What do worms, sprouts, and laughter have in common? More than you might think. In this lively and surprisingly thoughtful conversation, Agnes talks with Cathy Nesbitt — founder of Cathy's Crawly Composters — about composting, food, resilience, stress, and why joy may be one of the most overlooked health practices of all. What begins as a conversation about worms becomes a much deeper discussion about slowing down, reconnecting to nature, and creating a life that actually feels nourishing. In This Episode: Why Cathy believes worms are part of the future of food security and waste management How laughter yoga transformed her resilience and wellbeing The connection between stress, modern life, and disconnection from joy Why “being too sensitive” may actually be a gift The surprising health benefits of sprouts and live foods What midlife women can learn about saying yes to curiosity and small shifts Sometimes the next chapter doesn't begin with a dramatic reinvention — sometimes it begins with paying attention to what brings us back to life. ➡️ Full guest page and resources: boomwithabang.com

Because of Jesus' resurrection, we are not invited to simply improve our old way of living, but to live a completely new life that often runs counter to our natural instincts. In Philippians 2, Paul shows that this new life flows from what we've already received in Christ and is modeled by Jesus Himself, who chose not to cling to His rights but humbly obeyed the Father, even to the cross. What looked like loss became victory through the resurrection, and that same pattern now shapes how we live. As followers of Jesus, we learn to “catch” our instinctive responses, “reverse” them by choosing His way, and “repeat” those choices over time. Passage: Philippians 2:1-11 Speaker: Kevin Stiles

Healing from pain, grief, and life's challenges isn't about ignoring what hurts—it's about learning how to move through it with intention. In this episode, we explore resilience, mental health awareness, and how to turn pain into purpose through storytelling and lived experience.I sat down with resilience coach Rick Cram to talk about his journey through chronic pain, multiple surgeries, and the mindset shifts that helped him reclaim his life. “ Beaumier is a story that began truly 10 years ago if we go back to the beginning of the portfolio. But this story of implementing soulful luxury properties and beautiful environments, really rooted in the local culture—it's less than five years old. We're a very young brand, I would say.”We're in great company with Anna Fedou, Brand & Marketing Director of Beaumier Hotels, a curated collection of ten soulful luxury properties woven across Europe's most enchanting landscapes—from Provence and the Riviera to the Alpine peaks and Ibiza. Beaumier is built on a philosophy of "the art of living differently"—a belief that true hospitality begins not with grand gestures, but with listening—to the landscape, to the people who call it home, to the history woven into its walls. Rather than imposing a predetermined style, each property emerges as an act of discovery, honoring its surroundings while breathing new life into them with the spirit of a curious explorer and the care of a devoted steward. In this winter episode, Anna shares how her own multicultural upbringing—shaped by movement between cultures and meaningful family moments—informs Beaumier's approach to creating spaces where guests feel genuinely at home, offering us timely lessons in slowing down, belonging, and the kind of intentional living we all crave as the holidays approach.Top Takeaways[1:50] How Anna's childhood spent traveling between France, Portugal, Spain, and London—punctuated by magical family holidays discovering the world together—became the compass that would eventually guide her career in creating meaningful, connected experiences for others.[6:40] What began as a small collection of Alpine ski hotels transformed into a spirit of adventure named Beaumier—seeking out hidden architectural treasures and breathing new life into them with intention and reverence.[19:40] At Beaumier, guests reconnect with nature and themselves through thoughtfully curated spaces where design, storytelling, and “happy accidents” become conversation starters that spark joy regardless of cultural background. [24:15] Winter Properties: L'Alpaga in Megève, Les 3 Vallées in Courchevel, Le Val Thorens and Le Fitz Roy in Val Thorens—all provide distinctive perspectives and experiences of the French Alps—while the Grand Hotel Belvedere in Wengen is a historic hideaway in the Swiss Alps.[26:00] Summer Properties: Capelongue, Le Moulin and Le Galinier show different sides of Provence—while Les Roches Rouges sits peacefully overlooking the Côte d'Azur, and Petunia dispels the myth of Ibiza.[30:55] What ties together ten distinct properties across Europe isn't a playbook—it's a commitment to locally sourced cuisine, genuine human connection, and a deeply personal approach to wellbeing that honors what each guest truly needs to feel whole.[35:50] A first glimpse into Wengen's revival through Grand Hotel Belvedere—a revitalized property breathing new life into a sleeping beauty destination that's been beautifully unchanged for decades, inspiring the entire community to awaken alongside it.Visit For YourselfBeaumier Website | @beaumierhotels Bon Voyage by Beaumier
What's the point of Advent in a world that's already been playing Christmas music since October? Kaitlyn digs into the ancient roots of Advent, why the church calendar begins with longing instead of celebration, and how this season teaches us to live in the tension between God's promises and our present reality. In this week's episode of Life's Too Short, I speak with Morgan Cummins; an executive coach and recruiter who lost his dad suddenly more than 20 years ago. What began as an unimaginable shock became, over time, one of his greatest teachers. We talk about what it means to live with loss, how grief can reappear in the body years later, and how to let go of anger without letting go of love. Morgan shares his path from anxiety to spirituality, the lessons he's carried into fatherhood, and how the death of his dad reshaped his definition of success, legacy, and peace. It's a grounded, generous conversation about what loss can show us, if we let it.
