This week we feature Alex SLK with his forthcoming release 'Grand Finale' Prototype Recordings warmly welcomes drum and bass DJ/producer, Alex SLK all the way from Riga, Latvia. Broken beats took over his musical tastes in the mid 00's, when he first heard his early influences such as Ed Rush & Optical, Skynet, Aphrodite, Calyx and Technical Itch. Pushing his dark & heavy signature sound, Alex has previously released on labels such as Grid Recordings, Liondub, Sub-liminal, Ransaked and more. For the A side we have ‘Grand Finale' which was weirdly inspired by a visit to a massive grand cathedral in Moscow and early Netsky music. Alex then added his own signature ‘rusty' twist to achieve a massive epic vibe, tailored specifically for club soundsystems.

Harley's been busy and has been keeping things moving in the release department with ‘Perfection' on our ‘That's What We Call Bass! Volume 5' VA project, his recent ‘Colours' EP on Serial Killaz and features on many compilations on labels such as Gradient, Low Down Deep, Deep In The Jungle & Invicta Audio.

We are super excited to follow up our Shadow Boxers series with Dushi. No stranger to JDNB, having passed through with an insightful interview in times gone by, we are stoked to welcome her back on our brand new platform. Born and raised in the lively London's Brixton, Dushi is a producer and DJ indebted to a life spent raving. A child of the legendary DnB and free party scene that filled clubs and warehouses in the capital, Dushi has carried that unique energy through to her own productions. With her unique blend of melodic soulful sounds, coupled with a love for a dirty bassline the open-minded spirit of rave is at the heart of both her productions and fluid, club-ready DJ sets. Dushi's release schedule has been bolstered by wide support from a broad range of DJs, including plays on Capital, Kiss 100, Radio 1 and 1xtra from tastemakers such as Fabio and Grooverider, Friction, Bailey, Dj Hazard, Hype, Dj SS and Rene Le Vice. A lifelong devotee to radio, she has also recorded guest mixes for Marcus Nasty on Rinse FM, Clayton's Renegade Hardware on Reprezent, Capital FM and the Rework podcast series. Panda presents Tyke. Tyke is the fresh signing to Twisted Individual's Grid Recordings. Before writing bass music, Tyke used to be a graffiti artist tagging his name all around London. Replacing the spray can with the music sequencer at 15, while leaving home, Tyke began writing Drum and Bass tracks and after two years was picked up by Planet Phat Records' Olly who supported and guided him the way into playing at many radio stations and clubs such as Herbal in London. In 2008, Tyke released his first record on Source Recordings and soon after a 12" on Muzik Hertz. Now finally signed to Grid Recordings, his future seems laid out for him. As new members of the Grid Recordings label, they are currently flying around the world to play at the biggest Drum N Bass clubs and festivals. They have a discography that already includes several Drum & Bass classics and having worked with Estonian singer Lenna Kuurmaa in their debut "Homesick" or "Loomeinimesed" in Estonian at the Eesti Laui 2009 song festival. In this artist-only mix, they show us solely their latest tunes... blended in top speed! Original members Alexander (Zub), Artiom (G-ruff) and Alex H started experimenting with different genres of electronic music using any and all software they could find. It was at the beginning of 2004 when MF's tunes first began appearing on various drum and bass CD-compilations. During the course of 2004 they released an album on Prosvet Records, a Russian label, called MF Project No Limits'. The album was mostly jump up tunes but also consisted of liquid funk and a few experimental tracks and was well received by the drum and bass audience and critics, gaining the MF team further recognition. Then in 2005 they released again on an experimental label called Exegene Records. In recognition of their up-coming talent, UK drum and bass pioneer and label boss of the mighty Formation Records, Dj SS began keeping a close eye on their music and progress. It was their track My Feeling that finally got released on the Formation powered imprint World Of Drum'n'Bass Records catapulting the trios music further towards the mainstream of drum and bass music. Not content at reaching this goal, quickly followed a release on Formations sister label New Identity, proving their value as international drum and bass artists.
