Connor takes a look at his Spotify Wrapped and makes a shocking confession about the show. Then he takes a look at the QB room and how Rhule will use Heinrich Haarberg next season. And has an update on the former OC, Marcus Satterfield.
This week on the premier reaction podcast/live show out there, the Corn Nation Overreaction, Greg, Hoss, and Jake will break down Nebraska's sixth win of the season, the 44-25 victory over the Wisconsin Badgers. The Huskers are bowl-eligible for the first time since 2016 and toppled Wiscy for the first time since September 2012. And it happened in Matt Rhule's second year, Dylan Raiola's eleventh game, and Dana Holgorsen's second game. While the two teams traded scores early (we see you and we appreciate you, Heinrich Haarberg), Nebraska never trailed and looked in control the entire game. Emmett Johnson became the Huskers' first 100-yard rusher of the season. Raiola threw for almost 300 yards, and the defense was good enough to beat the Badgers to the Bowl Game (context: Wisconsin is also seeking their sixth win of the season). What did the guys think of the game and how much confidence did yesterday's contest inspire heading to Iowa City next week?
We try to get to the bottom of why so many fans want Dylan Raiola to be benched, and Heinrich Haarberg to see more playing time.
I'm sure you have opinions. We have a lot to talk about after Nebraska is STILL winless against USC following Saturday's 28-20 final. This week on Corn Nation's Overreaction, Hoss and Greg are going to talk about running backs Emmett Johnson and Dante Dowdell and how the run game was milk-cartoned late in the game. The guys also discuss the emergence of Nate Boerkircher, and how Heinrich Haarberg could be a star in this offense. What was the Dana Holgorsen Effect? How did the offense look overall, and where are areas of improvement? The other side of the ball did not look good. After the Ceyair Wright pick-six, the Huskers struggled with consistency and Tony White could not counter the Lincoln Riley offense. I'll be honest - after the game I was still pretty optimistic, and somehow we opened up as a 1.5-point favorite against Wisconsin. Where's our sixth win? Is it this coming Saturday against the Badgers? It is against the Hawkeyes on Black Friday? What does the immediate future of Husker football look like?
Nebraska vs. USC College Football Pick Prediction 11/16/2024 by Tony T. Recent Box Score Key Stats Nebraska at USC 4PM ET—Nebraska fell to 5-4 following their 27-20 home defeat to UCLA. The Cornhuskers put up 322 yards with 113 rushing for 3 yards a carry. On defense they allowed 358 yards to the Bruins with 219 passing for 25 attempts. Dylan Raiola is questionable with a back injury. Heinrich Haarberg hit 2 of 7 in relief for 32 yards and an interception. USC sits at 4-5 with their 26-21 road defeat at Washington. The Trojans gained 459 yards with 166 rushing 5.7 yards a carry. Defensively they allowed 375 yards to the Huskies with 262 passing on 40 attempts. Jayden Maiava will start for a benched Miller Moss. The UNLV transfer went 8 of 11 for 66 yards against Utah St in mop up duty. He completed 63.5% of his passes last year at UNLV for 8.7 yards per pass attempt and a threat to run.
In the latest episode of the Pick Six Podcast, Sam McKewon, Evan Bland and Tom Shatel discuss Matt Rhule making Dana Holgorsen Nebraska's offensive coordinator and play-caller. The crew opens with the big news of Holgorsen taking over as Nebraska's offensive coordinator and play-caller. They talk what Holgorsen has done well at previous posts and what we can potentially see happen with Nebraska's offense. The three break down the Huskers' fluid quarterback situation: Will Dylan Raiola be ready or will Heinrich Haarberg start? They discuss the timing of bringing Holgorsen in and then promoting him: Was it desperation or urgency or Matt Rhule adjusting to college football? The crew question whether or not the Holgorsen's hire means a different type of offense is coming for Nebraska. They talk the Nebraska vs. USC matchup, what to expect in the game and can the Huskers make a run at a team filled with high-level athletes. The three discuss which of the final three games would mean the most to win — USC, Wisconsin and Iowa. The crew closes out with their picks.
Matt Rhule announced today in his Monday press conference that Dana Holgorsen will be the offensive coordinator and calling plays for the rest of the 2024 season. This leads to a lot of speculation and wondering - what will the Nebraska offense look like? USC quarterback, Miller Moss, was replaced by Jaden Maiava for the Nebraska game. Miller Moss has entered the transfer portal and left the program. Top bidders so far are Michigan and Oregon. What's the USC take on this? Both teams will enter the USA game, Nebraska vs USC game this weekend, with a lot of intrigue and nobody will know what's going to happen. Dylan Raiola's injury is up in the air. Rhule says he “might” practice tomorrow. We might see Heinrich Haarberg start. Rhule might just be messing with USC as it is time to pull all the stops out. We're going to talk to Tim Prangley about his USC fighting Trojans people and get their side of what's going on with their program. GET A STICKER OR EIGHT HERE! Christmas is coming, and these are great stocking stuffers!

Does Nebraska need to use Heinrich Haarberg more? We also have the updated EPA numbers for CFB and Nebraska isn't THAT good, but they also aren't THAT bad, ya know?
We ask why the fan base seems so obsessed with Heinrich Haarberg, what his usage rate should be, and why Matt Rhule continually brings him up in press conferences.

This week on the Five Heart Podcast, we have the most unfortunate news that OT Teddy Prochazka is likely to miss the entire season with an injury that he incurred earlier this week. At the same time, Tristan Alvano underwent surgery, which we expected, and Brian Buschini lost some power in his punting. Nebraska held an open practice over the weekend with admission going to the NIL initiative. What's the reaction from the event? What does Head Coach Matt Rhule have to say about his elite QB Dylan Raiola? And most importantly, is Rhule comfortable starting a freshman QB? Or is he more likely to rely on Old Faithful, Heinrich Haarberg?

The Nebraska Spring Game was a success in many ways. On this episode of the Doc Talk Podcast, Dr. Rob Zatechka and Travis Justice take a deeper dive into the scrimmage and what there is to build off of heading into Summer workouts and Fall camp. Of course, all eyes were on Freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola. He performed with poise but he will also be pushed by Heinrich Haarberg and Daniel Kaelin. For the first time in a long time, it appears the Huskers have lots of depth at the quarterback position, something that is a must in today's Big Ten conference and college football. Dr. Rob and Travis also dive into some Nebraska brewed craft beer. Sampling some cr from Pal's Brewing and Peg Leg brewing out of North Platte.
