Don't miss beer & psalms, our amazing lineup of speakers which includes George Gilder, Jared Longshore, Pastor Wilson, Dr. Ben Merkle, Pastor Toby, and we can’t say yet…also dont miss our awesome vendors, meeting new friends, and stuff for the kids too…like jumpy castles and accidental infant baptisms! We can’t wait to fellowship, sing Psalms, and celebrate God’s goodness in Knoxville October 6-8. Without further adieu, let’s get to the news… what’s going on in California? https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/policy/energy-environment/californians-asked-keep-ac-at-78-nix-electric-vehicle-charges-spare-grid Californians asked to keep AC at 78 and nix electric vehicle charges to spare grid California grid operators warned residents to prepare for voluntary energy cuts and other emergency measures, such as turning down the air conditioning and forgoing electric vehicle charges, as the state braces for a period of excessive heat expected to last through Tuesday. The California Independent System Operator said in a statement it is taking measures to bring “all available resources” online ahead of the heat wave, which is expected to be the longest and most severe high-heat period to hit the state so far this year. An excessive heat warning is in effect through much of Southern California, with the National Weather Service warning of “dangerously hot” conditions that could climb as high as 115 degrees in some parts of the state. Meanwhile, temperatures in Northern California are expected to be 10-18 degrees warmer than usual. This could include asking residents to set thermostats to 78 degrees or higher, avoid large appliance use and EV charging, and turn off unnecessary lights between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m, when the grid is the most stressed. Lowering power usage during that time will ease the strain on the grid, officials said, and prevent “more drastic measures, including rotating power outages.” https://thepostmillennial.com/fbi-employees-have-lost-confidence-in-christopher-wray-call-for-him-to-resign?utm_campaign=64487 FBI employees have 'lost confidence' in Christopher Wray, call for him to resign Federal Bureau of Investigation personnel have lost confidence in Trump-nominated Director Christopher Wray and are calling for his resignation, a former agent has revealed. Kurt Siuzdak, an ex-FBI agent who now works as a lawyer representing whistleblowers at the bureau, claimed that current agents are saying that Wray has lost control of the agency and that they do not see how he can continue in his position. "I'm hearing from [FBI personnel] that they feel like the director has lost control of the bureau," Siuzdak told the Washington Times. Former President Donald Trump nominated Wray in 2017, after firing then-director James Comey who was investigating his links to Russia. Siuzdak left the FBI after nearly 25 years working as an agent last March, due to what he sees as politicized leaders who were not being held accountable, reported the Daily Mail. According to the Daily Mail report, FBI agents claimed in disclosures to Congress that Wray would be made aware of problems within the bureau but never attempted to solve them. Some of the reported problems that Wray allegedly ignored were agents being forced or coerced into signing false affidavits, claims of sexual harassment and stalking, and the fabrication of terrorism cases to elevate performance statistics. In response to Siuzdak's allegations, the FBI said in a statement to the Washington Times, "The men and women of the FBI work hard every day to protect the American people and uphold the Constitution. All employees are held to the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct, and we expect them to focus on process, rigor, and objectivity in performance of their duties. "Allegations of misconduct are taken seriously and referred to the Inspection Division or appropriate investigative body. In reality, the FBI is comprised of 37,000 employees who do it the right way on a daily basis to keep our nation safe by fighting violent crime, preventing terrorist attacks and defending America from espionage and cyber threats," the statement continued. Siuzdak's claims came soon after the resignation of Timothy Thibault, the FBI Assistant Special Agent in charge of the Hunter Biden laptop investigation, over accusations of political bias. Thibault reportedly retired from the bureau last Friday and was escorted out of the building. https://newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/nicholas-fondacaro/2022/08/30/cnner-claims-gun-ownership-america-homeland-security-problem CNNer Claims Gun Ownership in America a 'Homeland Security Problem' During an appearance on CNN’s Don Lemon Tonight on Monday, CNN national security Analyst Juliette Kayyem made the Orwellian suggestion that guns in America were a “homeland security problem.” But the craziness didn’t stop there as she claimed “responsible gun ownership” means you don’t own semi-automatic rifles and that gun manufacturers have made mass shootings “very sexy.” Kayyem’s Orwellian declaration