Dr. Mitchell shares with us the example and mind of Christ, here on the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast. In Philippians chapter 2 verses 5 and 6, Christ is our pattern both in His humiliation and then in His exaltation. But first of all, Dr. Mitchell speaks of Christ in His humiliation. This refers to Christ Jesus, who existing in the form of God, emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant. Dr. Mitchell, through the Scriptures, shows how the Lord existed with the other members of the Trinity before time began. The apostle Paul says that Christ is still existing in the form of God even after having died and been raised from the dead and now exalted and seated at the right hand of God. There is now a real man in heaven, Jesus Christ, the God-Man. Let's join Dr. Mitchell, Phil. 2:5. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/unchanging-word/message
John 1 alludes to the story of the Exodus numerous times to make the point that God came and "pitched his tent" in the midst of his people through the incarnation of Jesus. Jesus revealed the glory of God that Moses couldn't see – but he did so paradoxically, through the cross. We're invited to respond in faith to the way Jesus reveals the fullness of grace and truth, and thereby receive adoption into God's family.

What is the birth of Jesus about? It's about every knee bowing and every tongue confessing that Jesus is Lord! The birth of Jesus is the prequel to the parousia--known only by God the Father Himself. Prepare the way of the Lord!
We hope you have a wonderful Christmas remembering that Jesus is not only the reason for this holiday season, but for every season in your life.
What is the birth of Jesus about? It's about His reign. We likely fail to grasp what “King Jesus” means, for we live in a representative government, after all. King Jesus is not elected; we don't vote for Him. He rules. Period.
When Jesus took on human form it took a while for people to recognize Him as being God, and many never actually did. Today, it's as true as it was then that we need help recognizing and receiving God! Our fallen world still doesn't recognize it's maker, but it's only in recognizing and receiving Jesus that we become children of God. Since this has eternal implications, it's important that we know what it means to receive Jesus. It means to accept Jesus as who He truly is, to put our trust in Him, His character, and His promise. John writes in his gospel, "The word became flesh and dwelled among us." The powerful Creator of the universe was born into the world in vulnerability, interacting face to face with His creation, and giving astonishing dignity to humanity by becoming one of us. As we celebrate the incarnation of Jesus, we also recognize that those who believe are made one with Him, and can now be an extension of His love and care for our world, helping others recognize Jesus through His new creation at work in and through us.
Isaiah 7:14 appears on a lot of Christmasware, but do we understand what it meant to the man who first heard it? Do we need to in order to understand what it means? Is there a connection between Isaiah's prophecy and the virgin birth in Bethlehem?

What is the birth of Jesus about? It's about God being with us. Through the birth of Jesus, we see the lengths God will go to in order to be with us come hell or high water, life and even death. Nothing will separate us from His love.
What is the birth of Jesus about? It's about salvation. Christ the Savior is born! The birth of baby Jesus highlights the fact that we are sinners needing to be saved. What stands out even more is that Jesus is our Savior who came to save us!
Are you ready to embark on an enlightening journey to unravel the profound mysteries of the Messiah? Our Advent series commences with an engaging exploration of the concept of the Incarnation. We grapple with the divine revelation of Jesus Christ, God in human form, an idea that pushes the boundaries of human understanding. As we navigate through Jesus' human experiences and claims of authority, we're led to the promise of his second coming. This forms the bedrock of our discussion on ‘Advent' and its multitude of implications. In the second segment, we illuminate the specifics of the Incarnation, as depicted in the Bible. We traverse through the angel's message to Mary, underlining the twin pillars of the Incarnation - the virgin birth and the Holy Spirit's involvement. As we delve deeper into the motivations that inspired Jesus to assume human form, we confront a love so profound that it's beyond human comprehension. We conclude with a discourse on the significance of disseminating the Gospel and the importance of glorifying God's deeds. Join us as we delve into these profound truths and respond, with joy, to the Incarnation.Video available at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Wv3Z-APnGw

Ephesians 6:10-13 — What is one of the greatest dangers to the church? In this sermon on Ephesians 6:10–13 titled “God in the Flesh,” Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones warns about the devil's attack upon the church by introducing false teaching about the person of Christ. The early church in the time of the apostles had to battle those who denied that Jesus truly came in the flesh. In later times, the church had to oppose those that said Jesus is just a creature sent by God, not the Creator God Himself. Heresy is dangerous because it is not merely an academic question of theology, but it affects the gospel proclamation of the church. When the church has lost sight of who Jesus is and what He has done, it loses itself and becomes fatally compromised. What does this mean for the Christian? This answer is simple: it matters because it is Jesus Christ who saves from sins and redeems people by His death. It is Jesus who saves through the Holy Spirit's gift of faith. The importance of Jesus Christ is the reason that the church must always be clear and bold in its proclamation of God's truth as found in His word.
