This is the first of a 9-10 episode mini-series covering the specifics you need to focus on to really supercharge your dental practice and life. This series originally aired awhile ago on the SP podcast and has since been removed, but due to the positive feedback received at the time and still continuing today, we've decided to relaunch it in it's entirety.
In this episode Dr. Justin Short discusses 10 'truths' or lessons he's learned over the past 5 years of coaching that will help take ownership and conquer the goals that you have.
Justin Short fills in for Chris. You’ve heard him before on the show in February — but Jordin feels like it’s been longer. They debate if it’s weird to talk to someone while you’re naked in a locker room. Later, they come up with greeting cards that don’t exist but should. Justin opens up about being a “Cat Dad.” Finally, Tori from KCPetProject calls in to talk about “The Caturday House Party” happening on Saturday. KC PET PROJECT’S “CATURDAY HOUSE PARTY” INFO: https://kcpetproject.org/annual-events/caturday/ TO GET A DISCOUNT ON CATURDAY SHIRTS, USE THE CODE: BLANCHE
Justin Short joins. Everyone talks about having their car broken into. A conversation about not liking your friend’s partner sends Jordin into a tailspin about the Netflix show “Love Is Blind.” Chris teaches us famous Buzz band’s original names. Jordin tries to make a friend off Craigslist. Finally, Chris reads an entry from Miss B’s journal dated 1938 — and #BuzzFamily thinks they know what she’s talking about. Justin Short hosted #RockTheRedKettleKC this year, and Jordin has wanted him on the show since the moment they met. In this episode of Transition Talk, we explore what, hopefully, is the best part of the transition into ownership....being an Owner! In the "What Happens Next" series, we explore what happens after closing. In this first interview of the series, Christy sits down to talk with previous NDP client Dr. Derek Williams about his experience transitioning from dental student to owner! They talk about what went right, how patients and staff reacted, what he would do differently and what he would suggest for a new buyer if he could do it all over again. Listen in and get some tips from an "expert" in ownership! Dr. Derek Williams is a general dentist in Lufkin, Texas and the co-owner of with Dr. Justin Short of The LIfestyle Practice. Derek and Justin work with other dentists to help them create their own lifestyle practice, focusing on increasing production and collections, creating an engaged team, reducing stress, and setting up systems that will serve as a foundation for years to come. After working together, their clients see, on average, a 33% increase in collections, often including cutting back clinical hours. They offer free consultations. Shared Practices | Your Dental Roadmap to Practice Ownership | Custom Made for the New Dentist
Diagnosis and case acceptance are at the heart of your success as a practice owner. But so many dentists neglect this key aspect of their practice and hide behind excuses to protect themselves from having to work on these essential skills. Dr. Justin Short joins us from his early retirement to shake dentists out of their comfort zone. Everyone thinks that they're pretty good when it comes to diagnosis and case acceptance, but to be honest you could be doing better. We're not talking about diagnosing things that don't exist, who does that? We're talking about being honest with patients about their needs and doing it in a way that makes it easy for them to say yes. What if there was a way to walk in the room and have patients who already know, like and trust you because your team has set you up for success? The key to predictable case acceptance is not to push the boulder uphill by yourself, it's to have your team do 95% of the work so that when you walk in the room all you have to do is give it a nudge and the work is done. If you're serious about predictably improving your case acceptance, sign up for the wait-list for our upcoming course, Ultimate Case Acceptance: Mastering the Art of Treatment Conversion. We're not going to be offering this course year round and you don't want to miss it. :: Sponsors :: Blue Sky Bio - Download the revolutionary free implant planning software Design Ergonomics - Optimize your office layout for productivity and future growth. Welcome to another episode of the Shared Practices Podcast! We had a great interview this week with Dr. Justin Short, a dentist from the St. Louis area and owner of The Lifestyle Practice - a consulting and education company that helps you define and achieve your perfect lifestyle. We’re taking a break this week from the jam-packed, intense-note-taking style episode to give you a show more about mindset and vision for the lifestyle you want. We talk a lot about the idea of developing a vision for your practice and lifestyle, whether multiple practices is the best or only model for reaching that vision, and unintuitive ways to build rapport and case acceptance. One of the big takeaways we got from the show is Justin’s unique take on the power of small teams - it is a pearl that is not to be missed! Frankly Speaking About Cancer with the Cancer Support Community
Although social service professionals are trained to help their clients cope with the grief that accompanies a loss, there is often little formal training on how these professionals should process their own grief when a client passes away. Social workers, nurses, physicians, clergy members, professional caregivers and others in similar occupations that experience death on a regular and continuous basis can experience “bereavement overload” that can lead to burnout and even post-traumatic stress reactions. On this episode of Frankly Speaking About Cancer, Cancer Support Helpline counselor Justin Short, MPH, MSW, LCSW, explores the topic of professional grief and how professionals in high-loss environments can better understand it and develop skills to manage it.

If one does not feel love towards the esoteric work, it is impossible to make contact with Gnosticism. If there is no contact between this work and our life, then we obviously, are not working in it. If we are content going to lectures, meetings and reading books, without working on the teachings, we will be unbalanced and useless. When a person does not work with the teachings that are given through the lectures and books, he will fail to understand the Gnostic work. Let us remember the parable of the merchant and the pearl in the Bible. This merchant wanted the most precious pearl in the whole world, and once he found it, he had no means of acquiring it. Samael Aun Weor