against guns came in her opening comments when she was speaking with Lemon about a shooting at a grocery store in Oregon. https://cdn.mrctv.org/videos/101973/101973-480p.mp4 - Play Video 0:00-1:57 In either a brief moment of lucidity or playing Devil’s advocate, Lemon made the logical point that it’s “people's actions” that are “responsible” for mass shootings. “There are people who have access to guns who don't go off and just shoot people and rob stores,” he noted. Avoiding Lemon’s point, Kayyem opined about how the narrative for pushing gun control is changing and suggested those against taking away guns are for police getting murdered and were “often” the victims of mass shootings: As they were nearing the end of the segment, Lemon chided those who “think they're a badass when they're holding a gun,” and Kayyem took the opportunity to lash out at the National Rifle Association. Ignoring the fact that the NRA funds and organizes gun safety and training courses, she accused the organization of abandoning advocacy for “responsible gun ownership.” She then explained that her definition of “responsible gun ownership” meant people who “don't have weaponry … unnecessary in civilian society.” Hey, speaking of guns… https://www.theblaze.com/news/new-york-lawmakers-credit-card-companies-gun-sales New York lawmakers ask Mastercard and American Express to flag gun store purchases New York lawmakers believe they have found a way to reduce firearm trafficking and mass shootings. Approximately 50 legislators penned a letter to Mastercard and American Express, requesting that the companies flag purchases made at gun stores. Democratic state Senator Zellnor Myrie shared the letter with Gothamist and spoke about leading the effort. Myrie explained that he believed the public would agree with the lawmakers' request. While credit card companies do not track specific items purchased, they do use merchant category codes designated by retailer type. Mastercard's quick reference booklet notes that purchases made at a gun store fall under the "miscellaneous" or "durable goods" retailer codes. Those two MCCs also include vendors of gas lighting fixtures, musical instruments, fireworks, party supplies, and luggage, to name a few. The letter drafted to Mastercard and American Express requested that gun retailers have their own merchant category code instead of sharing it with other non-firearm-related vendors. This modification would allow credit card companies – and, consequently, the government – to closely track firearm and ammunition purchases. New York legislators argued that plenty of other retailers have a unique code, such as pawn shops, aquariums, and antique shops. They also noted that credit card companies have already been required to report suspicious activity to law enforcement since 1970. Myrie argued that a one-of-a-kind code would help authorities to spot suspicious purchasing activity, which could prevent mass shootings and gun trafficking. Further, he stated that law-abiding citizens have "absolutely nothing to worry about." Story Real Estate: Home. It’s where you build your legacy. The plan, put in place to build a "more inclusive future," is set to cost $100 million over the next five years. According to the Liberals, the plan will "prioritize and sustain 2SLGBTQI+ community action by supporting 2SLGBTQI+ community organizations in advocating for and serving the communities they represent." Goals of the plan include advancing 2SLGBTQI+ rights both in Canada and around the world via laws such as the recently passed criminalization of conversion therapy, as well as using data and investing in awareness campaigns to "improve understanding of 2SLGBTQI+ communities and issues." The cost of the action plan was accounted for in the 2022 federal budget, and on Sunday, Trudeau unveiled exactly where the money would be going. The bulk of the funding, $75 million, was set aside for 2SLGBTQI+ community organizations, with prioritization given to those "experiencing additional marginalization," such as "Black, racialized, and Indigenous 2SLGBTQI+ communities," as well as those "with disabilities, seniors, youth, official language minority communities, and those living in rural communities." Defence Minister Anita Anand applauded the plan, saying it would "help us build a Canada where everyone is free and welcome to be their true, authentic selves." The government justified their choice to use the acronym 2SLGBTQI+ noting that is it "more inclusive and places the experiences of Indigenous 2SLGBTQI+ communities at the foreground as the first 2SLGBTQI+ peoples in North America." https://www.theepochtimes.com/illegal-immigrant-children-being-placed-with-strangers-says-whistleblower_4701389.html?utm_source=partner&utm_campaign=BonginoReport Illegal Immigrant Children Being Placed With Strangers, Says Whistleblower Unaccompanied children who cross the U.S. border alone are potentially being placed in dangerous situations due to the lax vetting of the adults they’re being handed off to, says a whistleblower who works with a company that transports the minors around the United States. An unaccompanied child who crossed the U.S. border illegally without a parent or guardian is processed by Border Patrol and then transferred to Health and Human Services (HHS). HHS’s Office of Refugee Resettlement is responsible for placing the child with a vetted sponsor in the United States—usually a parent or relative, but not always, says the whistleblower. “There’s no proper vetting right now saying, ‘Hey, these kids are really related to this person.’ No. That could be a child offender, sex offender wanting to take one of these kids into their homes—and the government will let it happen,” the whistleblower told Savanah Hernandez, a Texas-based reporter who runs a podcast called Rapid Fire. The whistleblower alleges in the interview that he works for MVM, Inc., a Virginia-based private security company that contracts with the federal government to escort children throughout the United States from border regions. He estimates the company is currently transporting between 2,000 and 5,000 children every week from Texas to sponsors around the country. They often travel at night and to small, regional airports. HHS started releasing data on the number of unaccompanied minors it was housing in March 2021 as the volume overwhelmed border facilities, which aren’t designed as shelters for children. By April last year more than 20,000 children were in HHS custody at one time, waiting for sponsor placement—at a taxpayer cost of at least $60 million per week. Well I’m counting it, because not only does Joe Rogan cover the UFC, but this was also his episode with Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers. Podcast king Joe Rogan urged his 11 million listeners to “vote Republican” to address the “serious errors” made by government officials during the coronavirus panic starting in 2020 during Saturday’s show. https://twitter.com/i/status/1563983626307518468 - Play video Sounds like some people are waking up… This has been Garrison Hardie with your CrossPolitic Daily News Brief. The Castro Merchants Association, named after the city's Castro District, sent a letter to San Francisco city officials saying group members who own businesses in the area plan to stop paying taxes if the city doesn't do more to address the problems, reported KTVU. In the letter, the organization complained of homeless people who "regularly experience psychotic episodes," vandalize storefronts, and harass business owners, employees, residents and tourists. "Our community is struggling to recover from lost business revenue, from burglaries and never-ending vandalism/graffiti (often committed by unhoused persons) and we implore you to take action," stated the letter. "Every day we wake up and have to help people on the street. We have to clean up feces on the street. We have to clear our people from doorways, so we can open our businesses. It's not fair," said Terrance Alan, co-president of the association, and owner of Flore Dispensary and Cafe Flore to KTVU. "At this point it's a failure of the system to help them." The association requested that the city reserve 35 beds in homeless shelters for people in the Castro district, in addition to devising a plan for offering services to people who decline help and keeping monthly records of how many people have been offered services and shelter. "Sometimes they do get violent," said Deen Nasher, manager of Castro Smoke Shop. "The city does need to take care of these people, find a place for them to stay and help businesses. When we call, [the police] come 30-40 minutes later." Dave Karraker, the other co-president of the association, said that if the association’s demands are not met, they may ask store owners to stop paying taxes and other city fees. San Francisco’s Department of Public Health (DPH) responded to the group, acknowledging the association's concerns and citing state policies that make their demands difficult to meet. San Francisco businesses have seen a large increase in burglaries and vandalism since 2019, prompting The Castro Merchants Association to begin documenting incidents. The association noted over 90 incidents totaling more than $170,000 in repair costs since 2020. https://thepostmillennial.com/google-revises-search-results-to-better-facilitate-abortions?utm_campaign=64487 Google revises search results to better facilitate abortions Google will now filter search results to indicate which locations identified as providing pregnancy services specifically provide abortions. The search engine had come under fire from pro-abortion activists for including results for pregnancy centers that do not provide abortions. Prior to this change, crisis pregnancy centers were also included in search results for abortion clinics. These are centers that help women who are unexpectedly pregnant keep their babies. Crisis pregnancy centers are in the business of facilitating birth, motherhood, and families, and encourage women to keep their babies, often providing help not just to the expecting mother, but for her partner as well. When a user searches for abortion facilities, those facilities that specifically