Marilyn “Niqui” McCown vanished from Richmond, Indiana, on July 22, 2001, just weeks before her wedding. The 28-year-old was last seen on security video at a convenience store near a local laundromat. Months later, the GMC Jimmy she had been driving was found in Dayton, Ohio; her laundry was found folded inside the vehicle.  Dateline's Josh Mankiewicz speaks with Niqui's sister, Michelle McCown-Luster, and Niqui's daughter, Payton Johnston, about their long search for answers. Josh also speaks with WDTN co-anchor Kelley King, who has followed Niqui's case for years. Also featured is Richmond Police Department Detective Mike Wright, who continues to investigate Niqui's disappearance. Niqui was 5'3” and weighed 115 pounds at the time of her disappearance with brown hair and eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink top, biker shorts, and sandals. She would be 53 years old today. Haleigh Murphy, a 22-year-old Army veteran and mother, was last seen on June 16, 2023, leaving a bar in Round Rock, Texas, with a male friend.  Her family has not heard from her since that night. According to the Austin Police Department, at the time of her disappearance Haleigh was an informant for the Texas Department of Public Safety. Dateline's Josh Mankiewicz speaks with Haleigh's mother, Becky Mitchell, her sister, Harley Murphy, and her best friend, Brittney Ketchum. When last seen, Haleigh Murphy was 5' and 130 lbs. She had short platinum blonde hair, hazel eyes, and many brightly-colored tattoos. She would be 26 years old today. Cheryl Scherer vanished from the Rhodes Pump-Ur-Own gas station in Scott City, Missouri, on April 17, 1979. The 19-year-old had spoken with her mother that morning, but when a co-worker stopped by the station shortly after that call, Cheryl was gone. Nearly half a century later, Cheryl's disappearance remains unsolved, and tips continue to come in today.  Dateline's Josh Mankiewicz speaks with Cheryl's younger siblings, Anthony Scherer and Diane Scherer-Morris, along with Sheriff Derick Wheetley, Det. Sgt. Michael Williams, and Det. Carerra Patterson of the Scott County Sheriff's Office about the case. At the time of her disappearance, Cheryl Scherer was 5'1”, weighed about 100 lbs., with blue eyes and shoulder-length red hair. Cheryl would be 67 years old in August. Josh Mankiewicz sits down with Andrea Canning to discuss her episode, “The Day Dee Disappeared.” In April 2021, Dee Warner vanished from her Michigan farm. Investigators pursued multiple leads, but kept coming back to her husband, Dale. In 2023, Dale Warner was charged with his wife's murder, even though her remains had not been found. That changed ahead of trial, when Dee's remains were located in a most unlikely place. Dale was found guilty of second-degree murder. Andrea shares an exclusive clip from her interview with Dee's nephew, who recounts an unusual visit with a psychic who offered a theory about what might have happened to Dee. Josh and Andrea discuss how they both covered the case and how Josh's podcast, Missing in America, shed light on Dee's disappearance early on. On June 5, 2017, 20-year-old Ashley Loring Heavy Runner reportedly went to a couple of house parties on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Browning, Montana. The next day, she and her sister Kimberly Loring messaged each other on Facebook. That is the last time anyone in Ashley's family has heard from her. Josh Mankiewicz sits down with Blayne Alexander to discuss her episode, “The Mushroom Mystery.” In April 2020, the body of beloved cyclist David Fouts was found in a ditch in Hamilton County, Indiana. The autopsy was inconclusive, but did reveal David had consumed toxic mushrooms, just not the lethal kind. Detectives pieced together a case against David's widow, Katrina Fouts, accusing her of devising an elaborate plot to kill her husband with the help of her friend, retired police officer Terry Hopkins. The two were charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder. While awaiting trial, Terry told investigators he'd strangled David. He died a few months later. In 2022, a jury acquitted Katrina of murder but found her guilty on the conspiracy charge. Blayne shares a podcast-exclusive clip from her interview with Terry's ex-wife. On October 3, 2024, 28-year-old Broadway performer Zelig Williams disappeared from Columbia, South Carolina. He was last seen by his mother, Kathy Williams, when he left her house around 9:50 that morning. After he failed to return home, Kathy filed a missing person's report with the Richland County Sheriff's Department. The next night, Zelig's car was discovered at the Palmetto Trailhead with some of his belongings inside. Despite extensive searches, no trace of Zelig has been found, and the investigation remains active. Dateline's Josh Mankiewicz speaks with Zelig's loved ones and Investigator JP Smith of the Richland County Sheriff's Department. Zelig Williams is about 5'9” and 175 lbs., with brown eyes. Andrea Canning sits down with Josh Mankiewicz to discuss his episode, “Out of the Darkness.” In 2016, Chacey Poynter called 911 in hysterics to report that her husband, Bob, a fire captain, had been fatally shot by a stranger on a Texas country road. When police arrived at the scene, they found a frantic Chacey covered in her husband's blood. Investigators quickly surmised that her emotion and her story were far from genuine. Andrea and Josh discuss the intensity of Chacey's reaction, captured on police body cam, as well as the role of life insurance policies can play in murders. Blayne Alexander sits down with Josh Mankiewicz to discuss his episode, “Deadly Detour.” In 2016,  Atlanta power couple Diane and Tex McIver were driving home with a friend when Tex's gun went off and fatally shot Diane through the passenger seat. Tex said the gun went off accidentally, but investigators disagreed. They believed Tex McIver intentionally pulled the trigger to kill his wife and inherit her money. Tex went to trial in 2018, where he was convicted of felony murder and sentenced to life in prison. Then, in 2022, the Georgia Supreme Court overturned the verdict. Tex pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, and in 2025 was released from prison on parole. Josh talks about what it was like to drive the fatal route with the McIvers' friend, Dani Jo, and Blayne describes her days as a local reporter in Atlanta, covering some of the same lawyers who worked on the case. By the time authorities connected him to the crime, Landeros had fled to Mexico, where he lived and taught yoga for more than a decade before his arrest and eventual conviction.
