A high desert rat from Hesperia, CA, Kris Keefer is a former professional Supercross and motocross racer who is now working as a full-time test rider in various capacities. At his company, Keefer Inc, he tests motorcycles and products within the dirt bike world and does editorial and video reviews for the consumer. He is also a podcast host of the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Keefer Tested podcast where he tests bikes, gear, accessories, and hard parts, as well as a test rider for different motorcycle manufactures where manufactures hire him to do private testing on not yet released dirt bikes to help the brand improve overall performance. In today's episode, Keefer dives into his formative years as a kid growing up in the high desert, being bullied at school, taking care of his ailing mother, how he got into riding and racing dirt bikes, not riding his first-ever Supercross race until he was 27-years old, leading the heat race at Anaheim 3 in 2004, mental health, how working for Yamaha Motor Co. destroyed his marriage, realizing it was time to walk away from his editorial roots at Dirt Rider, testing the Alta, the electric bike movement, our fandom of Tom DeLonge and Angels & Airwaves, and many laughs and off the rail stories. RJ Hampshire was an absolute UNIT at Pala winning the first Moto and then the fireworks came with him hitting the deck twice in the opening corners of Moto two and he charged from dead last to secure the final Overall podium spot in the last corner. Justin Brayton comes on to talk about his transition to semi-retired racer/ fresh faced Moto media talking head. He also hits on a few of the more pressing current Supercross series issues. Benny Bloss has found some consistency recently and we figured it was a good time to have him on and congratulate him on the nice little upswing he's been on in 23. Carson Mumford finished 10th at the Glendale Triple Crown in his sophomore ride on the Pro Circuit team. It's wild to think he is the only rider representing Mitch's infamous team but he's gracious for the opportunity. Keefer is in studio for the laughs and insight!
Chase Sexton secured the win in Detroit with a great ride from the back and ironically a little bit of the bad luck he's had at times targeted another racer on the cusp of the W to seal the deal for the 23. Chase comes on to talk about how the race went for him, the penalty he was issued for jumping on a no jump flag and thought's on finishing the series strong. Aaron Plessinger was the hero of the Detroit SX though. He's on to talk about the nearly indescribable heartbreak that comes from crashing corners away from the best race he's ever had where the 450SX Win was all but sealed for the likable cowboy. In the future Re-Raceables episode, AP did "Win the Race". Kyle Peters is on to talk Arenacross and another title for the well spoken kid. Will we see him in SX?