provide abortions will be labeled as "provides abortions." If the search engine doesn't know whether or not a facility provides pregnancy termination, that result will be labeled "might not provide abortions." Google search results had not been differentiating between pregnancy centers that seek to help women, and those that offer pregnancy termination. As a result, some women seeking abortions were directed to services that would not provide them. This happened, according to Bloomberg, about a quarter of the time. In June, after the Supreme Court ruling overturning the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision that federally legalized abortion, lawmakers pressed Google to make this change. Their ask to Google came after a study from the Center for Countering Digital Hate, which "found that 11 percent of the results for a search for an 'abortion clinic near me' or 'abortion pill' in some states were for centers that oppose abortion," Reuters reported. This study was done in states that sought to make abortion illegal once the right to legislate on the matter was returned to the states. The Center for Countering Digital Hate also put together a list of the top ten accounts that have specifically sought to counter the genital mutilation of children, and called those users hateful for demanding that healthy children not be sterilized or otherwise mutilated. Those lawmakers who demanded Google change their search results to facilitate ease of finding access to abortions directed their letter to Google CEO Sundar Pichai. In the view of these lawmakers, crisis pregnancy centers that encourage the continuance, instead of the termination, of a pregnancy are "fake clinics." They cite the Center for Countering Digital Hate, saying that the ads for crisis pregnancy centers are "misleading." "Google’s updates," TechCrunch reports, "around searches for abortion come as a group of more than 600 Google employees is pressing the company to expand worker health benefits, divest itself of some political ties and bolster user privacy in light of the Supreme Court decision to strip federal abortion rights." https://fee.org/articles/cnn-medical-analyst-says-masking-stunted-her-toddler-s-language-development-and-taught-her-an-important-lesson-about-tradeoffs/ CNN Medical Analyst Dr. Leana Wen Says Masking Stunted Her Toddler’s Language Development Throughout the pandemic, Wen was in what I’ll call the “pro-mandate” camp. In March 2021, she excoriated governors who rescinded or failed to pass mask mandates in their states. “We are not out of the woods. We haven’t reached the end of the pandemic,” Wen said in a pro-mask CNN piece. “It’s counterproductive and truly infuriating these governors are treating this as if the pandemic is over. It’s not true.” Later that year, she went so far as to argue that unvaccinated people shouldn’t be allowed to leave their homes. https://twitter.com/i/status/1436372898651033601 - Play Video A year later, Wen’s views have changed. In a recent Washington Post article, she explained why she’ll no longer be masking her children and how she shifted away from “being extremely cautious” with Covid protocols. “I accept the risk that my kids will probably contract covid-19 this school year, just as they could contract the flu, respiratory syncytial virus and other contagious diseases,” she writes. “As for most Americans, covid in our family will almost certainly be mild; and, like most Americans, we’ve made the decision that following precautions strict enough to prevent the highly contagious BA.5 will be very challenging.” Wen’s observations are not wrong. The new variants are less deadly, and this is particularly true for children, which has always been the case. A year ago, when Wen was still advocating strict mandates, we pointed out that the CDC’s own data showed small children were at far greater risk of dying from the flu, drowning, vehicle collisions, cancer, and other things than Covid. This data, for whatever reason, apparently did little to persuade Wen in 2021, however. What does appear to have changed her mind is that her child appears to have suffered from the mandates. “Masking has harmed our son’s language development,” she bluntly asserts in the article. Dr. Wen no doubt knows a great deal about public health, just like Anthony Fauci and Rochelle P. Walensky. But even Fauci and Walensky, I suspect, would concede that it’s Wen who knows what’s better for her child. It must be stressed that it’s not just that Wen wants what’s best for her child. It’s that she actually knows what’s best for her child because she has infinitely more knowledge about her child than any distant bureaucrat or meddling politician could ever possess. Nobel Prize-winning economist F.A. Hayek detailed this “local knowledge” concept in his work exploring “the knowledge problem,” and he showed why central planners seeking to engineer society through force are capable of producing little beyond “planned chaos.” This is why it’s so important that freedom of decision-making is left to those who have the most local knowledge and can most accurately