Still in the throws of the Covid-19 pandemic we continue with the second of our "Legends of League" stories as Garry Schofield steers us through his playing days which includes being the world's most expensive Rugby League player and the dizzy heights of captaining the Great Britain Lions in their famous and successful 1992 Australia and New Zealand tour. All that and more on Rugby League Back Chat
Back into the bran tub that is our archives, and one random Sunday afternoon, we didn't have a commentary game, but, to make sure he got paid, Schoey turned up, and we spent the afternoon talking about his life and times in Rugby League. It's like This Is Your Life wihtout the guests, Desert Island Discs without the music...
After the final round of the 2020 Six Nations was cancelled due to Coronavirus, Brian Moore is joined in studio by former England sevens captain Rob Vickerman to discuss the effects the pandemic is likely to have on the resumption of the tournament as well as the domestic and international calendar. The Gallagher Premiership look set to announce an initial four week suspension following the spread of the virus and the Telegraph's Chief Rugby Correspondent Gavin Mairs joins the show to discuss the plans in place to try and finish the domestic season and also the likely effects the pandemic is likely to have on the Premiership and the tiers beneath which are already struggling to cope financially.Crossing codes into Rugby League, and Super League defied the global health warnings by fulfilling a full round of fixtures over the weekend, it remains to be seen whether the league will continue to play through the pandemic and we get the views of rugby league hall of famer Garry Schofield about whether they should be playing at all and if the sport is capable of surviving a postponement.Away from the Coronavirus England prop Joe Marler learnt his fate for his 'grab' on Wales captain Alun Wyn Jones last weekend. He's been given a ten week ban for his actions, whilst centre Manu Tuilagi has been given a four week ban four his high tackle on George North. England's behaviour this year has been met with criticism from opposing nations and whilst both Brian and Rob find it hard to disagree with the criticism they wonder if the players and head coach Eddie Jones really care too much what others think about them.Plus we'll round up the Six Nations from where it's been left and answer all your questions as usual.Listen to Crossfire: www.playpodca.st/crossfire

Highlights from Round 2 of the Super 8s between Wakefield Trinity and St Helens. Commentary from Craig Murdoch and Garry Schofield
Highlights from the K-COM Stadium in Hull as the hosts met Wakefield in the opening round of the Super 8s. Recent history suggested that the Black and Whites should be weary, having lost by a massive 72 - 10 scoreline at Trinity a few weeks ago. in this contest where quality was in short supply we saw Wakefield's second half of the season form continue as they came back into the contest in a much-livelier second half, despite FC's try midway through the second period. Wakefield will take this win into their meeting with St. Helens next weekend, while Hull travel to Super League's definitive form side Huddersfield - who beat Saints while this game was underway. Final score: Hull FC 13 - 31 Wakefield Trinity Commentary by Craig Murdock and Garry Schofield
More live Rugby League commentary on Proper Sport, and once again we were live from the John Smith's Stadium, home of one of the form teams in the competition, Huddersfield Giants. Visitors Wakefield Trinity, another side who confirmed their Super 8s spot and Super League survival last weekend, were entering the contest having taken Hull FC apart last weekend, but knocking a Huddersfield side who beat Cas Tigers away last Friday evening would prove too much of an ask... Giants raced into a two try lead before Wakefield got themselves going. However, the game was arguably beyond them before the close of the first half as the 30 - 10 scoreline looked daunting. Despite three late converted tries for Wakfefield, this game belonged to Huddersfield, who continue the remarkable honeymoon period under Simon Woolford. Their sixth win in seven to close out the regular season will perhaps bring them out of the shadows even more, they really are flying. Jermaine McGilvary was again a hot shot performer with a hat-trick, but Danny Brough was excellent too, with precise kicking to finish 6/7 Final score: Huddersfield Giants 40- 28 Wakefield Trinity Commentary by Mark Walker and Garry Schofield
In a game expected to be ultra competitive between two in-form sides, we were treated to nine tries, lead changes & a comeback as Huddersfield Giants showed perhaps they wanted this one that bit more than their hosts from along the M62. Jermaine McGillvary grabbed the Man of the Match award as his three four-pointers helped settle this game, which in both the early stages and as the first half closed out, looked like it Castleford's to lose. It's three wins in a row now for Giants, and despite an off-night for Danny Brough, who missed three straight attempts to add the extras during a period of early second-half domination from the away side, Huddersfield's supporters will only remember this as the night that secured their Super League status for another year. While Giants will head towards the split in terrific form, Castleford have now lost comprehensively to two sides below them all season in the past month, so they'll hope to put that aside next week at Widnes. Another takeaway from this positive period for Giants is the remarkable impact of Simon Woolford, who has certainly proved the naysayers wrong since arriving in the home of rugby league to replace the sacked Rick Stone. The Australian has led the once-relegation-threatened Giants into the Super 8s! Commentary in this game was by Richard Shaw-Wright & Garry Schofield.
As the split for the Super 8s edges that bit closer, Huddersfield welcomed Super League's second-placed side Wigan to the John Smith's Stadium with the Giants hoping for a second home win in a row & Warriors looking to keep the pressure on runaway leaders St. Helens. Huddersfield had the better of Wigan from the off as McIntosh bagged another brace and the home side's defence kept Wigan at bay. A frantic first half was enough for Simon Woolford's men, who controlled the second period, only needing the one four pointer before the cherry and whites managed a late consolation. The only concern for Giants may be an off night of kicking for Danny Brough but Huddersfield will be much more focused on their impressive form in the season's twilight that leaves them comfortable in the top eight, level on points with sixth-placed Catalans. Proper Sport's commentary team of Mick Gledhill and Garry Schofield brought you the action in this lively affair. Final score: Huddersfield Giants 20 - 12 Wigan Warriors
