's beliefs.Named as one of the "100 most connected men" by GQ magazine, Andrew Keen is amongst the world's best known broadcasters and commentators. We have finally, after 3 years, tracked down the ORIGINAL "Brain In A Jar" story that appeared in both Episode 1 of our podcast, and Episode 57, our primer for new listeners. This story was our holy grail, and after 3 years we have tracked down a firsthand account of this story for confirming/debunking. It originated with a fundamentalist pastor named J. Frank Norris, who in many ways is the genesis of the IFB movement as it exists today. What's more, he had a bizarrely acute influence on Jack Hyles. He also may have been a murderer (???) But we'll get to that next week.TW: In general we talk about a lot of potentially triggering topics on this show, including but not limited to suicide and mental health, racism, misogyny, PTSD and PTSD symptoms, child abuse, mental, physical, and sexual abuse, and spiritual abuse including guilt, shame, and fear. In most episodes we'll mention at least a few of these topics, but we try very hard to avoid graphic detail unless it's relevant to the story we're telling, and we do our best to give the audience a heads-up before going into detail on any of these topics.Additional TW for literally everything, this dude was a bad guy and did a lot of terrible stuff. Imagine if we were talking about a 1920s mobster and you've got the gist of it. Two women who don't have sex talk about sexuality. This should be good. Oh wait, they're also talking about their periods. And they think they're funny. Never mind. Vinnie Paulino joins the show to get in on the fun as we discuss the history of vajazzling your vagina and sexual assault on a college campus. Then Joey C achieves the coveted cringe of the week. After that, Stuttering John is doing the craziest victory lap I've ever seen when he's not going on other people's shows completely wasted. Also, Tommy from MSCS interviews the smartest Klansman and we play another round of To Catch An Alien. https://thecreepoff.com/ Support us, get bonus episodes, Vic and Hannah pics, and watch live every Saturday and most Wednesdays: http://bit.ly/watp-patreon https://watp.supercast.tech/ Learn more about your ad choices. On Tuesday's Mark Levin Show, the Biden crime family has laundered anywhere from $30-50 million through shell corporations from foreign countries, which is more than enough to trigger an impeachment inquiry. Joe Biden stole classified documents as a Senator and hid them in a garage, but is facing nothing like what Donald Trump is. If Trump is found guilty of the corrupt charges in the case over documents, he would die in prison which is exactly what Democrats want. Merrick Garland will not appoint a special counsel to investigate Joe Biden because they know he will be exposed and face far more jail time. This will be the time in history when it will be said that America unraveled, and the Democrat party is doing this whereas Republicans refuse to even investigate Biden while Donald Trump faces 78 charges based on documents, a Klansman act, and clown DAs in Manhattan and Atlanta. Jack Smith and Merrick Garland are being cheered on by the media because the similarity between Russian Putin state media and the Democrat media is remarkable. There is no question the Biden Administration and the DOJ are interfering in the 2024 election, but they are trying to make Trump the first political prisoner in American history. Also, for the Democrat party, science and words mean what they want them to mean, and these are the people that are fundamentally changing our way of life and our country. We are destroying energy diversity in our country and locking out millions of acres of land to shut down drilling. The Democrat party cannot succeed through fair elections and their economic system and environmental policies cannot succeed at all. Later, the bag of cocaine found in the white house last month belongs to someone in the ‘Biden family orbit', and Joe Biden knows whose it is. Joe will play stupid to any kind of questioning if asked by the press. This is just another grotesque cover-up of the Biden crime family and they are shoving it in our face at this point. n this episode of Bear Grease, part two of our Conman series on the double life of Asa Forrest Carter, Clay Newcomb dives into the gritty details of the violence, hate, and conspiracy philosophies of the first 45 years of his life and how, in the last decade of his life, he transformed into an unrecognizable, “Cherokee Indian” author who wanted to be America's next Hemmingway – and almost did it. Once again, author of Unmasking the Klansman, Dr. Dan T Carter and Steve Rinella of MeatEater lead the way as his guests. Brace yourself because this winding trail will be treacherous as they talk about the beating of jazz singer Nat King Cole, read from the Unabomber's Manifesto, and begin to understand how Asa Carter did what he did. We're going neck deep into the mind of a Conman. We really doubt you're gonna wanna miss this one… Audio excerpts courtesy of “The Reconstruction of Asa Carter” Connect with Clay and MeatEater Clay on Instagram MeatEater on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube Shop Bear Grease MerchSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
TW: This is a capital E exploitation film an there's a lot of sexual violence to get through. What the hell did we just watch? A mess of a movie that stars Lee Marvin, Richard Burton, and the film debut of OJ Simpson. Buckle up because this one is...wild. We discuss what, if anything was the point of all this, the unfortunate parallels to current politics, and justice for Willie Washington. Also, white people doing the most in the 3rd level of caucacity this week. We're nearing our hundredth episode! What should we watch, who should we talk to? Let us know at @white_pod on Twitter and at whitepeoplewontsaveyoupod@gmail.com We'll be back next week with the crew of Girl That's Scary to discuss Tim Allen's trifling ass in Jungle 2 Jungle.