assess the risks and rewards of any given action. The good news is that Wen, to her credit, appears to have learned something throughout the tragedy of the Covid pandemic, as have so many others. Wade. So-called trigger bans are state laws that were created to automatically ban abortion if Roe fell at the federal level. Many such bans, including in Kentucky, Louisiana and South Dakota, automatically went into effect as soon as Roe was repealed in late June. Others required 30 days or further certification from the state’s attorney general before they could go into effect. Abortion was already outlawed after the six-week point in Tennessee and Idaho, and Texas had a pre-Roe ban in effect with no exceptions for rape or incest. Laws in each state required a specific amount of time to pass after the repeal of Roe for the trigger bans to take effect. Now, abortion is completely banned at any point in pregnancy in Tennessee with vague exceptions for the life or health of the pregnant person. In Idaho, a near-total abortion ban is also in effect, carrying a punishment of up to five years in prison for any physician who performs an abortion outside of the law’s narrow exceptions. The Texas trigger law doesn’t change who can seek an abortion in the state, but it further criminalizes abortion by threatening physicians who perform the procedure with life in prison and a $100,000 fine. There are no abortion exceptions for rape or incest in Tennessee or Texas. Idaho’s trigger ban does include exceptions for rape or incest, but it requires victims to report the crime to law enforcement before obtaining a legal abortion. Idaho’s law also has exceptions if the pregnant person’s life or health is at risk. The Department of Justice sued the state of Idaho over its six-week trigger ban earlier this month, arguing that it’s in direct violation of federal law because the restriction does not comply with the 1986 Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act. The EMTALA statute requires that all patients receive appropriate medical care and stabilizing treatment in an emergency situation ― including patients who need abortion care when the life or health of the pregnant person is at risk. Idaho’s trigger law originally only made an exception if the life of the pregnant person is at risk, but not if the health of a pregnant person is threatened. An Idaho judge ruled late Wednesday that physicians in the state couldn’t be punished for providing abortion care to protect the health of a pregnant person. North Dakota’s trigger ban will go into effect Friday if no court action is taken. Indiana’s near-total abortion ban — the first anti-choice legislation to pass since Roe’s demise — will take effect on Sept. 15. And an anti-abortion measure in Arizona is set to go into effect on Sept. 24, but the state attorney general requested the courts consider an even stricter ban. Pedophilia is currenlty being pedaled like this – sorry “minor attracted persons.” The same thing with alcoholism, but the Bible calls it idolatrous drunkenness. You worship the false god of the bottle. As is a lot of addiction language. Porn addiction is really idolatrous lust. You worship sexual perversion. Remember, naming is powerful. Naming is cosmic. The first battle is over the dictionary. Who gets to define what words mean? This is why the pronouns matter. This is why we should continue to resist calling dudes making vows “marriage.” It isn’t a marriage, any more than a dude in a dress is a woman. He did not address lowering tuition costs, or that it may be unfair to borrowers who paid their loans despite difficulties, and without forgiveness. https://rumble.com/v1h7d6v-biden-heres-what-my-administration-is-gonna-do-to-provide-more-breathing-ro.html - Play Video Biden said that around 90 percent of those that would qualify for the relief make under $75,000 per year. In addition to the initial $10,000, those that received Pell Grants would qualify to receive an additional $10,000 in cancellation debt, coming to a total of $20,000. He stressed that 95 percent of borrowers would benefit from these actions. And of the 43 million borrowers that would have debt cancelled, roughly 60 percent of those, 27 million people, are Pell Grant borrowers. Nearly 45 percent of people who took out federal student loans would be have the entirety of their federal student loans cancelled under this action. In his third point, Biden said that his administration would be fixing the student loan program system itself. Students would have their payments capped at 5 percent of their discretionary income for loan payments, down from 10 percent. He also said that after 20 years, a borrower’s payment obligation would be reached, and no further payment would be required. Biden also said that his administration would be fixing the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program, which encourages graduates to pursue public service in exchange for forgiven loans. These fields include teaching, law enforcement, charity work, and military service, and those that serve in these positions and make loan payments for 10 years would have the remainder of their balance forgiven. After concluding his speech, Biden only addressed one question from the press regarding whether he had advanced notice of the FBI raid of Mar-a-Lago. Questions regarding the fairness of the student loan debt cancellation for those who had repaid their loans already were not answered. