Dale Earnhardt Jr. sets out to learn more about the world of motorcycle racing as he sits down with championship rider Aaron Plessinger. He recounts his worst injuries, biggest struggles and greatest accomplishments in the Dirty Mo Media Studio. Regarded as a fan favorite on the AMA Supercross and Motocross circuits, Aaron grew up around the sport thanks to his father Scott, who was a champion off-road motorcyclist himself. Aaron explains that he followed in his father's footsteps into the off-road world in the Grand National Cross Country Series, but ended up giving motocross a serious try and found a knack for it. He would get noticed during an event at Loretta Lynn's Ranch and sign a deal with a factory Yamaha team, Star Racing.Dale and Aaron discuss the different forms of motorcycle racing and how prevalent injuries are in the sport. Aaron explains that racers rarely complete the entire season due to the likelihood of getting hurt, and he shares stories of some of the attrition he's faced over the years. The guys also chat about the training motocross racers go through and how bike setup and crew chiefs make a difference in the sport. Dale asks Aaron about the difference between good and great riders, to which he explains that confidence and mental toughness plays a major role in racing success. They relate over the pressure that professional racers face and methods they've used to overcome nervousness while competing. Finally, the guys chat about Aaron's move to the Red Bull KTM team, his admiration of Dale Earnhardt Sr. and navigating fatherhood. Dirty Mo Media is launching a new e-commerce merch line! The 1993 AMA Supercross series saw Jeremey McGrath being the first rookie to win the premier class title. In '24, Jett Lawrence became only the third rookie to achieve that feat. Jamie Guida wanted to write a story discussing who the 'Greatest Rookie of All Time' is, and in doing so interviewed six of the riders from the '93 season to get their thoughts on MC's first year. He felt like that audio was interesting enough to be shared in podcast form. Part one of two featured Jeremy McGrath, Damon Bradshaw, and Jeff Emig. Part two features Mike Kiedrowski, Steve Lamson, and Jeff Stanton.

Time for an appointment with the ‘Doctor' It's time to sit down and listen to what the Doctor says, because this week's Torq Moto Podcast show driven by Talon welcomes U.S Supercross and Motocross legend and all-around bloody good guy Doug ‘The Doctor' Dubach. Of course, Doug isn't a real Doctor, but his extensive knowledge of the sport and his long-term relationship with Yamaha as an R&D test rider warrant the nickname. Doug was right there in the thick of it when American Motocross started to boom, especially growing up as a kid riding the hills of Southern California and has been involved in the sport for over 50 years. Join hosts ‘Jeffro' Perrett and Doc Wobs as they catch up with Doug on the sofas of their makeshift studio at Talon Engineering, where the trio were on hand celebrating Talon's 50th Anniversary and listen to Doug's take on growing up in California as motocross really took root in the USA, what it was like to race AMA Supercross in the 80's and 90's and actually win a round! Doug also discusses his love for racing and why he's still at it in his sixties and in particular being an honorary Brit and coming over to race the VMXDN year after year as well as his role as Yamaha US's bLU cRU brand ambassador. And, of course, Wobs couldn't let him leave the sofa without talking about his involvement in the development of the YZ400F, which effectively changed the game and put an end to 2 Stroke racing at the sharp end of the sport. It's all good stuff and in typical Doug style, he's so laid back and smooth in conversation. The Doug Dubach interview on the Torq Moto Podcast Show will drop this Thursday 18th on YouTube, Spotify and Apple, where you'll also find all the previous shows.

After another great weekend of motorsports and the NFL Draft, Phil and Josh return for E218 of the GSP. The Penske cheating scandal didn't affect Scotty McLaughlin and the Thirsty 3's, since he won Pole and became a two-time winner at Barber. Josef Newgarden definitely took a lot of hits with his press conference and Tim Cindric's lame excuse too regarding the cheating scandal. In lighter news, Georgina the mannequin dropped off the bridge and got run over by debutant Luca Ghiotto in the process. The guys go over all of this along with the firing of David Malukas at Arrow McLaren after never racing for the team. NASCAR raced at Dover for their only time of 2024 with the rivalry of Hamlin and Larson coming through. Larson had the faster car, but Dennis played the aero blocking game and held the Hendrick driver off. The Joe Gibbs Racing weekend started with Ryan Truex winning his second straight XFinity race at The Monster Mile after a great battle with Carson Kvapil. Phil and Josh review their teams NFL Draft hauls along with other key players picked who could make an immediate impact in the league. For the GSP Roundup, Phil looks at NHRA, MotoGP/Moto2, Formula E, Indy NXT, AMA Supercross and F1 Academy. The guys get back to preview the F1 Grand Prix of Miami and NASCAR Cup and Trucks at Kansas prior to Josh's Sim Segment and Show Close.

A year ago, Grant Harlan was struggling to even make 250 mains in Monster Energy Supercross. In 2023, he made 13 450 mains! That got him into the lucrative top 20 in points, and he's doing even better in Pro Motocross, where he sits 10th in points. Yes, lots of factory riders are out, but at Thunder Valley, Harlan was pressuring Adam Cianciarulo and Cooper Webb late in the second moto! This all bodes well as the first-ever SuperMotocross World Championship looms, which will pay big money to all the riders who qualify. Harlan currently sits 13th in combined AMA Supercross and AMA Motocross points, so he's looking at an automatic bid into the SMX playoffs (top 20 in points are guaranteed entry). As an example, 13th in points at the end of SMX pays $34,000, plus every week the riders in the races will make a couple grand, so Harlan could easily pocket $40-$50k if he keeps this up. That's not all! Harlan is also racing FIM World Supercross, starting this weekend. More races, more mo ney! Jason Weigandt called up the rider who grew up in Hawaii to get more info on his season, and what's to come. The Racer X Exhaust Podcast is hosted by Jason Weigandt and sponsored by Yoshimura, Leatt, On Track School, Steel City Men's Clinic, and the WD-40 brand.