Harvey Brownstone conducts an in-depth interview with Linda Evans, Multi-Award Winning Actress & Star of “Dynasty” About Harvey's guest: Today's special guest, Linda Evans, is a beloved, multi-award winning actress, author and public speaker who's been dazzling the world with her talent, warmth, grace, spirituality – and yes, her legendary beauty - since she first came into our homes on TV as Barbara Stanwyck's daughter “Audra Barkley” in “The Big Valley”. She's also appeared in a number of classic movies including “The Klansman” with Richard Burton, “Avalanche Express” with Lee Marvin, and “Tom Horn” with Steve McQueen. And yes, that was HER playing “Sugar Kane” in “Beach Blanket Bingo”. She also made 2 “Gambler” movies with Kenny Rogers, and she co-starred in the highly acclaimed TV mini-series “North and South Book 2: Love and War”. But there can be no doubt that our guest has been forever immortalized for her unforgettable portrayal of the glamorous and highly likeable “Krystal Karrington” on the blockbuster TV series, “Dynasty”, for which she received a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a TV Drama Series, and was nominated 4 more times for Golden Globe Awards, as well as receiving an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. She also won 5 People's Choice Awards as Favorite Actress in a Drama Series. In 1987, she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. And in 1991, she delighted her loyal fans by resuming her role as “Krystle Karrington” in the TV miniseries, “Dynasty: The Reunion”. In 2006, she reunited with her castmates for the TV special, “Dynasty: Catfights and Caviar”. In 2006, she and Joan Collins starred in a fabulous play called “Legends”, which I got to see in Toronto, at the beginning of their 9-month sold-out tour. And then, in 2009, the whole world was rooting for her in the British cooking competition reality show, “Hell's Kitchen”, which she won. And most recently, she can be seen in “Swan Song”, co-starring Jennifer Coolidge. In 2015, she released an entertaining, poignant, spiritually uplifting and delicious memoir entitled, “Recipes for Life: My Memories”. I've described the book as “delicious” because it includes some of our guest's favourite recipes. And let me tell you: if you're a foodie like me, her famous artichoke dip, her crab and lobster cakes with mustard beurre blanc, her baked ham, her potatoes with cheese and garlic, and her lemon soufflé with raspberry sauce are EASILY worth TEN TIMES the price of the book. Today, Dan is sick, so he and Jordan travel back to the past to answer a very important question: what do you get when you combine a Master Mason, a Klansman, and an incompetent radio host? Turns out, you get this episode.
Right here. Right now. West Point - the premier military training academy of the United States of America, has a literal monument to the KKK that thousands of students walk under day in and day out. I don't mean a monument to someone that was in the Klan. It's a literal monument of a KLANSMAN in a hood and robe with the words KU KLUX KLAN under it. And it's not a secret. They've BEEN knowing it's there. For generations and generations. And they've left it there. And somehow they want us to stop saying this country is fundamentally racist? Like what? The place that trains America's soldiers has a literal monument to the KKK and this place isn't fundamentally racist? You've left it up for generations, but you aren't fundamentally racist?