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/biden-lacks-authority-student-debt-handout-pelosi-warned-last-year Biden lacks authority for student debt handout, Pelosi warned last year last year, Pelosi poured cold water on the idea, saying that such a move was something reserved for an act of Congress, not the executive. https://twitter.com/i/status/1420417022786261002 - Play Video Her statements were in sharp contrast to those of Sen. Attorney Charles Bonner announced Sunday that he is filing a $27 billion civil rights lawsuit against the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District Police Department, school police chief Pete Arredondo, sheriff’s offices, the Texas Rangers, the Texas Department of Public Safety, Border Patrol, the Uvalde Independent School District school board, the Uvalde City Council and the City of Uvalde. Also listed in the lawsuit are gun manufacturer Daniel Defense and Oasis Outback, where Ramos bought the gun. “People have a right to life under the 14th Amendment, and what we’ve seen here is that the law enforcement agencies have shown a deliberate conscious disregard of the life,” Bonner told KSAT. “Everyone in this world are hurting and bleeding about what is happening here in Uvalde. And it’s up to us to make sure it doesn’t happen again.” Nineteen students and two teachers were gunned down inside their classrooms on May 24 as hundreds of police officers poured into the school and stood by as Ramos laid waste to the school. Arredondo, the on-scene commander, was placed on unpaid leave in late June and the school superintendent has recommended he be fired. The 376 responding officers “failed to prioritize saving the lives of innocent victims over their own safety,” according to the report. Bonner said he is preparing the lawsuit to file in September. Specifically, the IRA establishes the “Methane Emission Reduction Program” under a new section in the Clean Air Act, allowing the EPA to impose a fee on certain “climate pollutions.” Importantly, this is the first time the federal government has ever imposed a fee on any GHG emission and is part of Congress’ effort to bolster the EPA’s power to address the “climate crisis.” In June, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in West Virginia v. Environmental Protection Agency that the EPA didn’t have the authority under the Clean Air Act or the Clean Power Plan to essentially force power plants to transition more towards wind and solar. Moreover, SCOTUS determined that the interpretive question raised under the Clean Power Plan fell under the “major questions doctrine,” which states that Congress must make a “clear statement” if it wants to delegate authority “of this breadth to regulate a fundamental sector of the economy.” Notably, the ruling expressly limited the EPA’s ability to regulate carbon emissions from power plants, which President Joe Biden called “devastating.” Biden further added that he planned to “find ways that we can, under federal law, continue protecting Americans from harmful pollution, including pollution that causes climate change.” The IRA includes several tax credits, incentives, and grants, totaling $369 billion for “Energy Security and Climate Change investments.” And the above investments include over $1.5 billion to the EPA for “grants, rebates, contracts, loans” and “other activities” to reduce GHG emissions in the natural gas and oil sector. Methane is the primary component of natural gas, and the EPA reports that methane emissions accounted for 11 percent of total U.S. GHG emissions in 2020. Carbon Dioxide (CO2) accounted for 79 percent. Further, Biden made it clear that by 2030, he wants GHG emissions reduced by 40 percent compared to 2005 levels. And reduction levels of that amount require significant transformation. The IRA’s passage and its implementation of a methane charge put Biden’s goals within reach. Indeed, the Department of Energy reports that thanks to the IRA, the United States will not only meet the 40 percent reduction goal but exceed it as it now projects GHG emissions at 50-52 percent below 2005 levels. Interestingly, according to the EPA, the primary source for methane emissions isn’t natural gas or oil—it’s livestock. Before we go today, we gotta wrap up with sports right? https://nypost.com/2022/08/23/kevin-durant-moving-forward-with-nets-after-trade-demand-saga/ Kevin Durant ‘moving forward’ with Nets after trade demand saga Kevin Durant is staying put in Brooklyn. And the Nets aren’t just running it back for a year — they’re together for the long term. Nets general manager Sean Marks said in a statement Tuesday that after a face-to-face to clear the air, the Nets and Durant — who’d first requested a trade, then the firing of Marks and coach Steve