John's presentation of the Resurrection and appearing of Jesus Christ is that we may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the son of God and that believing we may have life in His name.Thank you for being here on the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast. We are now in the 21st and last chapter of the Gospel of John.Dr. Mitchell notes that in this chapter, the Lord Jesus is revealed as the great and chief shepherd of His people. In this chapter, the Apostle John writes that this is the 3rd time Jesus appeared to His disciples after His resurrection. Please note, that here in chapter 21, there are only 7 of the 11 disciples present. They are no longer in Jerusalem but have now traveled 100 miles back up north to a shore on the sea of Galilee. The disciples have now gone back to fishing, their old business. The focus in this additional chapter is the Lord Jesus, Peter and John. Jesus has an individual purpose for each of them. Jesus has a distinct purpose for each of His followers, you and for me.Here is Dr. Mitchell, John 21:1.

This Sunday Pastor Jeff Sparkman finishes our series in the Gospel of John, where Jesus reappears to His disciples and restores Peter's calling, even after Peter had previously denied Him three times. This message has a lot of significance for us today, as many of us feel like God can't use us after our failure - but the good news is that God still loves us and restores us to wholeness.
Wednesday, October 15, 2025 - John 3:22-36 - John's humility, Jesus must increase, God's testimony about His Son, eternal life through faith.
Part 48 of the series: The Gospel of John // John 18:1-11
This Sunday, Pastor Jeff Sparkman preaches on evidences for the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The death and resurrection of Jesus are the most important events in all the world; it changed everything! What proof do we have that Jesus rose from the dead? Is our faith grounded in reason and evidence or do we need to check our brains at the door? We can have great confidence that Jesus really did rise from the dead.

Pastor Jeff Sparkman continues our series through the Gospel of John in John 19, on Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea's bravery to declare their support of Jesus as the Messiah. This message encourages us to remember that when we are in a spiritual battle, the devil does not want truth to be brought to the light. But God is using this to advance His Kingdom, the truth of the Gospel is being shared all over the world like never before, and people are boldly speaking out. This is the hour to be bold and share God's truth openly!

Pastor Jeff Sparkman shares from John 19 on Pilate's predicament with Jesus on trial. Pilate had a choice to give into the mob or release an innocent man. He chose political expediency and what the crowd wanted over what was right. This Sunday, Pastor Jeff gives some Biblical keys to overcoming the fear of man and the need for approval.
Part 42 of the series: The Gospel of John // John 15:1-7
Part 41 of the series: The Gospel of John // John 14:15-31
Back in the Gospel of John, over the trial and sentencing of Jesus in chapter 19, Pastor Jeff Sparkman speaks on the healing power of Jesus. In Isaiah, it says by His stripes we are healed. What is God's promise of healing in our lives?
Three major portions to the program today, starting off with some observations on the relationship of the Prologue of the Gospel of John (John 1:1-18) to the Prologue of the First Epistle of John. Then we looked at a post on X from a few weeks ago presenting a very one-sided view of the supposed "Petrine Promise" in Matthew 16, and finished off with about twelve minutes more looking at David Allen's new book.
Part 40 of the series: The Gospel of John // John 14:1-14
Pastor Jeff Sparkman is back to continue our series through the Gospel of John! In John chapter 18 during trial of Jesus, we ask the same question Pilate asked 2000 years ago: “What is truth?” How do we know what to believe today and where to find truth?

CULTIVATING SAINTS, SAGES, AND STATESMEN THROUGH THE GREAT TRADITION OF CHRISTENDOMIn this episode, I cover a verse from the Gospel of John (John 20:21-23) that greatly disturbed me as a protestant. Jesus literally gave the Apostles the authority to forgive or not forgive sins! I had no framework for understanding this as a protestant. In retrospect, I now see it as the beginning of my journey to the Catholic Church.See our Quote Archive on the Sacrament of Confession in the Church Fathers: https://eternalchristendom.com/becoming-catholic/quote-archive/sacrament-of-confession/VISIT OUR WEBSITEhttps://eternalchristendom.com/BECOME A PATRON OF THE GREAT TRADITIONHelp us continue to dig into the Great Tradition; produce beautiful, substantive content; and gift these treasures to cultural orphans around the world for free:https://eternalchristendom.com/become-a-patron/EXCLUSIVE DISCOUNTS AT ETERNAL CHRISTENDOM BOOKSTOREhttps://eternalchristendom.com/bookstore/CONNECT ON SOCIAL MEDIAX: https://twitter.com/JoshuaTCharlesFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/joshuatcharles/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/joshuatcharles/DIVE DEEPERCheck out Eternal Christendom's "Becoming Catholic," where you'll find hundreds of thousands of words of free content (as big as the Bible!) in the form of Articles, Quote Archives, and Study Banks to help you become, remain, and deepen your life as a Catholic:https://eternalchristendom.com/becoming-catholic/EPISODE CHAPTERS00:00 - Introduction03:35 - A Disturbing Verse05:48 - A Disturbing Lack of Answers10:27 - A Disappointing Silence15:52 - The Tip of the Patristic IcebergLISTEN ON APPLEhttps://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/eternal-christendom-podcast/id1725000526LISTEN ON SPOTIFYhttps://open.spotify.com/show/3HoTTco6oJtApc21ggVevu