Allen chats with Alicia Tooke who is working with Live Different traveling through Mexico and Dominican Republic as well as across Canada sharing her story of hope to youth.Alicia is 22 years old and shares her story of mental health struggles and her path to healing. (Romans 8:9-11) The resurrection of Jesus Christ is not merely a future hope but a present revolution that reshapes everything about how we live now. Because Jesus rose from the dead—bodily, visibly, and historically—we are not only promised the same resurrection, but given His very Spirit now, which transforms our identity, rewires our operating system, and sets us free from fear, selfishness, and the frantic need to preserve ourselves. The Spirit who raised Jesus lives in us, giving us resurrection strength and security to love radically, forgive freely, and live courageously. We no longer operate out of scarcity or fear of loss—we live as those with nothing to lose, because in the resurrection, we've already gained everything. This Easter, the invitation is not just to believe in life after death, but to receive power to live differently forever—starting now.
This week Pastor Darrin kicks off a new series on the book of Daniel as he talks about living differently in a secular world.
Living differently, a happy family, hard work and good mornings, love and marriage, converting your ideas to reality, risk and reward. Humane, kitchen nightmare, gold rush white water, the suspicions of Mr Witcher, the perfect murder, extreme builds, 48 hours to buy. Again. As the people of God, we are called to live very differently. And what makes us to live differently? The truth of God. We can say that differently, the wisdom of God, the purposes of God. And when we look to his word, we will find knowledge and understanding and wisdom that that the world cannot receive, but because we have been born again, regenerated, that we are that new creation, we can take the truth of God and apply it to Our life and even greater works we will do because we have trusted in our Lord and Savior. JOIN THE BJDW COMMUNITY HERE Today we're excited to announce the launch of the But Jesus Drink Wine Community, born from the heartfelt requests of our valued listeners highlighting the need for connection with those who are following Jesus/those who are curious about Jesus and those on an alcohol-free journey. This conversation centers around some of the hardest, yet most rewarding growth “we get to do” on the sobriety journey and the importance of doing it alongside those traveling similar paths. In this conversation, we first address the complex feelings of fitting in and the discomfort of outgrowing friendships. We emphasize the need to acknowledge and celebrate personal growth and the process of pruning in friendships. We also discuss the impact of FOMO and comparison on social media and the importance of exploring other possibilities beyond the “shoulds” with social invitations. In this conversation, we're also digging into how to navigate emotional charges and discomfort and Meade shares her tried-and-true P.E.A.C.E. method. We emphasize the need to consider other possibilities and not assume what others think. We also highlight the importance of not basing actions on others' opinions and allowing oneself to feel and explore different perspectives. The conversation explores the power of living differently and being the first to make a change. This episode concludes with a discussion on drawing near to God and engaging with the community. Takeaways: Creating a community for Jesus-curious/Jesus followers and those on an alcohol-free journey is important for support and connection. Outgrowing friendships is a natural part of personal growth and should be celebrated. FOMO and comparison on social media can lead to feelings of lack and discontentment. It is important to explore other possibilities and challenge the shoulds in order to live with intentionality. Use Meade's P.E.A.C.E. method (Pause, Exhale, Allow, Consider, Engage) to navigate emotional charges and discomfort. Consider other possibilities and don't assume what others think. Don't base actions on others' opinions. Allow yourself to feel and explore different perspectives. Living differently can be a superpower and lead to personal growth. Be the first to make a change and inspire others. Draw near to God and engage with the community. Chapters: 1. Introduction and Announcement 2. Launching the But Jesus Drink Wine Community 3. Today we talk with Emily Cross, a death doula and artist who also hosts “living funerals” – group meditative exercises where you walk through your own funeral and death while contemplating what really matters to you and culminating in you laying in a coffin. Listen in to hear about this practice and its roots, how Emily created her own version of the ceremony, and how she blends her artistic gifts and skills as a doula to create “legacy projects” for her clients. Topics We Discuss: [3:23] How Emily became interested in death and dying at a comparatively younger age than most in the space. She was always interested in liminal spaces and the metaphysical even as an art student. [5:30] What being a death doula is like.It often varies outside of the basics, like NDAs. Emily often offers her services on a sliding scale. A lot of the work she does with families is educational. She also loves doing “legacy projects”. [9:00] Hospice care does not provide emotional support, unlike a death doula. Bringing a death doula in earlier can be more helpful or beneficial than last minute because they are able to see the big picture. [11:00] Emily's biggest takeaways from sitting with people at the end of life – everything is temporary. She works with some of her clients to create art pieces as they approach the end of their lives. [13:16] Living funerals – Emily practices these as ceremonies to bring mortality closer to your life and help you refocus and reprioritize your life. It is essentially a death meditation. She considers funerals where the dying individual is in attendance “celebrations of life”. [16:30] Emily was introduced to this practice during her death doula training, which was started in South Korea as an attempt to help curb the suicide rate there. It was meant to help show people that their lives were worth living. She couldn't find anyone doing this in the United States so she created her own ceremony and practice. [21:13] Many people have used Emily's living funeral ceremony as the catalyst for radical change in their lives. People have divorced, moved countries, let certain chapters of their lives go, started businesses, and so much more after doing this.** [23:45] People often feel a sense of peace during the funeral while laying in their coffin.