Nash in order to stay — are “moving forward” together to chase the franchise’s first-ever NBA championship. A highly placed Nets source amplified that this was not simply a case of cajoling Durant to stay for the upcoming season, to take a final all-or-nothing shot at a title with Kyrie Irving before trading him next summer. While Durant could always make another heel turn, all parties left that meeting at least expecting this to be a long-term marriage, albeit one with plenty to work through. The Post had reported weeks ago that Durant was trending toward being present at training camp, which starts Sept. 27. But after this meeting the Nets expect Durant to fulfil the four-year, $198 million extension he signed last August that kicks in this upcoming season. It remains to be seen how much reconciliation is needed between Durant and the men he tried to get fired. It should also be noted that he went from inking a deal without a no-trade clause or trade kicker a year ago to requesting a trade in June, from wanting his GM and coach fired two weeks ago to supposedly buying in now. The drama brings to mind the summer 2007 episode when Kobe Bryant went on LA radio and requested a trade from the Lakers. But after testing the market and finding nothing to approximate the all-time great, the Lakers held onto him and reached the Finals that following season, with Bryant winning MVP This has been your CrossPolitic Daily NewsBrief. Now, here’s what you may have missed over the weekend: https://fox8.com/sports/transgender-kids-can-be-considered-to-play-girls-sports-in-utah-after-ruling/ Transgender kids can be considered to play girls sports in Utah after ruling Transgender girls in Utah will be given the opportunity to participate in girls’ sports as the school year begins, after a judge on Friday reversed a ban pending legal challenges from parents. Instead of an outright ban, transgender girls will now be sent before a commission that will determine on a case-by-case basis if their participation compromises fairness. Utah’s Republican lawmakers created the commission in a law passed earlier this year as a fallback plan to be implemented in case of an injunction against the law. Under the law, the panel will be allowed to ask for and assess the child’s height and weight in making decisions about whether a transgender girl would have an unfair advantage. The commission, which is set to be convened in the coming weeks, will include politically appointed experts from athletics and medicine. When proposed, the commission was criticized by advocates for transgender student-athletes — who worried they would feel targeted having their bodies measured — and proponents of an outright ban, who argued it didn’t go far enough. The commission is set to go into effect while the court weighs the legal challenge to the outright ban. Members have not yet been appointed but will be in the coming weeks, legislative leaders said. The state’s association overseeing more than 80,000 students playing high school sports has said only one transgender girl competed in their leagues last year and, with school sports already underway, it’s unclear how many will go before the commission and when its decisions will take effect. Utah’s ruling marked the latest court development in a nationwide debate over how to navigate the flashpoint issue. At least 12 Republican-led states — including Utah — have passed laws banning transgender women or girls in sports based on the premise it gives them an unfair competitive advantage. Transgender rights advocates counter the rules aren’t just about sports, but another way to demean and attack transgender youth. Similar cases are underway in states such as Idaho, West Virginia and Indiana. Utah’s ban took effect in July after its Republican-supermajority Legislature overrode a veto by Gov. Spencer Cox, also a Republican. The transgender girls and the parents filed the lawsuit last May, contending the ban violates the Utah Constitution’s guarantees of equal rights and due process. Utah state Sen. Stuart Adams, a Republican, said in a statement Friday that the commission that will now make decisions in a way “to protect equitable and safe competition while preserving the integrity of women’s sports.” The commission will include a medical data statistician, a physician with experience about “gender identity healthcare”, a sports physiologist, mental health professional, collegiate athletic trainer, representative of an athletic association and a rotating member who is a coach or official in the sport relevant to each case. Minter said he hopes the commission will act merely as a safety net, with the presumption being that transgender girls can play unless there is an obvious issue of competitive fairness. https://thepostmillennial.com/principal-calls-police-on-4-year-old-who-refuses-to-wear-face-mask?utm_campaign=64487 Principal calls police on 4-year-old who refuses to wear face mask A California father is calling for change after police escorted him and his son, 4, from school property for attempting to drop his son off without a mask. The father, who is