Rio Hondo Prep makes their first road trip of the season on a short week to face the Maranatha Minutemen on Thursday night. Both teams are 2-0 much like last year's matchup and each have their own contrasting styles. The Minutemen have one of the area's top quarterbacks that could potentially be a major problem for the Kares if they cannot get to him to disrupt his rhythm. Rio needs to find some consistency on offense and force some turnovers on defense for them to be successful against a very talented opponent. Our guest this week is 2005 CIF Champion Kurt Coulter who was a fierce warrior on the gridiron and one of the best to ever suit up for Rio Hondo. Coulter shares some incredible memories from his playing days and explains the great work he is doing today helping those in Recovery of substance abuse.

Throughout its history, groups of armed citizens will threaten to use, or actually use, force to get their point across, either to effect change or to prevent that from happening. But in the 1990s, something changed, and groups formed around new ideologies that sometimes had little to do with objective reality. The Militia Movement was mainly rural, white, far-right Christians who'd been nurtured on conspiracy theories and half truths which they had chosen to believe because these made some sort of emotional sense to them, and because they had an unerring sense that they were right and everyone else was wrong. And some of them were willing to go to great lengths to achieve their aims. This is the breeding ground for the modern conspirasphere. Like what we do? On Thursday's Mark Levin Show, the economy is strong with robust job growth, low unemployment, minimal inflation, and declining prices for gas, food, and housing. The big, beautiful bill, now passed, has significant tax cuts and include more border security with increased ICE funding. There's a lot more to do but we should take a victory lap. Also, the Battle of Lexington and Concord, fought on April 19, 1775, marked the start of the American Revolutionary War. This battle, sparked by the "shot heard 'round the world," ignited the American fight for independence and demonstrated the colonists' resolve against British rule. The American Revolutionary War also included key events like the Battle of Bunker Hill, where American militia, led by Dr. Joseph Warren, faced British forces. On Bunker Hill, colonists initially repelled attacks but retreated after exhausting gunpowder. Warren, a prominent Boston doctor and revolutionary, stayed, fought, and was killed, later identified by Paul Revere through dental work. The Declaration of Independence (July 4, 1776) formalized the ongoing war, expressing colonial resolve. Many are unaware of these events and their significance to the nation's identity. Later, ‘On Power' explains that positive power is rooted in the sovereignty of God and the people and prioritizes the well-being of individuals over rulers. It underscores that a moral society is grounded in God-given truths, natural law, and unalienable rights, transcending any ruling class. An individual's life philosophy, shaped by practices, values, beliefs, and faith, significantly influences their role in society. South Florida's Punk Roots: Mike 'Milo' Lesser and Gay Cowboys In BondageFor the first time, Mike 'Milo' Lesser, a South Florida punk pioneer, shares his story. As the vocalist of Gay Cowboys In Bondage, one of the region's earliest hardcore punk bands, Mike recounts his early days attending iconic venues like the Hollywood Sportatorium and Finders, where he saw in their infancy, influential bands like Black Flag and Misfits. He dives into the formation of Gay Cowboys In Bondage, who initially went by Social Risk, and their notable appearances, including infiltrating a Battle of the Bands at Piper High School (Broward County) and opening for the Minutemen at Flynn's in Miami Beach. Mike also reminisces about playing with Roach Motel, recording at Sync Studios, and the significance of Open Books and Records. He fondly recalls friends and bandmates, including Libby Bentley, Charlie Pickett, Malcolm Tent, and Pete Moss (R.I.P.). The story also covers the band's discography, including their debut demo "We're Not Gay But The Music Is" (1983), the 7" EP "Owen Marshmallow Strikes Again" (1984), and a 2005 CD compilation of their work from 1983-1984.

Commemorations marking the 250th anniversary of the first battles of the American Revolution were held Saturday in Lexington and Concord.

On And On is the 3rd studio album from the post-genre power trio mssv featuring the legendary rhythm team of drummer Stephen Hodges (Tom Waits, Mavis Staples, David Lynch) and bassist mike watt (MINUTEMEN, fIREHOSE, Stooges) alongside the unique and iconoclastic guitar of its genre-bending bandleader, Mike Baggetta. On And On features brand new songs that were written by Baggetta before their 58-show 2023 US tour and performed every night, recorded and produced by Chris Schlarb at BIG EGO Studio in Long Beach, CA immediately after. The album comes out on BIG EGO Records on 12” LP vinyl, digital download and streaming services on Friday, March 7, 2025 and features artwork by John Herndon (Tortoise).  Featured in the works on this album is a band-improvised song and, on the vinyl issue only, six more band-improvised interludes. These improvised, then recomposed, instrumentals had their parts recorded separately by each member, then edited down, recombined and recomposed by Baggetta'. They serve as an important connective tissue between the songs on each side, turning On And On into an exciting and trippy psychedelic fever dream of a concept album. This serves to really bring out the story of On And On: at its heart it is an album where all the works combine to create an endless episodic journey through the temporal and seemingly fleeting nature of society, personality, music, and life and death on Earth, only to realize that all of these are also endlessly repeating. Seven of the eight new songs feature vocals from Baggetta, now much more comfortable in his vocal role from the previous mssv album Human Reaction. The wordcraft heard here in On And On goes a lot deeper than his previous lyric writing, while still remaining wholly individual in its exploratory playfulness. The subject matter here, while being universally relatable, is rife with personal references, stories of his and the band's friends and relationships, and one song “Despair & Hilarity” including lyrics written by one of Baggetta's most important musical collaborators Steve Gigante (7 Year Rabbit Cycle, W-S Burn, THETEETHE).  Continuing to explore the seemingly endless depths of Hodges' and watt's musicianship and skill over the many tours and albums in mssv has grown an instantly identifiable sound from Baggetta's songwriting for this band. But the trust that has formed between them, that comes from long-running musical partnerships, has also made it possible for mssv to explore more interesting ways to incorporate improvised music into the lives of their songs, innovating their music in new ways while still keeping the fearless nature of each musician and this band fully intact.
