Ian deQueiroz founded SENDY with action sports icons Travis Rice and Cameron Zink, and it's a platform where outdoor enthusiasts can buy or rent gear for nearly every outdoor activity imaginable. But there is so much more to this process than just posting up a buy/sell forum with gear, and Ian shares a mountain of insights about finding the right partners, technical stack, and maintaining community. We also learn how AI is becoming part of the process, and in the process, we uncover another strong contender for our galaxy brain concept from a few episodes back. I think it is fair to say that the exorbitant pricing for some new camera gear is driving the expansion and popularity of the secondhand market. It has been a very long time since I purchased use gear or sold any for that matter, so I wanted to reach out to an expert. My conversation in this episode is with Mr. Phil Kaplan. Phil is the Product and Marketing Manager for KEH Camera in Atlanta, Georgia. You may have heard of KEH or seen their ads online. KEH has been around since 1979 and they are the original reseller of professional, collectible, and everyday camera gear. They have over 60,000 items in stock at any given time. Much of which is sold at up to 40% below retail, and they offer the KEH Gear Assurance Guarantee which is a 180-day warranty on most equipment.I reached out to Phil because I knew he would give me the straight scoop on today's used camera market and also provide us with some great tips for buying and selling used gear.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -LinksWebsite URLhttps://www.keh.com/Instagram URLhttps://www.instagram.com/kehcamera/YouTube URLhttps://www.youtube.com/user/KEHcameraFacebook URLhttps://www.facebook.com/KEHcamera- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -TOGCHAT ResourcesShow Website: https://togchat.comEpisode Web Page: https://www.joeedelman.com/keh-cameraMy Website & Portfolio: https://www.JoeEdelman.comDon't forget to check out THE LAST FRAME LIVEWednesday evenings at 6:00PM ET US on YouTube!Visit: http://lastframe.live for past episodes.Calendar of upcoming Live-Online Presentations & Speaking Events:https://www.joeedelman.com/edu/I would love to be your PHOTOGRAPHY MENTOR! https://www.joeedelman.com/mentoring-for-photographers/- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -FTC Disclosure: No sponsors have paid for inclusion in this video. Kodachrome: songs have been written about it, parks have been named after it, movies have been produced about it. It is an iconic film that has not been commercially processed since January 18, 2011. The photo lab to make its last stand for Kodachrome was Dwayne's Photo. When Kodak gave Steve McCurry the last roll of Kodachrome off the manufacturing line, Dwayne's Photo was instantly thrown to an international stage as the last lab to process Kodachrome. I would go to say that Kodachrome's legacy is shared with Dwayne's Photo. As we approach the 10th anniversary of the last rolls of Kodachrome to be commercially processed, we invite Derek and Josh Carter, grandsons to Dwayne, and new owners to the multi-generation family business. They share stories of the final days of Kodachrome and discuss the roller coaster ride of the renewed interest in film photography. Dwayne's Photo still processes various formats of film (even Disc) to this day.