only identified as Shawn by the Daily Mail, was confronted by local police on Thursday at Theuerkauf Elementary School in Mountain View, a city in Silicon Valley. In a video recorded by Shawn, the little boy is maskless and being escorted from school by a staff member. https://twitter.com/i/status/1560413879888257025 - Play Video The seven-day rolling average for positive COVID cases in the area, which is one of the most affluent in the nation, is 544, significantly down from the peak of 5,127, reported Daily Mail. On Friday, the day after the incident, Mountain View Whisman School District changed its policy, in accordance with a new CDC guideline. The students at their nine elementary and two middle schools are now no longer required to wear face masks. However, Shawn claims the mask mandates have not gone away for good because the rule could be easily reinstated. "They have not rescinded the policy," he explained. "Ultimately what we are trying to do is get parental choice or parental opt out." According to the disgruntled father, the district's policy on masking is a week-by-week on/off switch. Shawn said he and his wife believe their son may have special needs. He also said the son has never worn a face mask before. When he was asked to at routine doctor's visits, he became distressed. To help ease the transition into school, Shawn said he began voicing his concerns about mandatory masks to Mountain View Whisman School District in the spring, but the superintendent was unresponsive. "They told me to force it on him," Shawn told Daily Mail. "They are basically telling me to assault and batter my son." I sympathize with the father, but I also put the blame on him… get your kid out of public school. End of story. Perhaps this is the Lord opening his eyes to the issue? According to 19 House Republicans, President Joe Biden's Department of Homeland Security is planning on using hard-earned taxpayer money to fund the transportation of illegal aliens from the border to cross into the country. The House Transportation Committee blames Biden's urgent need to end Title 42 for the massive spike of illegals crossing the border, inciting GOP members to heighten the need to expose the president's plans. In a letter to Amtrak officials, Republicans cautioned that Biden may use their transportation services for processing if immigration checkpoints are inundated with new arrivals, furthering the crisis at the border. "We are concerned about the impact that a significantly greater border surge could cause to your services and the potential use of Amtrak in the Administration's response to its self-created border crisis," the letter reads. "Such a situation would cause disruptions for Amtrak customers as well as interrupt freight traffic that could further exacerbate the supply chain crisis…would also constitute an unconscionable use of significant amounts of taxpayer funds and resources to aid in the vast movement of illegal migrants into American communities," the letter continued. The Republicans said they are "deeply concerned" that Amtrak's resources will be used to move undocumented people. "We are deeply concerned that Amtrak's resources – especially those supporting the Sunset Limited route – will be used to transport these undocumented persons. Such a situation would cause disruptions for Amtrak customers as well as interrupt freight traffic that could further exacerbate the supply chain crisis. Such actions would also constitute an unconscionable use of significant amounts of taxpayer funds and resources to aid in the vast movement of illegal migrants into American communities," the GOP members' letter said. He blamed Biden for putting the unprecedented surge down to external factors, not the administration’s own “sabotage” of immigration laws. The Customs Border and Protection (CBP) announced earlier this week that nearly 200,000 illegal migrants have entered the U.S. in July alone, taking the total so far this fiscal year to 1.946 million encounters. https://www.theepochtimes.com/4-9-million-illegal-aliens-crossed-us-border-in-18-months-since-biden-took-office-report_4678365.html?utm_source=partner&utm_campaign=BonginoReport 4.9 Million Illegal Aliens Crossed US Border in 18 Months Since Biden Took Office Nearly 5 million illegal immigrants have crossed U.S. borders in the 18 months since President Joe Biden took office, according to a new report. A total of 4.9 million illegal aliens, including some 900,000 “gotaways” who evaded apprehension and have since disappeared into American communities, have entered the country by the end of July, the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) said in a statement on Aug. 16. “Roughly the equivalent of the entire population of Ireland has illegally entered the United States in the 18 months President Biden has been in office, with many being released into American communities,” FAIR President Dan Stein said in the press release. He blamed Biden for putting the unprecedented surge down to external factors, not the administration’s own “sabotage” of immigration laws. After rolling back key Trump-era
